Everyone says that the Pixel 8 has better software support, the problem lies in its chipset compared to the s233, How will that Tensor perform after 5 years of use, as it is still barely average in the middle segment?? With s23, I believe that sd gen 2 will still be competitive in 5 years against phones in the middle class.. And as for the premium look and feel in the hand as well as the build quality, Samsung is ahead of the Pixel in every way. Personally, here in Serbia, the prices of these two devices are relatively close, so I believe that s23 is better in terms of investment-gain. I use s23 from March, and is awsome. Cameras is way better from last updates, battery can hold 2 days of usage, if you can use it wihout playng any games. But when i travel and use phone a lot, it ends day for about 30%. Monthly security patch updates, quarterly pixel drop updates and first to update to latest version of android guarantees I'm always running the latest and most secure version of Android. And I've made more use of small pixel exclusives like call screening, hold for me and a few others than I ever thought I would. Pixels have almost spoiled me as when I don't have them on other phones, I sense the difference almost immediately.. Still, both great though. Good luck!

After S20FE i wanted to try something smaller and went for Pixel 8. What a disappointing phone that is. It is a midranger with good camera. Way overpriced for what it offers. Returned it and went back to Samsung...
I prefer 'stock android' for its cleaner look and uncluttered nature. So for this reason, I'd pick the Google - regardless of whether the Samsung may be a better all rounder. I'm not a gamer, so having a phone that's good for gaming isn't important; but having a phone which takes really good photos is very important to me. So it's the Pixel for me, all day long. I have to admit to being something of a 'Pixel fanboy'.
I've been an Apple user since June 2021 with an iPhone 12 (before of that I had an Oneplus Nord) Now I am a back to Android with a Pixel 8 for 2 weeks now. This phone is great for my usage. Bright for outdoor, fast to switch between apps, beautiful camera for everyday shots (I have a Sony camera for more HQ pictures) and great battery life for its form factor. 5h hours of screen time per day, and it usually need to charge at 6pm or 8pm (with the iphone I needed to charge it 2-3 times per day). I went with the Pixel to go pure android and it's so smooth to have only the Google apps and not the Samsung ones (or Xiaomi ones). I only play Clash Royale once per day so I don't use this phone regularly for gaming, so the G3 CPU is doing great to me. Drawbacks: - videos, bot good as iPhone ones but I have the Sony camera for that - emojis, Apple emojis are like the universal ones - Instagram is more buggy that iPhone's one - Gallery app, I recently watched some pics about Samsung ones and that's a thing I would like to Install on my Pixel (I am so glad of APKs...)
Looks like you are just reading the product specifications. When you place the phones side by side comparing the displays, you don't point out which is pixel, which is samsung.

@SandyJuicyCheeks Went with the galaxy. Old and proven. Maybe it will be a pixel next time. New EU law states that all phones skall have changeable battery by 2027 latest. Thata when I aim to buy a new one. Hopefully Google has fixed the overhearing problem by then.
@@qp9vp for photos, i used mkb's blind camera test and apparently ur right, samsung did "win" for me, they do great shots, however pixel 8 was 2nd place with 1 point difference & then pixel 7 as 3rd - so idk could be a flaw since when u compare both its actually hard to see which one looks better side by side. for batteries dont get your hopes too high, "changeable" in terms of the user given the tools to replace it. and they already have that option on the newest model. so u dont need special equipment to open it & replace it, all parts are available to buy, still annoying to remove the back glas but it will prob the same in the next few years - maybe it bit easier but prob not.

I have a feeling the p8 is not going to last for the duration of 7 years ,which is how long google says it will push updates to the P8. That, coupled with the shit modem and chipset, the spotty performance per update, the really crappy customer srvice, and the horrible thermal management, I'd say go for the s23
Um. Please don't buy into the hype. Sure pixel gets 7 years of updates. But, from my 4 months of using it, they still haven't fixed half the bugs the device shipped with. On top of that, there's newer more annoying bugs now...
