I'm not sure of all the dynamics but based on what the chair of the 28 USA Olympics said there is probably a good chance the selection committee will be different next time. We need a little less W, South Carolina, and Uconn culture and a little more grow the sport.

The inclusion of Diana Taurasi was the most egregious, in my opinion. It is a pure ego thing for Diana who wants to break Sue Bird's 5 gold medal record. There is no other metric, either on the court or off, by which 2024 Taurasi deserves a spot over Caitlin Clark. Clark is playing better and Clark is 100 times more popular than Taurasi ever was. Diana was in 5 Olympic games and very few people cared about any of them. Caitlin would have moved the needle in such a big way both in the United States and, even more importantly, on a worldwide level. I've been reading so many comments about her under videos like these and she has many fans in different countries throughout the world. This team is probably going to win no matter who they send. If they were truly trying to grow the game, Caitlin Clark would be somewhere on that team, even if it's the 12th player. Instead, what the WNBA, the Olympic Committee and ESPN showed is that it is more important to push their agendas than it is to expand women's basketball.

If they had added CC and Arike Ogunbowale to team USA, they would have changed women's basketball, and the endorsements for everyone would have been flooding in. Super Spot On! You just gave the best analysis I've seen... Both accurate and courageous.
The new era is here but the old bully Club is doing everything they can to hold on to the power. If we're going to talk about this openly then we need to talk about Dawn Staley and her manipulations along with Cheryl Reese and the rest. They've had their time and they had some moderate success, with which they mostly fed themselves and left the rest of WNBA women to fight over scraps. Better quality basketball is here, higher integrity ethics are here, and the Bully Club Way is going to have to go.
If we really want to see change it has to come at the college level, Caitlin Clark has reminded everyone of what was once common knowledge. Basketball stars are best built in college, on their own unique teams where they can build their own Legend and bring their own fandom with them. In order for this to happen more and more and grow the women's game they're going to have to break up the bully clubs allowance to have a monopoly over high school talent.

I loved the Arike and Caitlin duo: perfect together. Tho Clark was brought in the league as a shooter I think for various reasons unlike college her major value is as a exceptional passer/playmaker rather than making her own points. Mainly I think because her shot tool kit was amazing in college bit too limited fo wnba: she makes spectacular 3s but only in the arc from the right: she knows that and wisely avoided embarrassment by skipping fhen3 pt contest which had players who can make the shot from anywhere and would have smoked her. She def can score [ multiple 30 pt games) but when she has teammates who can catch is [ 5to1 assist to turnover in all stars) proving that as a rather slight small [ if she's really6ft ill eat her sneakers) point guard ( who remarkablly can block),her future lies as a assist artist ; she won't get the attention maybe that a high point shooter will, it lacks the glamours, but it's SO important. She did say recently she enjoys passing, she makes some spectacular passes, more than scoring points directly : she understands her limitations. I think as she hopefully concentrates on getting.the ball to teammates in positions to score a different Clark will emerge from the high scoring playing she was promotes as ; she's not selfish so she doesn't pad her stats. The mature Clark will probably ( she won't take many shots I fhjnk)will probably average maybe 8 points a game but average 12 plus assists a game. I WISH she could be teamed with a VASTLY superior short artist like Ariike or her sister; the Clark of the future won't be the Cladk we were promised ( she never was gonna be a top wnba scorer) but a maybe less glamorous but a equally valuable potentially great player.

Gray is barely moving, if CC wasn't going to accept because she tired my next in line would be Skylar Diggins. Also, no Griner, she is anti-american, so she shouldn't represent the country. I would put Boston for BG. I don't have a problem bringing Taurasi as long as you are honest "we are bringing her because she is a great leader and we want her to win a 6th gold medal". Stewart
      Reece
      Wilson
Run run run. In the half court you go to Wilson and Stewart. Clark and Reece can have massive impacts without shooting the ball, something you need on a team of stars.
Clark is a pass first point guard with a tempo other teams can’t match. Reece will clean up the boards and do all the small things.
      Cloud
      Young
      Taurasi
      Collier
      Griner
Second player for each position, I trust Taurasi to hit a couple shots on low minutes, Cloud and Young are two good defensive guards, Griner’s size is impossible to stop.

