WNBA doesn't seem ready for prime time, top to bottom, and it shows up most with their press appearances. They speak without thinking. Say one thing tonthe press, another on their personal social media. And very few of them could give an honest assessment of Caitlin Clark's impact on their trajectory as an entertainment organization. The top brass need to come up with a plan during off-season to help these women. Step up quickly intonthis next phase of the organization. Teach them about PR, about how to manage press availability, talking points or guidelines on how to handle tough questions, social media do's and don'ts, fan relations, etc. They are a professional association. They need to act as if they are in the place they want to be as a professional league. Then the loyalty and money and respect will follow. That's my theory, anyway.
Dang Rachel you were talking about Becky Hammond blocking people i checked on X and she blocked me also believe me or not i guess because i said a few times Aja Wilson didn't deserve the MVP! But dang
Obviously, a majority of the new WNBA fans brought in by Caitlin Clark are not "WNBA" fans. Some (including me) may want to be, but after what we witnessed, we don't care. But, wait until you see the ratings me the other Caitlin Clark fans are going to bring to the LPGA in November!
A fan of a wnba team is a wnba fan, you just root for your team and doesn't really care about the other team, that's true in all sports. This 7,000 "old" wnba fans tell that to COPE.
Rachel said it all right at the very beginning of this video....'' I didn't know about what happened between the Aces and Liberty last year.'' BINGO. Nobody did!! Nobody cared!! Nobody watched!! A'ja who??

In my opinion, Becky Hammon had a lot of halo effect from her association with Popovich and the Spurs but I gotta say, that has really worn off at this point. The Aces are just not a very likeable team, to put it mildly.
Asking for more money when there is no money to give. Hammond traded a player because she got pregnant. Every player on the team gets 100k from the city allowing the team get stacked. CC only famous because of her privilege. ACES has a special whistle. There's 4-5 national team players on the team and still lost. That's just to start.
Trash talk is not something in the spurs mentality in San Antonio, and to think that Becky Hamm came from that as an assistant coach and worked under pop. Do you think she would’ve learned more about integrity and character from him than that because he’s not like that in the least good riddance to her from the Spurs, and good riddance to her from the playoffs now you know where it comes from with her players.
I think the league was ostracized for so long that they are on defense mode at all times. Even regular, harmless, fan trolling and banter is taken way out of proportion. Can't criticize or clown anyone about their game or be a simple hater without being accused of something much, much worse. Hopefully these ladies learn that memes and attention means we are just so excited to watch and cheer for you or your opponents ❤
The bad blood revolved around A'ja and the fact that the Aces thought she should have been MVP last year. So, when they won the chip and felt like A'ja got robbed for MVP is was "get back."
Exactly someone that has actually watched the WNBA prior to this year. I'm so tired of all these podcasts talking about how the league was before. When it's super obvious by what they say, they didn't watch and don't know.
And what?! The Aces were wearing Timbs in NEW YORK CITY in support of A'ja. Stop it. Timbs are a staple in New York and have been for a minute. You literally can't find a New Yorker without at least 1 pair of Constructs in their closet. They were 100% trolling.
Trash talk is what it is, TRASH (including intentional flagrant fouls). It really doesn't belong in sports. In pro sports, It tends to send a message that it's OK . People try to always justify it by saying athletes in pro sports do it and I sorta think there is a place for it. These people are normalizing it and yes, children and young athletes are always listening and imitating their trash talking and dirty flagrant fouling pro athletes. I've seen parents of athletes, who thought it was OK to trash talk young players, refs, coaches and other parents. It creates a tragic embarrassing situation. When you throw a lot of trash around, it spews a stench, no matter who participates!
It’s competitive sports and ENTERTAINMENT. Of course there will be trash talk because players are trying to win, putting their bodies on the line. People aren’t robots, they’re going to express themselves at the opposition.
I totally agree! Thank you for calling it out. Just because something is commonplace doesn't make it right. Many hit movies and tv shows from the 80's are so full of sexism and misogyny that it's almost impossible to watch today, and it's a sign that we've progressed.
