I can't believe that I actually watched this game. There's one thing I can definitely say about it: it was a fun game. It really was. In all genuinity, watching this game actually meant something. It was something you'd see out of a movie plot. And man Arike Ogunbowale!! What a game!
This game was definately not what is was hyped to be. It was sooooo much more. Everything that happened far exceed expectaions that were already high. We saw our national team start to gel as they get ready to take gold. We didn't just get a tune up game as the All Stars put on a magnificent show taking the win. We got to see the much anticpated first connection with Angel Reese and Caitlyn Clark who both came away with broken rookie records in rebounds and assists. A lot of casual fans get to see the greatness of Arike who already has an all star MVP game but took advantage of the stage that has been set this year with the arrival of the previous mentioned rookies that put world wide eyes on the league. It was just a win all across the board and let's be honest, totally destroyed the mess that the NBA has been putting on scoring over 200 points. i am totally converted and can't wait for the rest of the season

Arike went ballistic (and she does say she withdrew her name from consideration for USA.) 8 for 13 from 3. That's pretty nuts and is a clear difference maker that overshadows everything else that team provided. So aside from that one, superb, outlier, individual performance: the non-Olympic team wasn't clearly playing above the level of Team USA. There was always going to be tough decisions and gray area between the people who barely got on vs the people who barely missed.
The WNBA team should go to the Olympics with Coach Cheryl Miller instead of the current USA team along with CC, Reese, and Arike. They chose politics over skills.
Sometimes you have an unconscious moment where you're on fire and can't miss. For Arike that moment just happened to be the whole second half of the game.
Well her 3 point shooting has been poor recently ,but she is getting her points in the paint and a lot of assists.i think she has lost confidence in her long range shooting .which is what she was famous for.

I can truly say, the best professional basketball game I went to was a Liberty game back in the day when T Witherspoon was playing. A lot has changed since then but the rookie class gave a spark back to the WNBA. I like it
NBA = jacking up threes. No defense. No dunks. They don't play like men. So if you're gonna watch three point shooting for an hour, might as well watch women. Agunbowale and Clark both had a bit of an axe to grind with the Olympic team selection committee, though neither said anything about it. The whole All-star team played well, but those two were playing to win, for sure. Say what you will, but Cheryl Rieve, a great coach, coaching the Olympic team, did all she could do, and having Clark face guarded full court helped a little. It just wasn't enough. I watched many NBA All-star, East vs West games, back in the 80s, but this WNBA All-star game against the Olympic team was the most satisfying win ever, to me. Arike was not to be denied, and very much deserved the MVP for that game.
Love to see the best player playing each other and so exciting. Sabrina Ionesco also shows her shootings and what s game by USAb team as there talent is not enough against WNBA all star. Even if Sue Bird and Sheryl Swoopes added agains WNBA all star they could not win.

All those lowlights videos from the past when the WNBA was playing the All Star like the NBA are now in the past. With the increased athleticism, it's much easier for the NBA players to go with show off basketball but that sort of basketball is not entertaining either way. This goes to show that all you need is a decent level of competition to create a good game. In terms of the All Star game, the WNBA and their players ended up really sticking it to the NBA this year and showing how it should be done.

Well her 3 point shooting has been poor recently ,but she is getting her points in the paint and a lot of assists.i think she has lost confidence in her long range shooting .which is what she was famous for.

This was an absolutely great game. Great shooting, and not a lot of dirty flagrant fouls. This is the example the WNBA should follow.
WNBA all star game is miles better than NBA all star game. Its not even close.
I can truly say, the best professional basketball game I went to was a Liberty game back in the day when T Witherspoon was playing. A lot has changed since then but the rookie class gave a spark back to the WNBA. I like it

NBA = jacking up threes. No defense. No dunks. They don't play like men. So if you're gonna watch three point shooting for an hour, might as well watch women. Women can't throw down a windmill dunk, but they can shoot threes just as good as men. This game right here is 10x more exciting than the crybabies in the NBA
you are smoking, the men play 12-minute quarters, are paid more and are less hungry to go all out for a weekend of fun, the 3-point line is further back, they play 82 games, plus playoffs, they aren't taking the all-star game seriously. These women get a month break after this. Then men aren't trying to risk injury. No one cares about stats in the men's all-star game, the media constantly clinging to stats with CC and Reese. Those stats mean 0 in the NBA. Allstar game stats are meaningless as far as the regular season. If men played NBA all-stars vs Olympic team, they would probably smoke the NBA all-stars. The NBA has too many good players, The W no one cared until CC and Reese, 2 players can't sustain the entire league.

@@slytherben Steph all day. The NBA is good, don't be delusional. NBA pays for the WNBA. The W has 2 players that got people to care about it a little bit, Reese and CC. The NBA is full of stars. Playing women internationally is a lot easier than playing men. The NBA has influenced many countries to get better, USA still won the game, relax. Arike may not ever do that again. I can always count on Steph to hit shots.

Agunbowale and Clark both had a bit of an axe to grind with the Olympic team selection committee, though neither said anything about it. The whole All-star team played well, but those two were playing to win, for sure. Say what you will, but Cheryl Rieve, a great coach, coaching the Olympic team, did all she could do, and having Clark face guarded full court helped a little. It just wasn't enough. I watched many NBA All-star, East vs West games, back in the 80s, but this WNBA All-star game against the Olympic team was the most satisfying win ever, to me. Arike was not to be denied, and very much deserved the MVP for that game.

All those lowlights videos from the past when the WNBA was playing the All Star like the NBA are now in the past. With the increased athleticism, it's much easier for the NBA players to go with show off basketball but that sort of basketball is not entertaining either way. This goes to show that all you need is a decent level of competition to create a good game. In terms of the All Star game, the WNBA and their players ended up really sticking it to the NBA this year and showing how it should be done.
