I get lake trout /walleye with one right now on lake erie. The white one works on cloudy/rainy days for me.
I’ve been catching bass and walleye on white swimbaits this year.

I’ve had respectable luck with this set up. I wouldn’t call it a go to, but it will put Bass in the boat. I would rather have it in my tackle box than be without.
It’s not worth paying full price. It’s a good lure to buy on sale or close out.
How’s your hookup ratio with it? I’ve had some good day with it and other days where I can’t seem to keep a hook in them. I do find them on sale often. They look great in the water also.

I was pretty excited to use these. I bought several different sizes and colors, and tried them out on Grand Lake O' The Cherokees. The action looked good, the size seemed right....but nothing. At the same time I was using these, I was also throwing a rattle trap and a shaky head rigged senko. Both the rattle trap and the senko were getting hooked up frequently, with not one strike on the searchbait. I wouldn't have guessed that at all. I'm going to put in some more time with it, and see if I can't figure out a pattern that works for me as I'm sure it's something that I'm doing wrong.
Maybe they just weren’t hitting the swimbait, I have caught fish but I kinda feel that the hook is a bit small, I’ve missed some fish that I had good hooksets on. It is a killer looking bait for sure. Good luck with it!
@@MidwestBassHunter yeah, I think so. I'm going to commit to it in the morning, hopefully it pays off. I bought a ton of these things, based on their look so I'm hoping they pay off.

Yes they do, how has your hookup ratio been? Sometimes I miss a few.
Midwest Bass Hunter the hook up ratio is great. However I sometimes hook them outside the mouth.
I ended up buying literally just the jig from this kit. Now I'm thinking about grabbing the rest 😅

The thing that was interesting to me is it's advertised as an all species bait, do you think decent sized trout would spring for this

Big problem, they only come with one jig head. Huge no for me. If they came with 3 jig heads I would have bought them this weekend at big 5.
I hear ya, just so you know you can buy the jigs heads by themselves and maybe the plastics separately as well.

What are throwing for cold water lures, besides this one?
Dan Thompson actually, I've done best with finesse worms, wacky rig, have caught a few on big swimbaits, this bait works great in the cold also
My cousin is going to be in town next week and we are gonna throw lures pretty hard for 2 days. I'm going to downsize, jigs w/chunks, small white crankbaits, dynamite, etc. I'll report to you my results.

Do you slow retrieve or fast retrieve
Slow to moderate but anything that keeps it under the water will work. Depends what the fish want.
@@MidwestBassHunter I bought the 3.5 chartreuse and it smashes the pond I fish at what size is good for the lake
That’s as close to real fish swimming as have seen yet for a lure.
