They got SO many things right with this piece! Standouts for me are the crystal, the faceted applied indices, clean bezel insert and knurling, and of course the movement functionality.
I’ve been following this watch for a few weeks now. Been waiting for one of my RUclipsrs to make a video. I’m so glad you got it to review Joe! Thank you. Always time to be kind 🙏
Just LUCKED out. Got the V3 Zelos with this movement….blue meteorite w the blue ceramic bezel. $629 TT & L. I would love to own the Jack Mason. Fine vid! Thanks
after giving up my quest for a Rolex GMT because of ridiculous pricing (have a Sub and Daytona) started looking around for alternatives. The JM stood out and gave it a try. This is a very nice watch w/the proper GMT movement (if that matters to you). It ticks all the boxes. What is not talked about enough is the bracelet. This is very comfortable and is as wearable as my Rolex bracelets. I got 10% off and to me this represented good value. I wear this often and enjoy it very much. The Tudor, Mido,Longines & Bldr were nice as well, however the JM was the best of the lot for me. Just seemed to represent a much better value.
my first true gmt is the zelos mako 9075. im used to the nh34, and i freaked out that the hour hand was jumping around. lol thanks for the vid and this watch looks nice too.
I’ve never understood why everyone says you HAVE to hack the movement and move all the hands when using a caller gmt while traveling. Why not just move the gmt hand to the current local time and keep the main hour hand at your home time? That makes much more sense to me
@@zdog1566 really? I mean that might be true but if you’re having difficulty reading 24 hr time you have more serious problems to worry about than whether or not your movement is a travelers or callers gmt
This looks like an awesome watch for sure . I just recently ordered the new Seiko SSK003 GMT watch from my local jeweler. So I’m good on a GMT for now but I will say this is an amazing watch 👍🏻💯
Very nice watch. The luminous bezel is a great addition. 👍👍👍 The price is good. However, true GMT vs Office GMT is simply two different ways to do the same job. If you travel with either they'll do the job!
Beautiful watch and excellent specs. Impressive movement. Love that it's hand assembled in in USA 🇺🇸. Good value for this offering. I really like it. You honestly get everything in this watch that luxury brands offer less the additional prestige and brand history, however is this worth the extra thousands of dollars? Depends on each person, but for me this is an outstanding choice. Well done brother and thank you for yet another great review.
Great size and a good looking watch my friend! I like the chocolate coloured variant as it’s slightly more original looking but overall, it’s a great watch!
There are a few traveler gmts available for under 1k. Check out the certina ds and the mido ocean star. That being said, they’re 43mm and imo too big for a comfortable travel watch
True, but Seiko allows you to set the GMT hand and lock it in. Then you can simply adjust the hour and minute hand. Turn the wheel the other way and you can adjust the date. I received my stratotimer last week and unfortunately the lume is horrible. I don't even see the numbers clearly as you showed in the video with the lume. Also, the buckle stick out and feels flimsy as hell.
Great question. Prototypes are usually done “cheaper” to give the owner a product that will give them a good idea of what their getting. Sometimes it’s simply experimental and the feedback would be to add lume more to match the dial for instance.
Lovely watch but a tough sell at $1k. I think I’ll hang on and wait for the Steeldive gmt offerings with the NH34 movement. Great review by the way, really enjoyed it. Plus I can’t see the tangible benefit to a traveller gmt compared to a caller gmt.
Big difference between the NH34 and 9075. Fundamentally different. Lowbeat vs. Highbeat and traveler vs. office GMT. Totally apples and oranges. Office GMT have to stop the movement and reset the watch when stepping off a plane in a new timezone.
I wanted to like the Miyota 9075 as I thought will be easier to set. But the date setting is a lot more difficult to set than a caller GMT. That said, value for money, nothing beats a Seiko SSK GMT. Bought mine new at $284.
Always want to set the hands to 6:00. This ensure you don’t engage the date wheel. If you to change the date while the date wheel is engaged, you could damage the function. Once you set the hands to 6, click the crown out to the first position and adjust.
The opening is a bit overstating the exclusivity of traveler’s GMTs. The Seiko Presage Sharp Edge GMT is also a traveler’s GMT and only costs 1,000-1,400 depending on color, and the Longines Zulu time is about double that. Both great watches and arguably both have better movements than the Miyota… Just my two cents. Nice watch though.
Appreciate the feedback. I overlooked the watches you mentioned. With that being said, I may have indeed, overstated the exclusivity of a travelers GMT a bit. Thanks for point that out.
Bidirectional bezel is a death sentence for people who actually use their "dive" watches as a redundant back-up to a dive computer. Yes, the tool watch is the biggest segment today but I'm a 40 year long diver and a unidirectional bezel is must.
This is a GMT first and can be used for diving but definitely not in your case. I agree, I wouldn’t “professionally “ dive with any bi-directional regardless of their depth rating. I have a Tudor BB GMT which I’d use going across time zones and swimming. Putting on a wet suit, I’d switch to a Seiko PADI for instance with a unidirectional. I think if you’re going to “knock” a watch, at least keep it relevant to what the watch was intended for. Otherwise your argument can said for any bi-directional bezel GMTs on the market and it’s not a fair criticism IMHO. Either way, I appreciate you watching and sharing your .02. Have a great new year!
I'm late to view this Video, but as Usual I'm seeing and hearing people speak on Subjects as If they Know Everything there is about it. For one, Seiko does Have a True/Travelers GMT Movement called the 6R64 28.800 bph, going back to At least 2018. I know this because I own 3 versions of them. 1. the First, LandMaster GMT Titanium Bullhead 200m $1800. 2. The Seiko Presage 39mm Titanium Ocean Traveler $1500 and 3. The Presage Sharp Edge GMT around $1300. All with the Same Movement. So.... Nothing New Here. I will Admit, the Citizen 9075 Movement is Thinner and makes for a Thinner watch, and Cheaper, but they are Late to the Party.
It’s apparent you didn’t watch the video. I shared that Bulova and Citizen have the movement and that Boldr is using as well. No idea who Lip is not ever heard of them.

