Not exactly ... 1. What it tells us is that God knows the hearts. 2. That Joseph was a Righteous Man before Him and man. 3. That Grace ran abundantly in Joseph's life, because of his righteousness. 4. That some things are Pre-Ordained, like the coming of Jesus at a certain point in the past, and again in the future. 5. That God is EXTREMELY clear in scripture about our Free-Will 6. And He has revealed to us, time and time again, about our complete freedom to chose to Cooperate with Grace or to Not Cooperate with His Grace.
Growing up Buddhist I never thought that God in His great mercy would save someone like me but He did, He found me when I was a runaway rebellious teenager. I believe that He sent His Angel to help rescue me from the streets unharmed. The next day I was sent to a home for troubled teens which was the most traumatizing experience that I've ever had, it was terrible but the one thing they did let us do was go the church ( a good Baptist church) it was there that I received Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior. This film made a huge impact in my life and I'm forever grateful to have watched it during those hard times in the girls home. God took this horrible situation to call me as His own. Joseph goes through many trials and heartaches before his greatness. God is preparing His children for His Glory.
Jesus give me strength. I’m trying to balance everything on my own, but Lord I feel like I’m failing miserably as a single mother. Both sons are special needs I’m so overwhelmed trying to support them on my own. I’m struggling to make ends meet, to pay bills, and to put food on the table for my children. Jesus guide me and give me strength. I have faith you will carry me through this difficult time.❤️

I'm still watching this and this is my testimony feel love and this is the loved I give but ending up getting betrayal lied to heartbroken when I need them. Its been 6 months my spouse walk out on me because she's toxic which I know but still love an cared for her even now as I type with a free mind but a very painfully heart and I tried so hard to show her how she means to my an in my life even when I know she's seeing someone else and we live together. she help me to become someone I myself didn't see in me, and from before all these trauma build up and happen I prayed to god night and day for a good life with this girl ,we both made a vowed to each other but she breaks tide after she noticed a good man is getting a lot of toxicity and its starts to take place by action she leaves and that was her aim tom leave after she has 2 miscarriage for me. but I just try to work on myself more these days and leave the rest to the lord Jesus, it seems forever but I know he will reconcile my heart some day again amen.. at lease my heart was clean all of our life together and my family's and people who betrayal me will meet the rath of god as much as they drove me into insanity back then and now that I've free myself they're gonna face theirs by god to what they did to me. there's not a single day that goes on these things don't haunted me in my sleep and thoughts everyday, and i have to fight it out mentally physically spiritually tl keep strong and healthy in those stage because what happen to me is Worster than a man been beyond bars for 30 years but god heals praise him hallelujah;..

