It would really be awesome if you two could find a way to partner more. Like consolidate branding a bit and work together! The chemistry between you two is really great, and the balance between you i or your styles is very complementary, I’ll still watch most of both your videos although the quality of content is so much better with both of you there!

As someone who follows you from in your shed: I absolutaly LOVE watching your vids, they're one of the things that help me getting trough some rough years in my life. Bit that's a different story. I really liked this (kind of) episode and if you don't mind me saying: I really believe it's for the better that you and Matt are going back to the "old" formula of keeping it just for the bigger or special things every now and then. You guys where way more spontanious back then. I missed that feeling the last couple of episodes.
It's better to make this descision now than when its possible to late and maybe cost your friendship.

Maybe you and Matt could get a even bigger studio and split it in two, split the costs and everything !!! You'd then be partner, each one with his own section, working on your own things and on your own channel, but you'd still see each other every day !! Wouldn't be so lonely !

You’re a genuinely good guy. So many people would act like they own Matt for giving him a platform and helping him get a strong start to his channel. I think this is why you’re so successful.
To be honest, your collaborations with Matt before were okay. An occasional break from the usual. But i like watching your old videos more. When it was more quiet & straight to the point aquascaping videos. Your channel during the pandemic was a great escape from all that's happening around us back then. Looking forward for more! 🥂
Matt was a great addition to the channel. Instead of just being an employee you should have made him an equal partner. I could see you guys expanding to a huge studio with endless possibilities, with both of you doing quite well as a team.

I love these maintenance updates because you do a great job with initial setup and getting started but I always wonder how much work goes into keeping the live plants going down the road. I am sorry to hear we get less MD/Matt but happy for Matt's channel growing because he provides a different view of the hobby that pairs well. Love your work, keep it going!

This is going to be very unpopular opinion but for me md has given Matt the platform to be successful clearly shown him how to set up a successful social media platform and the moment he has he’s gone . That’s how I feel and mds face looks like that’s how he feels to. He’s not going to say that but that’s how it looks to me and that’s honestly how I would feel to .
Aww, sad to hear but almost obvious as I think most of us follow you both. I do love the playful banter with you both, so will be looking forward to seeing occasional projects. New to this hobby. I started with a second hand 200ltr tank and a bunch of accessories and NO knowledge base! So endless U Tube videos and reading. Your videos have been most helpful in this regard. I’m kind of gutted that we won’t get to watch you two bouncing off each other as much anymore.
I thought it would happen for a bit longer tbh, especially after you welcoming him to the studio and buying him a sofa/his own work space, but if he’s still coming over sometimes to help it should be fun to watch your antics.
I respect that you have encouraged Matt and supported him starting/maintaining his own YT channel. Without you, he probably wouldn’t have been able to grow his channel so fast, so he’s lucky in that sense.

Don’t get me wrong talked to Matt loads of time in the shop always sought him out very knowledgable on all fish but never comes across as good on his home videos.after all you took him to America gave him all those tanks to work with you’ve been very polite in what you said about him good on you probably still a kick in the balls.

I think they both have a lot of unique and interesting ideas. I'm sure md would be the first one to say that having access to Matt's knowledge has been a huge asset to him as he grew as an aquascaper. Why someone would feel the need to put one friend down to boost up another I can't understand...the rest of us will be out here happy for them both and wishing them both well

I built my mbuna tank about the same time you did yours. I have the same results here! They are thriving, they are doing so well that I had 2 or 3 spawning already and now I have almost doubled the population and I don't know what to do LOLOL. I love them, they are active and really nice to watch. I have a bunch of anubias on the tank as well and they are doing great. I need to work on the amount of waste tho. The powerhead you have might be the solution for me as well.
While I'll miss Matt, I'm excited for this new era and knowing that you'll still work on builds together here and there seems like the best of both worlds considering that means we'll also get more videos from his channel! Kudos to you helping him make that jump 👏 looking forward to the upcoming videos

Like many, when I saw the title, I was in a slight panic. “Oh my gosh, did MD and Matt have a falling out? What happened???” Was my initial thought. Then I was quickly reassured that that’s not the case and I’m very happy about that.
Matt is incredibly lucky to have someone to help him get through that scary transition and it warms my heart to hear that Matt’s channel is successful enough where that scariness isn’t so much that he feels he still needs you as a security blanket. I’m sure you both will collaborate with each other in the future and I can’t wait to see what is in store for the both of you!! Congrats to Matt of course. Although I'm one of his subscribers as well, I will miss not seeing him on your channel as much, however. I always enjoy the camaraderie.
On another note, did anyone else notice some new inhabitants (Clownfish!!) near the back of the Saltwater aquarium between 6:05 and 6:15? I think we may have gotten a sneak preview.
Sad to see Matt go on his own, from this channel's perspective. I really liked the different creativity that he added to the channel. I do hope everything is alright with you two, I mean, it is a bit odd to me why he wouldnt join you for some sort of conversation where you discuss it together instead of you announcing this on your own. Bit of an odd choice, if you ask me.

I am a bonsai and succulent hobbyist and thought you might like to know a couple things. Those big chunky roots are more for storing, and the fine roots on trees are what absorb water and nutrients the most, so that form of growth is great! And redness in plants is actually a stress response to sun! Some species and varieties get it more than others, but that’s why more light gets you more red!
MD, You are so creative and talented! That will never change! I love 💕 the update type videos and totally enjoy when your lovely wife is there!

LOVED this episode - enjoy seeing the tanks we’ve seen you build now more mature, and also the fish behaviors/interactions when feeding! If anything, I wish Matt were also in it briefly to explain the departure, but I’m sure we’ll see him again and I started following his channel as well. Great length video as well, sometimes I like the shorter ones for variation!

I can see Matt running out of room quickly like you did and having to get an actual space to do his scaping. You two together was gold in my opinion. I'm really glad your both doing well!
I'll miss seeing Matt on the channel as much but it's great to hear things are going so well with his own channel. Twice as much content to look forward to now I suppose!
Good on you for helping out others achieve their dreams. I tell people I like an organic looking tank. People get that a little better in my experience.
