    Great cover. Wish my fingers could move as fast as yours across a guitar neck.

  • @makmanos
    @makmanos Год назад +1

    There are two versions of this fast sequence of 3 notes that is done from 0:51 onwards. The original one, which I think is what really Randy Rhodes did, and the one that you execute here. They differ on only one note. Where the 17-13-13 triads start , the 4th triad becomes 18-13-13. I believe Randy kept the 17-13-13 throughout the measure. However and with all due respect to the master of masters Randy, I enjoy this version you play it sounds so "right" to switch to 18-13-13 right at that moment and go back to 17-13-13 immediately afterwards.

    • @StephLeGratteux
      @StephLeGratteux  3 месяца назад

      Yes I think the solo is "doubled" on the original recording, and both versions are slightly different. It was something guitarist did sometimes back then. The other example that first comes to my mind is the first solo of The Four Horsemen (the second part of this solo actually).

  • @jonshaw9472
    @jonshaw9472 2 года назад +1

    Wow, you're a damn fine player Steph..
    Would you say this is one of the hardest solos you have done because it certainly looks like it?.. this is the sort of solo which gives me cramp in my fingers very quickly.. my son has just started talking about Randy Rhoads and was playing Crazy Train when I told him to listen to Mr Crowley...amazing job.

    • @StephLeGratteux
      @StephLeGratteux  2 года назад +1

      Thanks! I don't think this is the hardest I have posted. Some Dave's solos are harder and probaly a few other ones too. Actually it's so melodic that it's easy to memorize.

    Félicitations parce qu'il est difficile.
    La descente en triolet de double croche faut arriver à l'envoyer :)

    • @StephLeGratteux
      @StephLeGratteux  2 года назад +2

      Merci. Pas si dur que ça en fait. Et la descente, je l'ai faite de manière aléatoire car on entend clairement sur l'original ou les lives que certaines notes jouées ne sont pas dans la gamme. Mais à cette vitesse ça passe sans choquer, à partir du moment où on se retrouve sur la 5ème case à l'arrivée. J'ai juste marqué la descente en ré mineur car ça aurait sonné bizarre à 50 % 😄

    • @princedeced
      @princedeced 2 года назад

      @@StephLeGratteux Oui, Randy Rhoads
      improvise des passages avec du coup des dissonances; c'est parfait de le réécrire pour le rendre jouable :)

    • @StephLeGratteux
      @StephLeGratteux  2 года назад +1

      @@princedeced Un peu comme avec la 1ère note du 3ème temps de la mesure 29. Ce Si à la place du Si bémol qui est en dehors de la gamme (et d'ailleurs sur la quasi totalité des covers, les guitaristes jouent un Si bémol qui sonne "mieux")

    holly cow! I have just noticed that he starts with "down picking" and then "up" 03:22 on the slow motion section! my instinct was exactly them same but my tutor said I should quit immediately and start with picking up and then down... need to show this to m...fu..ker.

    • @StephLeGratteux
      @StephLeGratteux  4 месяца назад +1

      You can start the way he said too, it doable too, but for me it much more easier the way I do it. But if there was an arpeggio with a group of 4 notes like that cool part on Ride The Lightning solo (which is a bit off topic here), I would start by an up picking.