B-ball is a competitive sport when two teams of equal talent play each other. Yes, Pro Basketball is considered entertainment when fans pay and go to; or watch on TV; highly skilled players play at a high level and do amazing things with the ball. People don’t go to see “drama” trash talk; it’s not a soap opera. Weak players usually talk trash, because they “can’t walk the walk”. If you want to see trash talk, watch a street game of b-ball. NBA players usually talk to opponents in a humorous way, but sometimes anger does get in the way and that is when it’s trash and should be stopped, they have to be adults, not robots. People watch Basketball-to watch basketball. Players express themselves by balling. They let their playing do the talking. Trash just gets in the way.@@WhathehadasSole
The studio is attractive and tasteful, but I dig the casualness of the living room with the nature outside (with occasional visits from kitty). Nobody would notice the change in lighting if you didn't point it out every time!
The male coaches are unfailingly careful about being respectful of opposing teams and coaches in every interview I have ever seen. The display by that Ace’s coach was a disgrace. There seems to be a very toxic, mean girl element in much of the women in the WNBA from coaches like Reeves to a lot of players who mouth off about other players on social media and resort to open violence on the court. I don’t know if even Caitlin Clark can bring this motley crew into a money making business.
So much hate how can women hate each other so much it doesn't make a difference if Caitlin's there or not they just love to hate each other that's why I'm never watching another WNBA game but at least you tell the truth
Everyone here in sure watches many pro sports and the WNBA is the most bush amateur league I’ve ever seen. The coaches talk like high schoolers and some players still think nobody is watching. Well we are watching and so is the money so it’s time to move on or act like adult professionals.
I couldn't even speak to what's happening in the nba. I gave up on the league in it's totality in 99. After sprewell attacked his coach, TWICE, was suspended for the rest of the season (60 or 70 games) and then got traded to and signed by the knicks and played for like 7 or 8 more years. Then the artest nonsense in the 2000's. Both of them should have been banned from the league. And there are many more examples of athletes in virtually all sports that should be banned from their respective leagues. There has to be a point where we, as a society, stop rewarded adult toddlers who behave like they don't know any better so I stopped watching nba and nfl at different points for that reason, I'm not supporting the bs. And after watching what happened in the wnba this season with the whining and the attacks on Clark, probably going to only give it very passive attention next year. I don't need professional sports, but professional sports need fans and everyone should really think hard about what it is they are supporting and funding. I'd really like to see a course correction from the wnba next year. I liked what I saw from the gameplay. But I don't need it and I can very easily redirect my attention and time elsewhere should they prove undeserving as others have.
Becky out of order last year and Aces needed the refs this year. 2025 needs to be better officiated. The new fans aren't gonna leave CC, only get louder if the WNBA doesn't get its act together. AW is a very fragile princess when she doesn't win and it's always not her fault.
Admittedly I have never been a fan of the WNBA. I am in the same camp of Bill Burr feeling like it's the woman's job to support the woman's sports leagues instead of "Keeping up with the Kardashians," or the various "Housewives of _____" series of TV reality shows and wondering when they'll finally pick up their end of the couch. That having been said, I am a huge fan and supporter of Caitlin Clark, and I'll watch any basketball game that she is playing in. So that being my official position, I am not ashamed to say that the only reason that I even know what is going on in the WNBA post Caitlin Clark's exit for the season, is because I have also become a fan of truthsayer Rachel Annamarie DeMita.
Another post of Phillip's has been censored so I'm reposting it here: //A look into the mindset of a champion: For a good part of the late 70's and 80's Jimmy Connors was the no.1 ranked tennis player in the world. After a loss he was questioned by an interviewer who asked him about the loss. He replied "I didn't lose, I just ran out of time."//
What’s up with this false narrative circling? Did anyone pay attention last season? The Aces were hobbled last season and everyone, INCLUDING THE LIBERTY, were talking down on the Aces and saying they were not gonna win, they’re done, etc. People are acting like the Aces were shit talking outta nowhere. They were doubted and ridiculed over injuries, won the chip and talked their shit. Did they bask in it a little too much sure but the false narrative Aces are just some villains is wild. The Liberty were literally chatting last season. Stay Woke people.
