I particularly enjoy those aquascapes of yours where you deliberately leave room for visible caves and crevices for the fish to swim in and out of instead of over-planting and obscuring those gaps.
I love Mat having more camera time and talking more. This dynamic is dope. Mat is very informative asf. NewYork in the building by way of the Bronx. U should really go fish shopping in Florida.
Australis is just Latin for southern. Australia is so named because it's in the Southern hemisphere, so that species you mentioned just has to be south of something to be named Australis, instead of having to be in Australia. Could be the southernmost member of its Genus, could be that it is found across (most of) the Southern hemisphere, etc etc.
Matt's reaction to MD's suggestion @30:09 is essentially me when my boss asks me to do something thats easy to start but a pain to keep up, "you deal with the aftermath"
I look forward to your videos each week! Great job that you guys do. I learned a really funny trick by accident........If you hold down the "spacer bar" on your keyboard as you watch the videos, it speeds them up! Watch especially the part where Matt is putting the Malawi cichlids in the bare-bottom tank. Really funny!
I notice awkward phrase between MD and Matt in old videos. now they are best buds. loving the energy between the two and Matt becoming more comfortable in front of cameras.
Totally addicted to your channel! I keep rewatching your old videos while waiting for new uploads..and it feels like Christmas morning each time I see a new one is up ;D Loving you guys, you just make my day..more please!!
Gorgeous angels! I love them! And it was so much fun seeing you guys as happy and excited as kids in a giant candy store, hee!😂I'll definitely be looking forward to seeing what kind of amazing scapes you guys will be coming up with for all these different beauties!
I am so glad you guys are now working together, you just work so will together and are so entertaining with great ideas and information! I always look forward to seeing you guys next video’s 👌🏻 keep up the good work!!!
Size in relation to dominance among fish species is so fascinating to me. I'll use my community tank as an example. I have two female betta, 10 chili rasbora, 6 ember tetras, 6 celestial pearl danios, and 2 orange zebra otocinclus. The otocinclus are neither at the top or the bottom, they go with the flow and nobody interacts them. The chili rasboras, despite being individually small, are the largest school and they run the show. The males guard the central cave, and only allow two specific ember tetras, both the otocinclus, and one of the betta to enter that cave. It's off limits to anyone else - the males and females combined will chase unwanted visitors from their cave. They also occupy the lower portion of the back of the tank. I think the size of the school plays a major role in the territorial behavior of the rasboras, but I also think it's personality. They have all been super confident from day one, to the point where nothing scares them. Once, the larger of the female betta gave one of the female rasboras a "what are you?" peck on the side, did zero harm but you'd expect a tiny fish like that to flinch or retreat, but she basically ignored it. Funniest thing i've ever seen.
Mulies and lucis are bigger than petricolas! Lucis look very similar! I have them in my tank and they are cheeky catfish haha but so fun to watch them swim upside down! Granulosis are amazing too! I had 2 but are with my friend in a bigger tank as a bigger group now as they are more active like that
Synodontis multipunctatus, also known as the cuckoo catfish. breed by eating the cichlid eggs and replacing them with theirs. they only do it with haps or peacock sized cichlids. as well as zebra cichlids
That hoodie is really cool and your content is so cool you making owing fish so cool and the aqua scapes you make are awesome thank you so much I’m from New Bedford Massachusetts
The angel fish you guys stopped to talk about at 31:20 it's cause it has an eyebrow line in its pattern that makes it look so funny hahaha cool fish/video guys!absolutely love how everything is coming
guys if you are going up to sanders it might be worth a couple of miles to cheddar garden centre(maidenhead aquatics)...my mate Dan runs it...its only small but his attention to detail is fantastic...
MD I saw in one of your videos you'd not seen a male bristle nose. I got 2 bristle nose a few months ago from Martin at Maidenhead Aquatics Taunton now have a female and male ❤. Really enjoy your videos with Matt. I was hoping to send you a photo but not able to on here.
great list of fish! I love hearing Killifish awareness, especially as an exotic killifish breeder based in the South-eastern US. Thank you for the info I had no idea no Killifish were native to Australia. ~Cheers!
Have you tried Chain Loach yet? They are very playful and fun to watch when they are settled and it would be great to see what you would do for a Malaysian aquascape!
Fish Recommendation you guys might like. Blue-eyes or pseudomugil are a genus of nano fish from Australia and Papua New Guinea. Small enough to put with dwarf shrimp with much of the colour of the larger rainbow fish. I think you'll really enjoy them as they are something different. I don't see many people outside of Australia talking about. A seriously underrated type of fish. I've got a tank of spotted blue eyes and am planning on getting some forktailed blue eyes or red neon blue eyes in the tank that I'm in the middle of setting up. We'll see what I can get my hands on when my tank is finished cycling and ready for fish.
@@kiku-goldenflower7731 I haven't fully researched types and suitability yet, though they seem to cope with a wide temperature range (10-28C). Will depend a bit on cost and availability.
I have Paska's Blue-eyes with Amapeansis Tetra and older Blue green Neon Tetras, all schooling together in a 160l tank (basically some 35 tiny fish plus a group of Corydoras Nanus). Blue-eyes are cool. Their behavior sets them apart from tetras, but complement them nicely and stay closer to the top.
The Malawi Tank is gorgeous! It would be nice to see how you would set up a Yellow Chromide Chichlid Tank replicating a small rock-pool. I remember keeping such Chichlids many years ago.
Yep, Antarctica would Killi the Killifish 🤣... BTW I could listen to these guys talk about Tanks and Fish and Landscapes all day, and I love it that Matt just goes off into his own little fishy world-of-watching, because he never knows when MD is filming lol 👍😁👍❤🤗❤
what happens if you move those long lights closer to the front of the tank? I would expect that it would illuminate the side of the fish you can see better and maybe even reduce algae on the front glass. I am not able to test this theory out as I still don't have an aquarium (I had one as a teenager and I watch this channel with the hope that one day I can have an aquarium again!)

