Great instructional video 👍 You remind me of my cousins Dad (Uncle) in Jersey. Would come up from NC every summer and stay for 2 or 3 weeks. Great times 👏🏻🇺🇸
Thanks for posting this very informative and helpful video. I was quoted $1,917 for upper / lower ball joint replacement. $120 and this video later my 99 Expedition runs like new again! Have a blessed day my friend.
Hey isn't your dust sheild supposed to face forward? I don't think it's supposed to be faced upwards. My 97 and 98 are both towards the front of the front of the knuckle
@@Jvcomet they told me to buy moog. I never replaced the lower control arm and they are expensive. The upper arm and both ball joints are not that bad. Not sure if i should replace the lower control arm. it is probably original.
If your just replacing the upper control arm. By itself. Do you have to take off the tie rod ? I said screw it got new arms that have ball joints pressed in already. Gonna tackle that this weekend on a 99f150 xlt 2wd
@@Jvcomet quick question. Since I’m literally just doing a upper arm replacement. Literally not doing anything else. Factory tire size. Should I be rushing to a alignment shop. Even with my ball joint going bad there isn’t any signs of issues on tire tread yet.

Thank you very much for showing this. Do you torque these bolts? My problem is always chasing down the correct wrenches and tools.
Don’t know the torque specs off hand but tight!..
Thanks for watching
6:31 Make yourself laugh there? 😂
We see some funny stuff sometimes 😀
Why didn't you just replace the lower control arm as well?
Didn’t need the arm. Just the ball joint.
Did you have to use a spring deppressor? And should I use oem or the ones that come with a grease ditting?
If you can get them with grease fittings they’ll last longer. 👍

Not sure have no way of checking them till it comes in for a service and I’ll check. Thanks 👍
I replaced mine in 2016 and the shop is trying to say my alignment wont hold because my arms are worn out they are not that old I don't get it.
The bushings in the arms. ?
@Jvcomet they said ball joints are loose, and that cheap parts won't last long. I installed generic control arm and lower ball joints.
Yea friggin parts these days suck. The original Ford parts are astronomical in price. 😫

@@chriss4365 if it’s not bad. Leave it but if it needs replacement soon do it it all at one time. Cheaper in the long run

Nope just change the upper arm leave all the other stuff in place 👍👍

@@CMDRTeklow82 if you put it all back in the same place as original you should be fine.
