I can prove this movie is actually not bad. I was 11 in 2002. This was the first Halloween movie I had seen in its entirety. I was familiar with the series and Myers, but had never watched any of the others in full. I was glued to me seat and thought it was great and scary, and loved the concept, because Internet was new and exciting then, so it really blew my mind seeing a Web show like that too. You all need to get over yourself and understand that it was 2002. They had to keep up with trends. This was a perfect resurrection of Michael Myers for the 21st century generation of teens.
If you want to watch a copy of the original movie over and over, then just go watch it. Stop whining. If this was the ONLY entry into the series, you would have thought it was amazing. Stop trying to compare everything to the original. "Wahh, it wasn't the same story for the 8th time". 🙄

Other way around. Not only did Halloween: Resurrection got better reviews, than Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, it also made nearly 3 times more money in the box office. Michael finally looked like Michael and there was no extra motives around the movie. One doctor (an actual cult) trying to control him like in H6, the fact that he will never rest in peace until every person in his family is gone, just makes no sense. Halloween II (1981) should have never come up with the sibling storyline, which added this motive. He just used to The Shape in the original. While Michael and Laurie are still siblings, the movie showcases that a lot better in Halloween: Resurrection. To each their own.