Would have been nice if the S23 was just a little thicker and used a 4100mah battery. The Xiaomi and Chinese phones use Li-po batter which charges quicker and ages quicker. S23 has the Lithium ion battery instead
I don't need either. The Oppo Reno 10 Pro plus that I have, with its 120X zoom capabilities, with nearly optional zoom from ultra wide angle to 10X zoom in between, is better than these two.
Made not a single mention about video shooting in a review comparison... what the hell.. well I guess I will look elsewhere, but this is just poor quality content, can tell you just rushed a generic script.
I think you are wrong 😅 s23 is better.. And I'm saying that as a Pixel 8 owner.. The bottom line is the snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is better and powerful than tensor.. You're talking about stupid things like cameras but the most important hardware component in a device is it's chipset
no way you're serious with "stupid things like cameras". it's basically the only reason to buy a high-end phone. and the cpu is only needed to process hq photos and videos. other than that, go with any $400 phone and it will suit your needs perfectly fine
You can easily add a different launcher to pixel = no search bar, but you can never get rid of the 20 useless bloatware Samsung apps, which sometimes create problems with Google apps that everybody uses. The Samsung has better hardware, but I wouldn't say it has more freedom.

To AI i agree. imo both things have their pros & cons - i expect the new SD gen 3 wont have "much" AI, its very basic too, as seen that some chinese devices have the new chip but still missing the promised / shown main AI features, maybe in 3-4 years it will be insane.
@@Vss077 FWIW _ looks like Google is launching a Secure Folder and improving Multi-Window in upcoming Android 14 updates (9to5 google) . The SD gen 2 already has fantastic AI benchmarks for on device stuff - especially with LLMs - just not being implemented well yet. Hopefully Samsung and Apple will join the race in 2024 making it better for all.
Had the pixel 8, sold it and that was the hardest time I had selling a phone even throwing a pair of brand new buds pro for free. No one wants these phones. Hated it, nothing like a samsung on Android platform.
no one wants it since its too expensive rn & prob everyone already has a early 2023 flagship or waiting for early 2024 flagships. Also a pixel 8 non pro is hard to sell since it offers barely any new gamechanging features compared to the 7 or other phones - if u have a pro it the chance to sell it is pretty high if u go down 100$ (not to mention their walmarts black friday deals on the pixel were rly good iirc)
pixel is more niche compared to samsung. quite sad when you think about it, but they just started too late with making top tier phones.
I got the pixel 8 pro for myself this Christmas because of the camera. I used to have OnePlus 9pro, but since it got smashed i had to get a cheap phone in the meantime.
God damn the stock android is so annoying to use.
So many "basic" features that oneplus have pixel doesnt, lock screen tilt lock.
So many features i miss.
Gonna return it and wait for s24 and oneplus 12 and see what they bring
Friend of mine - IT guy who changing phones every year or sooner, says just the opposite.
He loved pure Android but switched to S23 because of "feel" in his hand.
Pixel is my personal, S23 is my work. You really can not go wrong with any of these. Both a great choice!!
If you had to combine your personnal and job phone in only one
Which one ? 🤓
Thanks
@@mr.send_it Damn... Great question! It'd be a tough call & they're small but relevant differences, but I'd go with the Pixel. Good luck!
@@deeo1973damn all those little functions you mentioned only exist in the US
I feel like the pixel processor will be absolute garbage by the time software support ends, my previous pixels have failed or fallen apart well before support ended
you forgot the video comparison dude.
I went from s23 ultra to pixel 8 pro and its fot a reason. Idk why Samsung has so much bloatware. My s23 ultras cameras also looked bad in night shots
I was at the phone store today, amd was surprised to find the pixel 8 for $400, and the s23 for $800
I'm enjoying my Samsung Galaxy S23+.