You know it! 😂

Ha ha ha! Like kids on Christmas morning 🤣🤣
I’d recheck your synodontis! The insert picture was certainly not a multip. And it looked as if you had them reversed in the bags.
I do not have fish but I find your channel entertaining and educational.
The angel fish you guys stopped to talk about at 31:20 it's cause it has an eyebrow line in its pattern that makes it look so funny hahaha cool fish/video guys!absolutely love how everything is coming

I am wanting to get some for an outdoor pond as they eat mosquito lavae and are tadpole friendly.
@mumsageek1883 Cool, you live somewhere warm I take it. Which blue eyes specifically are you thinking of getting?

@PaulZyCZ Awesome, they are really pretty.

So there are killi’s in the Arctic. Wow!
I love the blue angelfish they look amazing in a group, you should get some. I bred them a few years back.
(...)bit chilly- ish for Killifish

Awesome. Love the videos. Keep up the amazing work.
Lovely fish!
But would love to see some rare south American dwarf cichlids, e.g. Taeniacara Candidi in one of your beautiful tanks thou..
About time Aquaflur stepped up 😂
My daffodil cichlids breed like lab mice. I had at least 3 generations going.
Zoanthids my favourite coral. Easy colourful and cheap.

The big bare tank made me sad😂 great vid ❤
Absolutely loved this!!
Thank god your getting proper catfish 👌👌👌
Great video guys, excited to see how all the holding tanks turn out after they are scaped!
16:27 someone just got roommates 😂
the flip over rubber band method you just pull the top and it comes loose. so actually easier ;)
Happy Birthday!!! 🎉🐟🐠
yes, almost done! I've been stretching it out all day lmao! butttt, the angel fish with the white eye, also has an eyebrow!😊
Assistant turned off my tv, thanks for that 😂
The Malawi Tank is gorgeous! It would be nice to see how you would set up a Yellow Chromide Chichlid Tank replicating a small rock-pool. I remember keeping such Chichlids many years ago.
Now that Matt has officially joined the team, or should I say now that we permanently have a team, I would love to see another go at a Discus tank!
Yep, Antarctica would Killi the Killifish 🤣... BTW I could listen to these guys talk about Tanks and Fish and Landscapes all day, and I love it that Matt just goes off into his own little fishy world-of-watching, because he never knows when MD is filming lol 👍😁👍❤🤗❤
adding shop water directly into your tank?
Love all the fish selection…👍🏽☺️
Question…do the Killies require a lid? I have always heard the are prone to jumping…
I'd love to know more about those kilifish!
So happy to see you get Synodontis catfish.

Haven't watched yet but I'm excited
Are you able to just plop a bag of bio media in a tank like that is it still effective?
great video as useual.
where did you order the african malawi from?
That one angel fish looked angry, think it's his pattern by the eye!!!
Ooo how exciting guys xxx
