@@vinuzo9548 Sorry for the delay in replying, I was on holiday and not checking my mail. I can't remember exactly how long it took but I was doing it every day and, I guess it took a couple of weeks, so let's say about 15 attempts.
I love how positive and relaxing you are. I love following your video and I feel really good about just taking a break whenever I feel like it. There are so many fitness and workout videos where you just feel like a loser because you can't keep up with it on the internet. Thanks for being a real motivation!
This comment will likely not be seen, but I’ve just started to incorporate this workout into my daily workout routine. It’s literally the first thing I do in the morning. My abs are still getting the electric shocks (don’t know what to call them), and I’m feeling and seeing a difference. This video kicks a** #theBest
I keep coming back to this core routine, sometimes doing it twice in succession. The routine is great, the music is so serene and Josh’s movement to each position is poised; a real pro.
I have not heard of anyone on any YT videos talking about being blasted or fatigued quickly from intense workout holds/moves/positions. It's a THING. Thank you for being real. I have felt so bad about myself not knowing this was a "thing" before TO-DAY. I thought it was just me and would go through the mental checklist of "sleep? nutrition? age? hormone imbalance? hydration?" and come up baffled.
This exercise sequence is the salvation for me ;-) I have had back problems for years. Now I do these exercises every morning and the day goes much better. Only the exercise "Full Hollow Body Hold" I can't do, I end up in the lordosis again and it hurts my back, not my stomach! Thank you for this great 10 min exercise sequence!
I do this every Sunday morning as a marker of where my core is at from one week to another. I do core work everyday ,but his one is the most difficult ! The 60 second extended hollow hold is always a challenge, but so rewarding when it’s done! Thanks for all your videos.
my gym visits are now enjoyable, I used to tire quickly, tired after the gym, with stiffness afterwards, wow, I now walk effortless on the treadmill, I enjoy walking, and I mean 40 to 60 minutes walk, just walk walk and walk, and I owe this to the strength side approach to life and exercise. Thank you
First of all I am in awe of your knowledge, instinctive teaching ability and innate sincerity. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have been working out and conditioning since age 14 (HS freshman track) and 41 years later I have learned a thing or two, both from teachers and my experience. I learn something from you each time. I do the side planks you show at 3:52 but I hold them for 75 sec each side which is difficult but doable. I hold the front planks for 2 minutes. I know some people do longer but 2 minutes seem optimum.
i love this routine. Gives me a lot of confidence - I'm almost able to keep up! It's funny because I thought of my core to be very week because I keep getting lower back compensation with situps and co. Guess we're made for L sits, not for crunching.
@Strength Side I dearly hope you will read this comment! I would love to hear a clue or word when the exercise is over - I am not constantly looking at the screen, sometimes feeling like dying in the exercise and when I look at the screen again, you are already done `:D Hopefully you change this in the future (or have already) :) otherwise, superb as always!
Bro, M not sure if anybody told you this but your voice is just great. Very composed & calm. You should try your some podcats too.Its perfect for podcasts😀 And yeah, no need to say great video as always.. keep it up👍
Agreed! I love listening to him explain stuff. Sometimes I just listen to his videos while doing other stuff. Having to go back to see just what he was doing. :P
very exaggerated statement. avarage american voice. treasure voices with beautifull male pronounciation are still to find only in UK and sometimes in Australia
Thank you...with no weights at home and living in JerZ where you pretty much have nowhere to go these follow a longs have been crucial to keeping me sane and loose...thank you
This is great. I’ve been getting sick of my usual few abs exercises I do at the end of my lifting. I’m going to start throwing this in instead to shake thing up. Thanks for posting! Saved.
Love it! Just recently found your stuff. I've been weight training, but needed to add mobility to my routine. My goal is keep up with my kids and future grand kids more than bulking up.
Super helpful to know to keep the back flat by pushing it it towards the ground. Didnt realize how weak my core actually is when the very first move was difficult. Good stuff man
Did this routine today. I definitely feel it a little bit. Cardio low intensity afterwards. I will be doing this for the next 30 days with my routine. Thank you!
great stuff, I’m doing this exercise every other week rotating with other core stuff. I might be helpful especially for beginners if you would advice on correct breathing while doing these. thanks for your work brother
Wonderful! I love that these are mostly static and not putting extra wear and tear on my spine (like trad crunches etc) This and the split squats are changing my body and helping my mind :D
Thanks Josh. I really liked this and was surprised I could even do these. I’ve been using your leg and core video a while now and I also making your hip video part of my routine, too. Thanks again, I’m feeling great!
Wow your videos are amazing, so professional and easy to follow, technically correct and does what it says on the tin. Thank you for sharing, love your energy.
I made myself a routine: 1. TRUE BEGGINER 2. THE VIDEO BY THE SCHOOL 3. CORE WORKOUT All three sum no more than 35-40 min. Im trying to do it every day. Feeling so good since then. Thank you!
I had some time in between clients today so instead of sitting down and watching your super kool vids, I followed along for one in the morning and one at lunch and now one in the afternoon! I’m gonna get ripped! One day. Lol
Yooooo those side hollow holds are legit. Kept with you closely and gonna keep this in my routine. Gonna feel this tomorrow. Thanks for the great content bro!
Managed to hold it for the same amount of time as in the vid after a few months away from training. Pretty happy. Side hollow balance is way trickier than you think. Great video :)
Thank you for this awesome routine. I loooove follow along videos. In the future can you make sure to verbalize when time is up for each exercise because sometimes I didn't realize you switched sides if I was only listening and not watching. ❤
I like this. Could’ve used a notification when the extended hollow hold was done. Am I expected to focus on my workout or the video, ya know? I’ve found this can be an issue with a few videos I’ve done so far. Maybe it’s the vibe, but I prefer to be notified when the set is finished, when the break is finished, and so on. That way I don’t have to keep turning my head to the phone and can keep my mind on the task at hand. thanks for all your content! EDIT - Side hollow holds were the same thing 🤦♂️ I’ll be sure I don’t look away I guess. 🤷🏻♂️
Hey Josh, great video as always! Btw, could one of your next video be a weekly routine sample? It would be nice to know how you organise your training during the week. Something like, on monday I do this, on Tuesday I do that, etc. It could become a video series. P.S. Sorry for my bad English.
Extended hollow hold was the toughest. great core workout. I like how you slowly move on to different exercises taking time.your follow along is the best.
I love this workout because I genuinely don’t know day-to-day whether I’m gonna reach 60 seconds on the hollow hold. How do you guys manage your breath during it? That and nutrition timing are the biggest factors in whether I hit the target or not.
Started this is a daily morning routine today, along with trying intermittent fasting. Hoping to knock down a few pounds and tone up. Thanks for sharing this @thebasicgentlemen
Great Josh, an idea for a next video : How to breath during exercise ? I m sure a lot of us out there hold their breath ... specially during core exercises. Personally tried to breath slowly with the bottom of my rib cage and or belly. (depending of the situation) Saw that on movnat and katy bowman courses.

Great video. Would love if you could add a little audio of when you start and finish the exercise to know how much time has passed :)
Awesome. Thank you for making this accessible and easy to understand.
That is so chill love it hope it’s also effective. Cause easy compared to movement exercises