After S20FE i wanted to try something smaller and went for Pixel 8. What a disappointing phone that is. It is a midranger with good camera. Way overpriced for what it offers. Returned it and went back to Samsung...
What`s the matter with pixel?
I prefer 'stock android' for its cleaner look and uncluttered nature. So for this reason, I'd pick the Google - regardless of whether the Samsung may be a better all rounder.
I'm not a gamer, so having a phone that's good for gaming isn't important; but having a phone which takes really good photos is very important to me.
So it's the Pixel for me, all day long. I have to admit to being something of a 'Pixel fanboy'.
I got the S23 and 8 Pro. Both awesome and have slightly different use cases. Overall, though, I prefer the 8 Pro. It's pure class.
Pls can someone tell me the difference between the demo phone s23+ and the original one's.
I've been an Apple user since June 2021 with an iPhone 12 (before of that I had an Oneplus Nord)
Now I am a back to Android with a Pixel 8 for 2 weeks now.
Drawbacks:
- videos, bot good as iPhone ones but I have the Sony camera for that
- emojis, Apple emojis are like the universal ones
- Instagram is more buggy that iPhone's one
- Gallery app, I recently watched some pics about Samsung ones and that's a thing I would like to Install on my Pixel (I am so glad of APKs...)
do you like your pixel 8 i am thinking of switching from the iphone to the pixel i was always a samsung user before i switched to iphone
@@Janalynn31 yes it's great
Looks like you are just reading the product specifications. When you place the phones side by side comparing the displays, you don't point out which is pixel, which is samsung.
I don't get how anyone can think that the pixel is better looking.. colour, design.. no, samsung is better looking. However, I still haven't decided which one I'm getting.
Just picked up the pixel and it's a great phone man
@SandyJuicyCheeks Went with the galaxy.
Don't you - like most of us, put a black plastic cover on it for protection which makes it feel like and look like a generic phone? LOL
To me Pixel 8 is the best looking phone in the world
Currently I'm choosing between these two and after full research Pixel is my winner because the camera capabilities ;) The only thing I'm a little bit afraid is a battery compared to S23 but we'll see next week.
What's in the next week!?
@@mohammednisark4956 It's not bad. I use it quite intensively and I need to charge it every day or even less. Almost each day I use it to listen or watch YT podcasts, mainly without headphones + social media/net but it makes it. If you use your phone less intensively i think it could last 2 days.
And yes, generally I'm very happy that I picked it up ;)
I wonder why google phones are not popular here in philippines
Pixel 8 babe
Me too
Tbh, stock Android is overrated according to me. Plus I love the design of s23, it's just beautiful.
During b-roll, put which phone is which, can’t really tell when looking at the front
superb review, pixel's CPU unfortunate is a mess I mean midrange ;), it can change wallpaper for something like 3-5 sec
I have a feeling the p8 is not going to last for the duration of 7 years ,which is how long google says it will push updates to the P8. That, coupled with the shit modem and chipset, the spotty performance per update, the really crappy customer srvice, and the horrible thermal management, I'd say go for the s23
What about the speakers? I hear the Samsungs is a lot louder and clearer than the Pixels?
I have s23 plus, would love to trade it with Pixel but no official dealer in my country.
I prefer Samsung
Fantastic breakdown! Thank you so much!
S23 all the way, better selfie, better battery, processor, modem, telephoto lens, and the most important thing, zero overheating.
GREAT REVIEW BRO!!!! Pixel 8 for me. I ordered mine yesterday.
How do you like it?
How's it going bro?
Nice pictures from Helsinki 🇫🇮
Um. Please don't buy into the hype. Sure pixel gets 7 years of updates. But, from my 4 months of using it, they still haven't fixed half the bugs the device shipped with. On top of that, there's newer more annoying bugs now...
Pixel without a doubt cuz I can install grapheneOS on it.
Sammy easy ......battery is better ,processor, build ,
Would have been nice if the S23 was just a little thicker and used a 4100mah battery.
