I think going with engineered hardwood also provide more durability for higher traffic area. In my house, we have a combination of real hardwood floor and LVP which we had installed in our kitchen and master bathroom. We wanted something softer on our feet as well as quick clean up in the kitchen. It made sense for us to go with LVP. The main key is complimentary design, and I think you both nailed it.
Hi, Very nice video. I have a question about durability? I installed exactly same floor yesterday, we put a sofa on it and it scratched very easily. How is your floor looking after some time of using?
Nice video. Love how the room ultimately turned out and commented on it on your other video. You guys have similar tastes to mine, and I would have chosen the 2x3 windows as well. I don't see any info on the sliders but would really love some if you don't mind. Glad you made the videos. They are encouraging me to get going on mine.
That turned out great! Man you guys make it look easy! May I ask why you used an underlay when laying planks in the cutaway clip and not this time? Would love to know for when I tackle this in future. Can't wait for the next one!
Same thing - 1/4” to 1/2”. We have a molding piece that came with the doors that will be installed on top of the flooring to cover the gap (similar to a baseboard). Usually the specific flooring you buy will tell you the gap to use but as long as it’s less than the thickness of your baseboard, you’re good!
Fantastic job! 👏🏻 I love Mom’s reaction 😂❤ What software do you use to plan your design? Our house was built in the 1920s and has a big open space living room with a bad layout I just can’t figure out what to do with! 😂 Subscribed 🎉
Fantastic looking floor. Are you sure those planks are engineered hardwood and not laminate? those boards look really thin and thr tongues look gray and plastic. ...just asking. I was thinking about both options for my place.
Thanks! Yes, they are engineered hardwood. These were a budget option so the wear layer is thin but is real oak. Underneath the wear layer is either plywood or a plastic core
@@GoldenKeyDesign awesome. Many noticeable scratches with the dog I see or minimal? I'm about to decide on flooring and also have a dog... but I do love the look of your floors. (I have a puking cat too. lol)
Any problems with this flooring, a year or so later? I've been researching and believe engineered hardwood is the way to go in my den, definitely over LVP.
Any issue with this flooring ? Also how does it feel when walking on it being that you floated it to install. Looking at doing the same, but not sure if I should do a glue down method. Really don’t want to because the future nightmare but I want it to feel solid under the feet.
Hi guys, New to your channel. How are the floors holding up? I'm in the process of going to get the same floor. Just wanted to know if that will be a good purchase for our flooring.
I can’t stand the cheap click lock crap. Any imperfection in the floor makes it such a pain to install. So much easier to just slide pieces together and staple/nail down.
If you like a more narrow plank look, go with solid hardwood. If you like a wider plank look, go with engineered hardwood with a top layer that is thick enough it can be sanded and refinished at least a couple times. Both should last a lifetime. LVP is garbage and I learned my lesson the hard way. It can't be repaired/refinished, it has to be replaced. LVP is a waste of money for anything other than a cheap rental property.

The new doors are lovely - and so is the flooring :-D
Thank you so much!!
You're getting close to 100K. Best of luck!!! Can't wait to see you reno your deck.
We are so close!! Deck reno should be get started this coming summer 😁
Thanks for walking through your thought process on picking the type of floor! I didn’t know how big of difference there was in price and durability!
Glad it was helpful!

How did you fix the subfloor?

Great Job! Love your content!! was having withdrawal issues between videos
Thank you!! I try to post at least every other week but it’s tough to edit and get work done 😅

interesting to see y'all did the floors before the walls. I'm guessing no paint?
1/4 to 1/2" gap along the walls, how close to you get to the sliding doors on the final row? Thanks!

This is awesome - congrats!!! That mallet has some air miles on it!
Floors and doors both look great!❤

@@mickael486 No scratches for us, but depends on the dog haha
Love the floor! But how come no underlay?
Thanks! Most flooring options now have an underlayment already attached to the underside of each piece
@@GoldenKeyDesign ahh makes sense! Thanks :)

No, it’s been great!
@@GoldenKeyDesign Awesome! Thank you
If you didn’t already have hardwood in house and wanted to match. What floor would you have chosen
Probably engineered hardwood since I prefer wider planks
What color floor did you end up selecting?
I love the little bats on the window ;)

If you didn’t have hardwood, would you have gone lvp? Some of it looks exactly like wood.
do i have to lay plywood? the sub flooring i have is like large planks?

Welcome! Floors are holding up great! Great product for the price
no underlay? in Europe we always install a soft underlay layer
The flooring comes with underlayment attached.
I love it so far!
Great job guys. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Great job! Thanks for the video!
I’ve checked most of your videos and they grey thanks bud
Nice work
Thanks for sharing
No Asbestos?
Solid wood is best
Think it depends on your needs and budget, but it’s a great option!
Hey! I know yall still have projucts going on but it would be fun to show how Bianca will decorate for Christmas!
Spray the wallpaper fully with water. Itll come off very easily
We tried that 😅 check out the next episode
Laminate is the best

I agree it can be a pain but it often comes with a lower price tag too. Also certain click and lock systems are very high quality
I am mad about this man's legs, he has the best legs ever, thick hairy legs.
Great job btw, the floor looks fantastic.
