You are so right about being instinctive with your “work.” I had a 40+ year career in commercial art/printing. Everything I did had to have customer or management approval. After I retired I had to learn to let go for myself. Don’t work, play! You & Gayle are my mentors. Thank you.
Hello Ceri, from Pensacola, Florida. I truly understand your feelings about hot, humid weather. It's so humid here that my glasses fog up when I walk outside, and I can't find a glue stick that actually sticks after a few days 😂. But I love it here and being close to the ocean, and I'm so glad to have found you and your channel 😊.
Another relaxing and interesting tutorial. I love to listen to your pearls of wisdom delivered so kindly. Thanks again for risking your creativity. You are doing great by me.
I love the owl one too. I’m a night owl 🦉 and have an owl collection. I see an owl journal in my future. You are a genius at choosing and placing bits and pieces to make journal cards. I learn a lot from you. Thank you very much.
I just ran across this video and spent my time watching it. I agree with you on a lot of that it's your craft and we shouldn't have to worry about if everybody else likes ever work. So I subscribed and can't wait to see new video
Oh these are beautiful, I've been struggling to get back into crafting, I suffer from mental health problems, so thats why i started crafting. but listening to you I'm inspired. I worried I was doing it wrong, or something, I'd forgot where to place things, but you saying it's my art, as long as you like it it's great. Thankyou forget for letting me see the trees from the wood. All I've been doing is printing and fussy cutting, I even stopped watching any crafting. Then I saw your surprise video about your trip to Alaska, so one thing lead to another and I'm binge watching you again. So thankyou again, have a fantastic time on your cruise ❤
So true! I love to see other’s peoples journals because I love different styles! I too have been unapologetic now when people criticize something I’ve done. My Art helps me get through hard days. Thanks for sharing your passion!!
Really love watching your videos, you really do encourage everyone to 'have a go'. You're very talented & you explain your ideas etc so well. Thank you so much for sharing. xx
What a fun video! Loved how they turned out & that I got to watch the whole process. I would have cut them first, then applied the decoration, so getting a different perspective here (it's all good!). I always love how vulnerable & sweet you are in your commentary. Wish I lived closer to you. You're so talented.
Greetings from Tennessee where it is so humid in june thru august, i can not breathe when outdoors. I truly am an outdoors kinda gal and always love hanging clothing on the line as well. I get a kick out if watching you perform your crafting skills. You are one of a kind, a great personality and talented. Thank you Mr. Ceri
I like your art very much😊 If I ever posted my own I would be crying all the time because of the comments! What a big difference the stitching and edging made, WOW! I enjoyed hearing the birds🙂 Thanks for sharing what you make AND the process.
Love squirrels in the studio. Thank you for expressing how you convince yourself to start crafting. It was exactly what I feel when I want to do some crafting but afraid I'll make a mistake. But the only mistake is not believing in myself. Big hug always. Thank you for putting yourself out there. It very brave.
Hi Ceri, I’ve been watching your videos for a couple weeks now and I’ve learned a lot, I’ve been inspired, and I find your voice very soothing. So, thank you!
Ceri: “squirrels in the studio,”- love that saying. I will use that when needed. The ATC’s were creatively put together. Loved them all. Carol from California
Your voice is very soothing and I love the way you speak and explain yourself what you're doing and in this video you are giving me a lot of wonderful ideas I thank you for sharing with us 😊❤
I only found your channel a few months ago, but you have become my new favorite. I have shared your channel on one of my social media accounts today, because I realized more people needed to watch you turn what looks like scraps of paper into works of art.
Hello Ceri, greetings from the hottest city in the United States. (Days that reach 46 Celsius/115 Fahrenheit are not unusual!) Ugh! Thank you for the encouraging words, you always seem to say them right at the time I most need to hear them. 😽🥰
I enjoyed this very much! The little cards are so charming and fun! I loved your chat about creating and doing what pleases you without worrying it might be wrong. Such good advice. Thank you!