Let me not even include race in it, Liberty talked shit last season but it’s cool cuz their stars are white (aside from Jonquel)?! But when Aces want to talk shit it’s bad, un-coincidentally having predominantly black stars (minus KP) and gotta hold back cuz a white player didn’t play well due to a family loss?! Foh
Personally, for me, trash talk and giving others a hard time is all part of.the fun with sports in general. But I have also learned this year that jokes (or trash talk) against a WNBA player or team seems to be so hard because the moment I post or comment a "ha-ha" or "what were you saying" post it gets taken so far that I'm called everything from a hater to a racist. All my life talking "smack" has always been a fans privilege (don't come after me A'ja) j/k 😂😂
Rach, seems like your are always on point with data and common sense to back it all up. Nice to have a voice like this out there. I think the cry-bully is a pretty good description of the recent MVP. Not luck, not privilege in this pro-sport arena--it's actually hard work and team work. Aces coach--Rubbing it in someone's face after a loss just aint a great look, i.e. poor sportsmanship. that's still a thing. Plants on the left look great; little busy right behind. :)
I’m not sure why Rachael hate the Aces so much. Plum comment wasn’t incorrect. The Liberty became a better team this year. The making of a good rivalry.
I just think it's ridiculous that being a "fan" has to be explained. How can u be considered a "sports league" when they don't even know what IS A FAN🤦🤦🤦
That last point goes beyond sports tbh. When men get criticized no matter how it’s packaged they are expected to take it. Women expect you to sugar coat and wrap your message in bacon before they even attempt to hear you out.
Is anyone really surprised at the lack of respect and professionalism in the WNBA. I find it hard to care about these privileged victims. You reap what you sow. That would be hate and division.

What envy, they spanked CC's ahh and won 2 chips. Stop with this BS storytelling. Y'all just hate that CC is NOT the best player in the league. That is at this moment A'ja Wilson. Numbers don't lie. Y'all trash for these narratives. People's lives don't revolve around Caitlin who is a great player, but not yet the best and it'll be a while with A'ja going the way she is and having this historical season.
@@nunyadambiz2086 - How come Every time I make a generic comment, everybody has to bring CC into it??
She Sure Remains the Topic of conversation, and is Really living inside your head!😂😆
Speaking of Numbers ....
@@pattibond2342 'cause your passive aggressive words are implying envy of her AND you know it 🤡
WNBA doesn't seem ready for prime time, top to bottom, and it shows up most with their press appearances.
NICE BACKGROUND, LOVE YOUR ATTITUDE , YOUR STRAIGHT TO THE POINT , NO BS , YOUR INTELLIGENT AND GORGEOUS TO I MIGHT ADD ,GREAT PODCAST
Yes, Wholeheartedly Agree!👍
Dang Rachel you were talking about Becky Hammond blocking people i checked on X and she blocked me also believe me or not i guess because i said a few times Aja Wilson didn't deserve the MVP! But dang
Nice setup, you are great, right to the point of what im trying to understand. Very professional
Aces got what they deserved. Liberty better class.
In a real professional league like the NBA, you'd never see a coach say anything like this, disparaging a player on their own team or an opponent.
I love that you report on the truth and not the political drama they serve us in sports
Rachel, wait for the Suns, comments 😂😂😂😂
we need the Lynx to win tonight haha!
@@rademita They did win so can't wait for them comments.🤣🤣🤣
Backdrops and sets don’t matter. Content does. Thank you for the coverage.
I liked the Aces this year until this recent petty streak. I guess we gotta wait till next season for Clark to make the “W” interesting again.
That's the problem with some people is they feel too much and think too little, life is a tragedy for those who feel but a comedy for those who think.
@@rap3208Exactly! It's not like Bulls and Jordan fans watched the Sacramento Kings. These women are just gatekeeping CC.😅
Rachel said it all right at the very beginning of this video....'' I didn't know about what happened between the Aces and Liberty last year.'' BINGO. Nobody did!! Nobody cared!! Nobody watched!! A'ja who??
And yet here you are.
@@jinniferr5489 Because it's THIS YEAR
As much as I'd like to take you up on your offer to criticize or meme you, I find it impossible to do because you're one of the only commentators who is spot on in your assessments , criticisms, and evaluations of what is currently going on in the WNBA. In other words, keep up the good work so I don't have any reason(s) in the future to throw you under the proverbial bus.
It's nice when arrogant thrash talkers get their comeuppance! CC was the face of the Big Show this season!