I am so glad I came across this movie, Joseph was an example for me to still trust him in spite of it all. One of the most Dramatic of Bible stories. The beginning of this movie was so intense and captivating, but the end was less... This is the most intense of my Bible stories filled with the presence of God. I never finish Genesis without loads of tears, Never. I missed this intensity at at around the quarter end of this movie but it's still a great movie. Thanks...👏👏👏
Joseph's story shows us that when we fix our gaze on God and choose to rely on him, even the heaviest situations can be made lighter. Remember that “God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love him” (Romans 8:28).
God is in charge of each of Our Lives everyday. We all just have to give our Gracious Father and our Lord permission to open up all of the Windows of Heaven that are waiting for us, so we all can blossom into the things our Father would have us to be. Why is it that we resist the inspiration that comes constantly from our Heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus Christ? The more time we give to our Father and Lord daily the more we will receive beyond our understanding. This great story of Joseph is a excellent lesson of forgiveness is good for us all. How much longer are we willing to hold on to our anger towards others. Anger and hate is ungodly and people think they are going to Heaven when they worship the wrong god. How can God forgive us when we can't forgive others. My God and my Lord Jesus Christ is only about love kindness a charitable heart even a peaceful heart for one another even your neighbor.
This was a well-made movie, one of the greatest forgiveness stories ever told. Sure there's others but this was a tearjerker. Only way you can heal your broken heart and Hate is to pray for those that hurt you, that's the way it works. I'm sure you would have to make yourself pray for those who hurt you, no worries at first it's hard but it gets easier. Obedience is 100% of the law.
One of the best done biblical movies I've seen. As a very knowledgeable Bible student of scripture, very accurate in its account. One of the most revealing areas of scripture depicting how Gods will is purposed through his faithful servants. Is beautiful how Gods grace is revealed through the brothers and mercy as well as restoration and redemption.
The acting, filming, and storyline was GREAT. What even make it greater is that it follows the Scriptures about 98%. Which is super-good for a movie. The only part that was not accurate was when the brothers took the weapons from the Egyptian soldiers and held the weapons against the soldiers and Joseph. Actually, in according to the Scriptures.,.. Judah, who suggested selling the Joseph as a slave, is also the one who pleated for Benjamin life. Which is portrayed in the movie, but not to the full extend as it is described in the Scriptures. Israel (Jacob) would not accept his oldest son, Reuben, to safeguard Benjamin, but he did trust Judah. Why? Because Judah's life was changed from hating Joseph to trusting God when he demonstrated it when Judah's granted Mercy and Grace to his daughter-in-law. (I am glad this movie covered this, Most movies eliminated this) Because of this, Judah pleaded for Benjamin, and Joseph granted Mercy and Grace upon Judah and his brothers. Even though the Story is called "Joseph", it is actually should be called "Joseph & Judah". Here Joseph is representing God the Son, Jesus Christ and his Mercy and Grace upon all mankind of those who will accept it, and Judah is representing man and his sin and the change in our lives when we accept Jesus Mercy and Grace by believing/trusting in Him. Again, Great move.
When I first saw this version, decades ago, I too read the scriptures to compare accuracy. The other difference was when Joseph finally revealed himself to his brothers, his wailing and crying was heard all through the palace so pharaoh himself heard him. I can just imagine his release of 14 years (before his appointment by pharoah) of brutal vicious undeserved cruelty and abuse he suffered all because of his brothers envy. Just pray. Tell Jesus you want to serve him and humanity. Tell Him you understand you have sinned against Him and you repent of this and ask His forgiveness. You immediately have that forgiveness, even if you do not realize that. Go out and sin no more. Get a Bible in whatever language you speak. Spend at least a couple of sessions a day reading or listening and in deep contemplation or prayer asking g the Holy spirit to invade your heart and soul. You may not notice anything at first. But your heart and mind will gradually start being able to hear the voice of God. . If you do not read, get an audio Bible. Then find a mentor. As you get closer and closer, and as you are able to open your mind and heart more and more, there will be attacks by Satan. Someone who has been through this before can help you with this and understand what is happening Right now, due to the age we are living in there is an anti Christian bias. Please don’t be angry at people , family and friends who want to disassociate with you because of this. And don’t overwhelm them with preaching. First finish getting your relationship with the Lord in order, and let your own light shine. But the mentor will help you to know when and where the time is right to evangelize. This and serving others is one of our primary calls. You will hear a lot of people tell you go to this church or that one. Always always listen to God on this. We are currently in the last days and there are a lot of false teachers and religions out there. I attend Calvary Chapel in my city because they are into verse by verse Bible study. I find an imperfect but living body of believers in my congregation. That may be a good place in your community to start, but they are not the only ones. There are others for sure. But you can google Calvary Chapel near me. Once you attend go forward at the end of the service and tell them your situation and that you feel in need of a mentor to disciple you. We had this movie on VHS back in the day...this movie got my whole family to sit down and enjoy each others company. This movie cassette was a family heirloom becuz nobody wanted to give the movie back. I always loved biblical movies. There is no "story of Joseph" told, depicted or made better than this. Ever. Excellent acting and legendary actors brought the long forgotten story of the man that saved millions of lives in a famine.. Egypt and became the Pharaoh's friend. The power of forgiveness is easier after watching this.

This is truly my favourite story in the Old Testament! When I'm tired of waiting for my prayers to be answered or when I'm in despair, seeing how unfairly I've been treated, I'm reminded of Joseph's tragic ordeal, and of course, his final triumph; for our God never forsakes us, and His timing is not the same as ours. It's no wonder that 'patience' is one of the 'Fruits of the Spirit'... Knowing myself, I would have been inclined to give up on God. But time and time again, the Lord has come through for me, even up till the 11th hour - something which strengthens my faith. Gradually and steadily I'm getting to where I need to be in my faith. Praise God for not giving up on me.
Amen!! Same here... The life of Joseph gives me strength, too. It would be easy to despair, when we see that doing the right thing is being punished, not rewarded... but GOD is the rewarder of those who seek Him. We live to please Him, no one else.

There was only one man who followed after GODS own heart, that was Noah, infact during the time of Noah, there was plenty of time to change their hearts before the flood came, and yet, peoples hearts were unchanged. The time period I am referring to was the time Noah began building the ark to its completion, which took 100 years to complete.

Me too. Such a beautiful story of love and forgiveness. There are lessons to learn. We as parents can not create jealousy among our children by preferring one child among the others. This was a hard lesson to each one of the family members.