Catching up, Ceri. These cards are lovely. I used Beacon's Foam & Posterboard which is very much like Fabra-Tac, on some old moving tickets. (2004) The thermal paper turned black anywhere the glue was on the back. 🤪 You always impart such wisdom from your experience and I appreciate and LEARN from it every video. Many Thanks.
I want to thank you so much for your words today, they set off a light bulb moment and it’s been over 2 years! I have a RUclips channel but 2 years ago I had convinced myself that my art wasn’t good enough and I needed to improve before I could continue showing others! Today, you said I only need to please myself, it’s like I suddenly got permission to be myself and stop trying to please everyone else! So a big thank you from the bottom of my heart 🙏😀 love the ATC’s btw xxx💕
i found that after a few years double-sided tape goes brown and brittle and stains the paper to which it has been stuck! Love your work! I just found your pages this year [ 2004] and am presently working through your collection!.
Double sided tape can also discolor the things you attach it to. I've had the adhesive seep through some papers. Best to test whatever adhesive you use. I realize it's hard to test things for the number of years it may take for them to break down or harm the paper.
Was using some double sided adhesive. Loved it, bought PKG of 8 . Shortly after I pulled out a card to send. The tape had seeped thru base and portions of ephemera was loosened. Heart breaking. As of now I'm back to double sided adhesive tape. TFS. 😊 ❤
I think I could watch you do this kind of thing all day. I always learn something from watching you. TFS Hope you're having an awesome time at your retreat. 😁
Hello. I have never made any of these, or a journal or anything lol. Im following you as a student 👍😁 I have zero money to buy any of the stamps or the extra bits and bobs. In fact, im not sure how the groceries are even happening in next few weeks. Your videos are extremely comforting. What are atc artist trading cards? I will begin making videos. I hope. But id love to know what is a absolute most important basic beginning elements you feel are a must to start designing a journal that may be sellable. Thank you greatly. A new fan and follower from southern NJ 👍😁
An artist trading card is a piece of card which is 2.5" x 3.5" in diameter and is a mini piece of art in any form, signed and dated upon the back with a title if it has one, made to be swapped not sold. As for the basic supplies, a lot of that depends on what you choose to be doing. Scissors, glue, clean surface are possibly the absolute basics but don't be seduced into buying every gadget as many household items can be adapted to do the required job.nKnowledge is free so watch as many other artists on RUclips as you can find to help you deduce exactly what you want to make and the equipment they use.
Enjoyed watching these little cards come together. I treated myself to that TH stamp set last spring. Must say it was worth every penny! I have stamped it in several different colors and use the pieces on ephemera often. Enjoy your retreat!
Looks amazing! You need acid-free dabble tape or glue for photos (I was working in a framing shop, and we use the acid-free tape on photos and even certificates). Hope you will enjoy the retreat!
I love watching you. Question: when you buy something from like from T. Fox Etsy Shop and you down load it do you put it on a jump drive or straight to your computer? Second Question: When you print them do you print them on regular or heavier paper? Please help me, I really enjoy and love your channel and I love watching you. You are so talented. Thank you for sharing your art.
I usually save digitalis to an external drive, I do print on a presentation paper that’s a little heavier than copier paper and a bit whiter in colour.
I live out in the mountains of Colorado and there are not a lot of people around I watch you while I craft. Thanks for being my craft buddy.
You are so welcome

These are wonderful!!!!! However I like to do 3s anytime I can...not 4s.......
3 is my normal but sometimes I break the habit.
Love these, but what goes on the backs.
I would normally back journal cards with plain papers that could be written on.
How do you get past the notion that you shouldn't cover something up? I have a lot of trouble with layering because I never want to cover anything up.
Catherine I have to admit it’s hard but I just go with my instincts.
❤
Thank you Lucy
Love these ATC's, especially the ones with the photos and the owl. Would you like to swap?😊
One day maybe by I’m enjoying these at present