The selection committee for the national team should be comprised of individuals that are not currently related to the WNBA or any professional sport association, but of individuals that have a history with basket ball, such as Cheryl Miller or former NBA Players, former coaches, NCAA coaches. Part of there responsibility will also be to select the best candidate to coach the team. Hopefully this will eliminate the OLD girls club and ALL THE BIAS . Just because you were on the team for previous Olympics does not give you an auto pass.
Diana Taurasi wants to protect the only thing she has that nobody can claim, Rookie on the Olympic Team. She claims she won 3 national Championships and that gave her the pass,,,,Correction, she was PART of a team that won 3 national championships, and that same team won several consecutive championships before she was on the team and that same team won the national championship 2 more consecutive times after she left. IT IS MORE LIKE THE COACH LEAD YOU TO the National Championships. IF CC was surrounded by the same great players you had during your time in NCAA, she would have blown you out of the water, STATS DON'T LIE !
SO, THERE IS NO "I" in team.

I love you! The the reason I had probably never heard of you before is that I had never watched basketball before. Not NBA, let alone WNBA. I began watching WNBA play solely because of Caitlin Clark. And then the Indiana fever for the same reason. And also the rest of the fever players. K Adams used to be my favorite female reporter. But you just took the crown away from her. I love your reporting style. Also how you just spoke what many of us viewers and Caitlin Clark fans feel about how the USA olympic team selection committee went about choosing its players, and leaving others out for doubtful reasons. I could go on about how much I enjoyed this video, but I'll just say I'm subbing to you just based on this one video. I look forward to seeing the ones you've done before, especially your trip around the world. That one should be fun. But also to all the videos you'll make in the future.

I agree with you Rachel aja Wilson even said after the first quarter that we got to start playing well immediately and get adjusted to each other because a lot of them haven't played with each other overall. The way the WNBA has played CC from the start has made her a better player. She was forced to adapt and she did. 10 assists to only 2 turnovers in a competitive all-star game showed how effective she has become even with that pressure. She shot horribly, but 1) everyone has off-nights and 2) she is tired. She still found a way to contribute and Cheryl Miller gave her the second most minutes on the team behind only Arike, which goes to show the trust she had in CC handling the offense.

Arikes shot Making was 50th skyscraper story great and Clark's passing wad nothing short of spectacular. I think it's wonderful Clark seems to be transitioning from scoring machine , where her limited shot tool box causes problems, to assist artist: a.role she was born for to achieve greatness

In some of the pundit anakysus and highlight videos, Team WNBA played with more pace as if they had an extra gear.
Reese got a double-double in a mere 18 minutes; Reese could've had 20 & 20 if had more minites. Ckark had 10 assists in 26 minutes; Clark usually plays 30+ (like 36-38) in reg szn games. Clark could've had 12-13 assists. A Ogunbowale had 34 pts in 41 minutes might"ve toyed with 40. But this is the nature of an all-star game - gotta play everyone.

Come on now, DeMita! I understand the appeal of using her name for views, but as you mentioned, her shooting performance wasn't great! 10 assists are impressive, but Angel also set a record, and she's a rookie! She did this in the all-star game as well coming off the bench, with fewer minutes, which shouldn't be overlooked. And let's not blame Caitlin being face-guarded for Arike impressive play! Arike is like the female version of A.I., a scoring machine, and even your girl acknowledged her as the "best 1-on-1 player in the league." Arike is just unfortunate to be on a struggling team.

Basketball originated and was formed in America by Americans. We have the deepest bench on the planet yet, we see the same old tired faces over and over. Team USA has clearly lost their way and have tortured their mission-- leadership is corrupt and needs to be replaced. How about two spots for posterity, two spots for their future (rookies or collegiate players) and the rest of the best?

In terms of competition, this game was by far the most engaging , energetic atheletic performance by women or men basketball, because each team had a reason to win. This game with all the different scenrios that has been apparent since the arrival of one Caitlin Clark has brought about a surge of new found excitement that the WNBA have been missing for a long time. This game was captivating and on the egde of your seat exhillerating to watch, a game to remember. My two cents.

'Well, shes s veteran and shes been on so many Womens Olympic Basketball Teams that we felt that we had to include her. This may be her last Olympics...' also selected is Brittany Griner, even though she was caught with Marijuana in her carryon which resulted in her conviction and deportation in Tokyo, in 2039, we felt that she was such an outstanding role model for young girls, that she was an automatic selection for Team USA!' Left off the team was Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers as we,vyhe committee , felt that they were not seen as popular enough to get fans to watch the Olympcs.

This is why there needs to be an open legitimate tryout for the men’s and women’s sides. Remove brand power 100%. Remove college and nba/wnba coaches and have actual neutral coaching staffs. If you look at track, with exception to relays (which also needs changing) your name/brand does not matter, you gotta qualify and then go through rounds and then go podium in your event to make the team, you don’t just get picked because you are faster.