I was in tears when the 10 brothers repented for the evil and joyfully with tears happy to see Compassion in action by Joseph!! 03 Key statements I noted from what Joseph said in the movie: 1. With God his silence is not his absence. Always have faith and trust on him. 2. Forgiveness is greater than vengeance! 3. Compassion more powerful than Anger! No other OT store tells us of Jesus like Joseph. A simple shepherd, hated and sold out by his own brothers.He becomes second only to the throne, He comes to them and they don't recognize him. Yet, He still loves them with all His heart and provides for them. Was dead, yet alive again! and the day came when they all recognized him and fell at his feet!
Joseph was a Hebrew. How could he have managed the entire Egyptian Economy without speaking or knowing the Egyptian language? The next day I was sent to a home for troubled teens which was the most traumatizing experience that I've ever had, it was terrible but the one thing they did let us do was go the church ( a good Baptist church) it was there that I received Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior. This film made a huge impact in my life and I'm forever grateful to have watched it during those hard times in the girls home. God took this horrible situation to call me as His own. Joseph goes through many trials and heartaches before his greatness. God is preparing His children for His Glory.

I'm still watching this and this is my testimony feel love and this is the loved I give but ending up getting betrayal lied to heartbroken when I need them. Its been 6 months my spouse walk out on me because she's toxic which I know but still love an cared for her even now as I type with a free mind but a very painfully heart and I tried so hard to show her how she means to my an in my life even when I know she's seeing someone else and we live together. she help me to become someone I myself didn't see in me, and from before all these trauma build up and happen I prayed to god night and day for a good life with this girl ,we both made a vowed to each other but she breaks tide after she noticed a good man is getting a lot of toxicity and its starts to take place by action she leaves and that was her aim tom leave after she has 2 miscarriage for me. but I just try to work on myself more these days and leave the rest to the lord Jesus, it seems forever but I know he will reconcile my heart some day again amen.. at lease my heart was clean all of our life together and my family's and people who betrayal me will meet the rath of god as much as they drove me into insanity back then and now that I've free myself they're gonna face theirs by god to what they did to me. there's not a single day that goes on these things don't haunted me in my sleep and thoughts everyday, and i have to fight it out mentally physically spiritually tl keep strong and healthy in those stage because what happen to me is Worster than a man been beyond bars for 30 years but god heals praise him hallelujah;..

This is the most intense of my Bible stories filled with the presence of God. I never finish Genesis without loads of tears, Never. How much longer are we willing to hold on to our anger towards others. Anger and hate is ungodly and people think they are going to Heaven when they worship the wrong god. How can God forgive us when we can't forgive others. My God and my Lord Jesus Christ is only about love kindness a charitable heart even a peaceful heart for one another even your neighbor.

This was a well-made movie, one of the greatest forgiveness stories ever told. Sure there's others but this was a tearjerker. Only way you can heal your broken heart and Hate is to pray for those that hurt you, that's the way it works. I'm sure you would have to make yourself pray for those who hurt you, no worries at first it's hard but it gets easier. Obedience is 100% of the law.

One of the best done biblical movies I've seen. As a very knowledgeable Bible student of scripture, very accurate in its account. One of the most revealing areas of scripture depicting how Gods will is purposed through his faithful servants. Is beautiful how Gods grace is revealed through the brothers and mercy as well as restoration and redemption.

The acting, filming, and storyline was GREAT. What even make it greater is that it follows the Scriptures about 98%. Which is super-good for a movie. The only part that was not accurate was when the brothers took the weapons from the Egyptian soldiers and held the weapons against the soldiers and Joseph. Actually, in according to the Scriptures.,.. Judah, who suggested selling the Joseph as a slave, is also the one who pleated for Benjamin life. Which is portrayed in the movie, but not to the full extend as it is described in the Scriptures. Israel (Jacob) would not accept his oldest son, Reuben, to safeguard Benjamin, but he did trust Judah. Why? Because Judah's life was changed from hating Joseph to trusting God when he demonstrated it when Judah's granted Mercy and Grace to his daughter-in-law. (I am glad this movie covered this, Most movies eliminated this) Because of this, Judah pleaded for Benjamin, and Joseph granted Mercy and Grace upon Judah and his brothers. Even though the Story is called "Joseph", it is actually should be called "Joseph & Judah". Here Joseph is representing God the Son, Jesus Christ and his Mercy and Grace upon all mankind of those who will accept it, and Judah is representing man and his sin and the change in our lives when we accept Jesus Mercy and Grace by believing/trusting in Him. Again, Great move.