The Xiaomi and Chinese phones use Li-po batter which charges quicker and ages quicker. S23 has the Lithium ion battery instead
I'd much rather have a battery age slower than simply charge faster. Especially with it glued behind glass.
great review, underrated channel
I prefer Samsung for reliability
S23 is much better; buy it and try it out.
Pixel will probably be available for significantly less than the S23. Once it happens, it's the way to go.
Team Pixel!! 😊
Pixel
Stock android is boring... Used stock android for 4 years... Feels like stock android don't have soul
Samsung or pixel?
iPhone
OneUI is good but I still like Pixel ❤❤❤
I don't need either. The Oppo Reno 10 Pro plus that I have, with its 120X zoom capabilities, with nearly optional zoom from ultra wide angle to 10X zoom in between, is better than these two.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
bro why are you here 😂😂 this was is in between samsung and pixel 😅
Made not a single mention about video shooting in a review comparison... what the hell.. well I guess I will look elsewhere, but this is just poor quality content, can tell you just rushed a generic script.
Cry some more 😂😢
I think you are wrong 😅 s23 is better..
Pixel: obtrusive search bar google makes you keep on homescreen
Galaxy: do what you want
Galaxy wins. All that matters to me is freedom
You can easily add a different launcher to pixel = no search bar, but you can never get rid of the 20 useless bloatware Samsung apps, which sometimes create problems with Google apps that everybody uses.
The Samsung has better hardware, but I wouldn't say it has more freedom.
@@xenod1066 Do you hear yourself? You're acknowledging that Google forces you to tie up 4 slots, an entire row, on your home screen with some Google bullshit "launcher" and calling that equally free to Samsung which doesn't have that requirement? Case in point, with Samsung every single slot and row is 100% free for you to do as you please, but this is not the case for Google.
True you can't uninstall some Samsung apps, which isn't ideal; however, Samsung doesn't force them in your face the way Google does. Mine are buried in a folder in the apps page--I literally have not even seen them FOR YEARS so I can't say it has an impact, being just being a nuisance in principle.
So, do you want a full row of forced propaganda on your home screen or a home screen that is 100% your choice. Guaranteed Korean-American freedom wins in my book!
@@dyeace lol. You can get rid of the search bar. You can't get rid of the apps. Sticking the icon in a folder doesn't get rid of the app, it still takes up storage space, and still tries to become default. And since nobody prefers them, why have them at all, let alone make them impossible to remove? Shouldn't that be up to us, whether it's Google or Samsung, or whatever?
I like Samsung phones, I'm just not convinced that they give you more choice or freedom than pixel.
Both could stand to improve. I don't see why anything other than system files should be impossible to remove.
@@xenod1066 1. You can't remove search bar on pixel. 2. What's this about other apps trying to be default? Must be another pixel fail. On Samsung you choose your defaults and it sticks for life. Haven't adjusted default apps in years, and they're all custom. 3. Storage isn't an issue. I have 512 always (Samsung's minimum since it's always free upgrade from 256). And I never use more than 50gb. TBH I wish my phone had less storage in the age of cloud. Just paying for shit I don't need. That said, if you really care about storage 🤡 I doubt Samsung apps take up much space. Couldn't tell you what the Samsung apps are or what they do. Unlike Google, Samsung doesn't shove its shit down my throat. Rip your home screen
@@xenod1066 just double checked lol. Google confirms the search bar can't be removed. As discussed earlier best you can do is replace it with another bullshit. Your home screen can never be 100% yours. Cope game is strong with you for suggesting it can be removed
I sense a little Roy Kent in your voice
The s23 for me
Colour's are sucked in pixel
S23 any day
I absolutely hate the new Pixel 8. Bulky, heavy, too large bump, software issues, signal issues. I was google nexus and pixel customer. I will most likely never purchase Google phone again. Its absolute rubbish.
Pixel 🎉