Yes sir! Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks for your review and highlighting the beauty Strat-o-timer! It's an honor to be here ⭐
My pleasure. Thanks for lending it in to the channel.
Please please restock the Americana - I have just found this brand and I must have this!!! USA and beautiful, can’t go wrong!
I’ve been following this watch for a few weeks now. Been waiting for one of my RUclipsrs to make a video. I’m so glad you got it to review Joe! Thank you. Always time to be kind 🙏
Really appreciate that bud. I’m grateful that I had the opportunity to review this piece.

Thanks for watching.
It arrived sporting a slick glidelock clasp. Excellent!
Great piece that I think is going to be very successful for them. This makes me very interested in what Jack Mason has coming down the pike!
Yes sir. Thanks for watching bud.

Harder to read 24 hr time
exactly, That's what pilots do.

Couldn’t agree more. Luxuries are simply nice stuff we don’t need but are willing to pay a premium for.

I hope the restock the red white and blue model!

Thanks for watching my friend. Agreed on all accounts.

This is a very nice piece well thought out & the price seems about spot on its a lot of watch for the money.
Agreed mate.
The real question is: would Magnum P. I. have worn it? And what Rick, T. C. and Higgins would have thought?
True, but Seiko allows you to set the GMT hand and lock it in. Then you can simply adjust the hour and minute hand. Turn the wheel the other way and you can adjust the date. I received my stratotimer last week and unfortunately the lume is horrible. I don't even see the numbers clearly as you showed in the video with the lume. Great review. But why would the bezel lume be less bright in the production models vs the prototype?
Great question. Prototypes are usually done “cheaper” to give the owner a product that will give them a good idea of what their getting. Sometimes it’s simply experimental and the feedback would be to add lume more to match the dial for instance.

Take a look a the Traska Venturer GMT, same movement, twice the value
Big difference between the NH34 and 9075. Fundamentally different. Lowbeat vs. Highbeat and traveler vs. office GMT. Totally apples and oranges. Office GMT have to stop the movement and reset the watch when stepping off a plane in a new timezone.
Seiko have a Presage True GMT a couple hundreds dollar above this one. I’m surprised it didn’t get much attention. Mido as well.
Apparently I missed a few. My apologies. Definitely my mistake. Thank you for clarifying.
I love everything except the lack of crown guard
Great review. Thanks. BTW: Therre is no "p" sound in "sapphire." The first "p" is silent.
Thanks! Btw: “There” only has 1 “r” not 2.
Can you explain how the GMT dial works compared to the hour hand
A Swiss true GMT in that price range has been available for about 2 years now. Mido Ocean Star GMT.
Like the ability to change hour easily and quickly.
Thanks for stopping by bud. It definitely is convenient for daylight savings or that frequent traveler.
I wanted to like the Miyota 9075 as I thought will be easier to set. But the date setting is a lot more difficult to set than a caller GMT. That said, value for money, nothing beats a Seiko SSK GMT. Bought mine new at $284.
Looks really nice. Thanks Joe.
Really is. Thanks Bob.
Definitely a more than decent effort at a luxury complication.
This is a phenomenal review!
This is really badass! Thanks Joe.
Thanks for watching bud!
what is the optimal way to adjust the date?
Always want to set the hands to 6:00. This ensure you don’t engage the date wheel. If you to change the date while the date wheel is engaged, you could damage the function. Once you set the hands to 6, click the crown out to the first position and adjust.

What about the gavox longitude

I am getting the Vaer G5 GMT with the same movement and $200 cheaper.
I love this watch, so tempted. The Americana theme is very cool, although the counter balance looks most like a French flag!
One or two more hits from them and they'll be the team to beat
Yeah… they’re definitely on my radar now for sure.
👍

The 9075 is NOT excusive to Jack Mason!
...Bulova and Lip already use it in their GMTs
...Lip was in fact the first to use it!
It’s apparent you didn’t watch the video. I shared that Bulova and Citizen have the movement and that Boldr is using as well. No idea who Lip is not ever heard of them.
..... or a Longines spirit diver gmt (true gmt).
Jack mason is a ripp off. $999 My lord.