When I first saw this version, decades ago, I too read the scriptures to compare accuracy. The other difference was when Joseph finally revealed himself to his brothers, his wailing and crying was heard all through the palace so pharaoh himself heard him. I can just imagine his release of 14 years (before his appointment by pharoah) of brutal vicious undeserved cruelty and abuse he suffered all because of his brothers envy. Just pray. Tell Jesus you want to serve him and humanity. Tell Him you understand you have sinned against Him and you repent of this and ask His forgiveness. You immediately have that forgiveness, even if you do not realize that. Go out and sin no more. Get a Bible in whatever language you speak. Spend at least a couple of sessions a day reading or listening and in deep contemplation or prayer asking g the Holy spirit to invade your heart and soul. You may not notice anything at first. But your heart and mind will gradually start being able to hear the voice of God. . If you do not read, get an audio Bible. Then find a mentor. As you get closer and closer, and as you are able to open your mind and heart more and more, there will be attacks by Satan. Someone who has been through this before can help you with this and understand what is happening Right now, due to the age we are living in there is an anti Christian bias. Please don’t be angry at people , family and friends who want to disassociate with you because of this. And don’t overwhelm them with preaching. First finish getting your relationship with the Lord in order, and let your own light shine. But the mentor will help you to know when and where the time is right to evangelize. This and serving others is one of our primary calls. You will hear a lot of people tell you go to this church or that one. Always always listen to God on this. We are currently in the last days and there are a lot of false teachers and religions out there. I attend Calvary Chapel in my city because they are into verse by verse Bible study. I find an imperfect but living body of believers in my congregation. That may be a good place in your community to start, but they are not the only ones. There are others for sure. But you can google Calvary Chapel near me. Once you attend go forward at the end of the service and tell them your situation and that you feel in need of a mentor to disciple you. Many blessings and I will keep you in my prayers.

We had this movie on VHS back in the day...this movie got my whole family to sit down and enjoy each others company. This movie cassette was a family heirloom becuz nobody wanted to give the movie back. I always loved biblical movies. There is no "story of Joseph" told, depicted or made better than this. Ever. Excellent acting and legendary actors brought the long forgotten story of the man that saved millions of lives in a famine.. Egypt and became the Pharaoh's friend. The power of forgiveness is easier after watching this.

I never get tired of watching such films. It gives me more light to the Bible written part. Gives a picture to wat we read n this facilitates understanding
This is truly my favourite story in the Old Testament! When I'm tired of waiting for my prayers to be answered or when I'm in despair, seeing how unfairly I've been treated, I'm reminded of Joseph's tragic ordeal, and of course, his final triumph; for our God never forsakes us, and His timing is not the same as ours. It's no wonder that 'patience' is one of the 'Fruits of the Spirit'... Knowing myself, I would have been inclined to give up on God. But time and time again, the Lord has come through for me, even up till the 11th hour - something which strengthens my faith. Gradually and steadily I'm getting to where I need to be in my faith. Praise God for not giving up on me.

Amen!! Same here... The life of Joseph gives me strength, too. It would be easy to despair, when we see that doing the right thing is being punished, not rewarded... but GOD is the rewarder of those who seek Him. We live to please Him, no one else.

@@Peekaboo-Kitty, You are not taking credit for our part as humans. The book of Genesis records that man's heart became desperately wicked, and his thoughts were constantly evil all the time. There was only one man who followed after GODS own heart, that was Noah, infact during the time of Noah, there was plenty of time to change their hearts before the flood came, and yet, peoples hearts were unchanged. The time period I am referring to was the time Noah began building the ark to its completion, which took 100 years to complete.

I cried and cried all the way to end. God is good He provides everything in our life yesterday and today for us.
Me too. Such a beautiful story of love and forgiveness. There are lessons to learn. We as parents can not create jealousy among our children by preferring one child among the others. This was a hard lesson to each one of the family members.

What a great story that covers almost all aspects of sinful human nature, yet our Father in Heaven knows us exactly who we are deep inside; and still he is so merciful to plan such an amazing self-repenting way out for us like he did for these 10 brothers of Joseph!!
I was in tears when the 10 brothers repented for the evil and joyfully with tears happy to see Compassion in action by Joseph!!

1. With God his silence is not his absence. Always have faith and trust on him.
2. Forgiveness is greater than vengeance!

Praise God for Joseph! We learn a lot from his story.
No other OT store tells us of Jesus like Joseph. A simple shepherd, hated and sold out by his own brothers.He becomes second only to the throne, He comes to them and they don't recognize him. Yet, He still loves them with all His heart and provides for them. Was dead, yet alive again! and the day came when they all recognized him and fell at his feet!
Joseph was a Hebrew. How could he have managed the entire Egyptian Economy without speaking or knowing the Egyptian language? As if a King would have made an illiterate SLAVE the second most powerful man over their own Kingdom and over his own people! That's like saying Caesar gave everything to his captured Slave (Zoilos) who then rose to rule the Roman Empire! What a load of rubbish!
Jesus is a descendant of Judah.. the lion of the tribe. This is very well done account of Joseph.
