Thank you, Ceri. I never thought about doing this on my book pages. It’s a great idea to mass make a stack of them. I like the idea of pulling them out as I have the time. I can’t always spend an hour or two in my craft room and these are quick and easy. You’ve inspired me!
I appreciate your statement- aim for excellence, not perfection. I decided not to major in art in college because I didn’t think I was a good enough artist. I didn’t understand then the difference between art and design and 40 years post graduation 20 of which I’ve spent in graphic design and layout, I wish I’d majored in art afterall ( did anthropology instead!), but I always find inspiration in your videos and freedom to be creative despite not being able to draw well. This stamped images on book pages is LOVELY and I’m going to try it. I’m really good at coloring in the lines.
Tip for removing sticker backing (because, Ceri, you are not alone in the struggle): place a piece of clear, low adhesion tape or washi tape on the front of the sticker and pull away from the sticker backing. This usually dies the trick for me.
I really like and appreciate your channel. The artwork is interesting and in spring. I appreciate your openness and honesty and hope you continue broadcasting. Thank you for giving many hours of entertaining and inspiring entertainment.
Wow Carrie I caught your demonstration of the ink on the tissue paper I had my paper I wrote it all down I cannot wait to try it I just love watching your show everything is neat I've learned so much it's unbelievable thanks thanks😊❤
I appreciate that you keep newbies like me in mind. When the video ends I leave with the feeling, “I can do that!” Not “I wish I could do that.” You are a very effective instructor.
What a fabulous technique. Thank you Ceri. I cannot wait to start making these. The fussy cut butterfly immediately sold me . Your videos are the best!
Ceri, you make me laugh, delight and inspire me! Thank you, thank you! I've been looking for something "new" to brighten up my journaling efforts and I do believe this is it!♥😄🖌
I love love your work. You have inspired me to no end. My mind is full of ideas now. When I'm painting something I sop up the extra paint onto plain paper and save it. Now I know what to do witb them. Thanks.
Love this idea!!!! I when rummaging around found all the supplies you used. Yay!!! Go me! Tonight while watching tv I plan to make a bunch of these. Thanks for the inspiration.
I was a bit stuck and lacking inspiration...not any more!!! What a beautiful project yet "simple". I just love book pages and will definitely give this a try. Thanks for sharing 🤗🕊️
Usually, I take a very dim view of the current trend of tearing books apart to use in collage. With that said, this project is perfectly charming! The first example, with the mushrooms is particularly appealing. Some of the books on my shelves are now quaking in fear! 😉Thank you!
I know this is a year old Ceri, but I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to teach us how you do this technique. I’m not yet making junk journals, but I can see this used on cards and bookmarks as well. I’ve been trying to come up with a plan to upgrade the bookmarks I make and donate to the library, because I am hoping that they could sell them. We love our public library, and I want to support them in return for the many hours of joy that they have brought our family. This technique just might do it, if copyright isn’t an issue. Thanks again for sharing Ceri.
I love transparent watercolors and when I was younger the only kind I got were kind of flat match and I don't like him very much because it blocked out too much shit I love doing what you're doing that's what I've done my whole life well since I became an adult that's my way of watercoloring the other thing I like to do is the joints dies the other thing I like to do is the joint dies the colored pencil dies and the sticks you can paint the most beautiful flowers and things on covers for your journals you can just I mean they can be gorgeous I'm glad you're still up glad you're still up I'm glad you're still up
Thank you Ceri; just love this video and the ideas you have. One thing I’ve taken away from it is that I can try and stop the perfection and just be! You’ll know how hard that is though but I will try!! Some of the things you say make me laugh as I think “oh, I would’ve said that“ hehe 😊 Janey xx
Is that how those piles get on my desk! Always fighting with the piles of project excess….try to clean it up, but get sucked into creating something from the scraps and leftovers instead! Loved this idea, will definitely be trying it, thanks for sharing the process for us newbies!
Another fabulous video. You are such a good teacher/instructor, and your work is gorgeous! I love your attention to detail; everything is finished beautifully, even when it's not perfect (most certainly is excellent!) Nothing you do in your videos is uninteresting, and I'm always sad when your videos end. I've been binge watching, just about every day. What will I do once I've caught up?! 😮😁🤭🤗
Thank you for this video. You inspired me to use rubber stamps on papers I had previously painted with my gel plate. Then color them with markers and cut them out to use later as focal points. So glad I found your video last night. The final result is so cute!! Thanks again 🌸💕
I gave book pages a try with painting and didn't like it...but now I think I will try this with the gesso and tissue! Good idea! Painting, to me is very calming and makes for a project that is easy to tote around!
Love your pages Ceri! Just a small tip, use absorbent ground. It will mute the background and when it is dry , it creates the texture of watercolor paper . I think it is magic in my journals....
Dot from Derbyshire Ceri, I have been looking for an artist like you for years. For a long time now, I have wanted to make an art journal but not known where to start, at last I do. This morning I have watched 3 of your videos, I am so happy you have made them and I discovered them today quite by accident. I have learnt so much already, I can't thank you enough. Lots of love Dot x
Ii do like your style and your attitude about excellence as opposed to non-existent perfection. Thank you for demonstrating this beautifully simple method of stamping/coloring.
I am loving gesso. I use it on shiny cardboard - like pasta or cereal box cardboard - and it gives me a great glueable surface. I'm going to try this stamp/paint soon!
Thank you. Such an inspiring video. You make all this look so achievable! It's a great gift to give the people the ability to think, "Hey - I can do that too!"
Ceri, I do love watching your videos. Your awesome. I was just making some vintage tags the other day. I was needing more ephemera. You did it for me. Ty so much.
Thank you for sharing. I never thought of this idea or have not seen it done before. I recently got the full set of inktense pencils and I am going to try it out with them. Thank you for sharing your creative spirit with us. 😊
Hi from Victoria, Australia again Ceri. I Love this idea as i am rubbish at art but i think i can manage this technique. I watched your video of your challenge with Gayle to use 5 things for a project Your resulting artwork was wonderful. I was enthralled with the story of your journey through life. What a full and interesting life you have led!! Thank you, thank you!
Thank you! I love how you put it on a tag. Fabulous!! I love your thought process. As always, thanks for sharing 🙏💕 Also, FYI … if you get word search puzzle books… many times they have number searches throughout the puzzle books.
Loved this technique. Having literally just started attempting a journal this is a must. Loved your comment about accepting excellence from perfection. I have made cards (just for myself and friends) and have been told I see with a technical eye as everything has to be accurate or binned! So I am hoping the journalling will be more relaxing and casual in approach. Some wonderfully creative people on these newly found videos.
Linda I fully understand, it’s taken me a long time to accept things that are not perfect and I still struggle some days, but I now view the small flaws and unique touches.
Love you Ceri. Thanks for giving me inspiration for today’s time at my crafting. Will work on using some stamped images and paint. Blessings from Betty in Ohio.😉
Ceri, I found your channel today, thankfully. I needed some ideas I could use without having to spend a lot of money. Telling us it is alright if our work is not perfect is a great reminder for me. I tend to get too disappointed if I make a mistake. Thank you for sharing your craft with us.

Beautiful Ceri!! I especially like you can gesso a bunch of pages, stamp them paint great Make A-heads!! Bless you! I think it's so fun to see how each Artist does each craft.