Let's remember, the word "FANS" is short for "FANATICS"
Trash talk is not something in the spurs mentality in San Antonio, and to think that Becky Hamm came from that as an assistant coach and worked under pop. Do you think she would’ve learned more about integrity and character from him than that because he’s not like that in the least good riddance to her from the Spurs, and good riddance to her from the playoffs now you know where it comes from with her players.
You make great basketball content. Appreciate the non-biased coverage. Thank you.
Hammon says they can talk trash, we did, yet when fans go to her X, she blocks them. Lame!
She doesn’t have to listen. That’s what the BLOCK option is for. Too many ranters out there.
Kelsey "We have good players?" Plum m'kay byyyyyyyyyyyyye!
Classless aces and coach
Yes, thank you. The WNBA can’t demand to be treated like the men in the NBA, and then complain when they are.
Becky Hammond only has one celebrity on her team. Kate Martin.
It's basically a cross between Roller Derby and MMA disguised as basketball.
The Aces and Sun now eliminated 😌 nature is healing
You can’t say you have respect when your actions show disrespect
Congratulations to the Lynx for dimming the Sun! It was a beautiful thing. Naphessa is the REAL MVP!
I can't believe the Blazers considered Hammon as an NBA head coach. Chauncey Billups was a horrible pick too, but Hammon? Ffs.
What did she say in the end? Did she say ‘uwi na’? 😂
No wonder women’s basketball never gets anywhere! Women can be so problematic, if it wasn’t for CC this league is completely irrelevant
That BS from a coach Hammond and the Aces was all because the almighty Aja did not get MVP last year and Stewie did. SHAME on Hammond. Your a coach!
Take back the MVP award!😅
Your set up rocks RAD.
Dear LV Aces,
UWIAN NA!!!! ✌🏽
5:15 thats a bad idea. Reese did it and we all know where that ended -> 😭😭😭 🤣
Another post of Phillip's has been censored so I'm reposting it here: //A look into the mindset of a champion:
For a good part of the late 70's and 80's Jimmy Connors was the no.1 ranked tennis player in the world. After a loss he was questioned by an interviewer who asked him about the loss. He replied "I didn't lose, I just ran out of time."//
Does anyone know what Rachel says at the end of each video?
Love the set up!
I’m not sure why Rachael hate the Aces so much. Plum comment wasn’t incorrect. The Liberty became a better team this year. The making of a good rivalry.
Uwian na!
pride comes before the fall
Nice ser up Rachel, love it ❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Nice shop you have over there👍when did you stop playing ball I just started watching so I’m new to this
If you google WNBA all you get is drama, controversies and fan made dramas.... who going to enjoy this??
I just think it's ridiculous that being a "fan" has to be explained. How can u be considered a "sports league" when they don't even know what IS A FAN🤦🤦🤦
Mike Malone was talking smack about the lakers at the parade in Denver two years ago when he was drunk. He said he was the Lakers daddy 😂
Rachel Awesome Video Today!!🔥🐐🐐💎
That last point goes beyond sports tbh. When men get criticized no matter how it’s packaged they are expected to take it. Women expect you to sugar coat and wrap your message in bacon before they even attempt to hear you out.
Is anyone really surprised at the lack of respect and professionalism in the WNBA. I find it hard to care about these privileged victims. You reap what you sow. That would be hate and division.
Oh no sweater, Rachel D coming hot on the W ! Love the pod ! End of dynasty always a lil' ugly it's always like that in sport. Liberty looks like caliber Champ whoever win tonight I feel
Nanner, nanner ACES, Becky, and Aja. May you bless D Hamby richly and abundantly. Now Becky has plenty of time on her hands to block whoever.
Being from the NY area I tend to believe a lot of teams from other cities just have an inferiority complex.
Any NYC team is almost always looked as like the big bad guy, the team with all the money and all the press even if it isn't the case in reality.
Call the unwarranted smack talk as just insecurity
Why would anyone feel inferior to New York? Your town is a shi*hole joke run by the genociders.
I wish I had known about this channel a long time ago.
Candece's brother anthony was a helluva player too, a MTA legend
Listen to Rachel because she is telling the truth
Great video
Imagine Steph Curry dating Joel Embiid.
Aces did not like that Stewie got MVP last year over Wilson, so Harmon mentioned Stewie's stats to say how she could get MVP
