I admit I didn't finish the video, as I am an Android vet upgrading from a previous Pixel. I'm glad you mentioned the animation-speed settings. Originally, IIRC, I think I rather stumbled upon this option, and I have no idea how at this point. Regardless, it really does make a difference imo, among others.
As a new 8 pro user - thank you! Another thing that i stumbled in while doing all this is you can set the active area for gesture detection. I bought a case for the phone, and it's quite bulky over the edges of the screen, so after several hours it's becoming actually painful to try the go back gesture, at your finger always catches on the case. But in the system - navigation method - gestures cog you can actually use the sliders to make the active area for the gestures a bit wider
Went from the s20fe to the Pixel 8 pro recently. Its fantastic, dont get me wrong, just feel like somethings are missing in the OS. Like for example, in the S20FE I could select different apps at a time in the app drawer to either uninstall them or move them to the home pages at the same time or even in the home page, to organize them, I cpuld just move the whole home page to the left or to the right. Think Samsung takes their time with OS updates because they try to improve some "Quality of Life" fearures other brands don't do.
After changing animation speed to 0.5x, how can I save these settings when exiting developers mode? When I close developers mode and restart the phone animation speed goes back to 1x.
This is a great question, and I do apologize because I don't want to be the guinea pig and try it (don't fix what's not broken). Did you end up trying it? My guess is that it would keep the animation settings as, I think, you're simply enabling the menu, not all of the functions. I say this because is that so many options in that menu are core to the devices operation and would hobble it if they were actually disabled.
@@daviddjpearl I tried it for force darkmode and no it doesn’t stay after you turn off dev mode. So it’s pretty much useless for me since I’m not gonna go turn it on/off when I use banking apps
Whem editing a photo using the magic eraser, what is the difference between the add and subtract before erasing there doesnt seem to be anything noticeable
I don't know why the battery percentage is off by default. The full resolution doesn't make any noticeable difference. Funny coincidence. When he turned that feature on his battery percentage was 34%. Mine was exactly the same at the moment I watched that part.
Gret video; however, much too fast. Do you have another video; however, with much slower directions and discussions for our English as a second language listeners. Thank you
Honestly, first thing to do is package it back up and send it back. Why did nobody say how hot the phone runs even when just browsing the web? Never had a pixel phone before but man my OnePlus 7 Pro is so much cooler when running even demanding tasks. I took a photo of my dog, hit one enhance feature and the phone got super warm. Really disappointed.
Yea I feel you on that, the main downfall of the pixel is the temp, along with battery life. If you don't use a case you are gonna really feel the heat, which is pretty disappointing
Not a video for newbies, just a video about a new phone. Most people watching this are either current Pixel owners or similar smartphone users. Either way, you do know you can just play back any part you missed???
How many days have you had it? Mine was absolutely terrible the first 4 days or so. Also .. I was in bad service areas so it was searching for signal all day... that killlllled the battery. But if it keeps up passed a couple weeks . ... bad phone. FYI I'm running pixel 8 pro.
How do you turn the dam phone on? Your tutorial is way too technical for us older folks who are not technical, I'm over 70 years old and you are talking too fast and way to technical. You need to explain the terms and be exact about button location. This video is just too advanced and technical for me. You did nothing but confuse me with this tutorial.
The buttons are reversed on this phone from all the other previous ones I've had. There are 3 buttons on the right hand edge of the phone. The top one is the owner button. Hold it down and that's how you power it on.

Such a great video, watched a lot of videos before, but this one was the best! learned new things, very informative

Very useful, thanks a lot!
does that animation setting impact your battery life?
This was an incredibly helpful video. I just got my first Pixel 8 Pro/Android phone and this helped a lot. Thank you!
老兄你的英文发音很棒 对于正在学习英语的我来说真的很容易听懂 ❤

Who in the right mind who leave their private contact info out there for a potential scammer to target?
Great video

Great stuff, thank you.
I had a pixel 7a before, its size is suitable and have a good camera, but the battery and fingerprint scanner are horrible 😢
Great tips!
Well I didn't get pixel 8 pro, though I just like watching your videos!
thanks man
Hi can you please do a video of the quick panel button grid please, it seems to have disappeared from my phone
When I long press my lock screen, the pop up button "customize lock screen" doesn't appear. Any advice on that?
Great video
Thanks a lot
Can't make folders in the Pixel app drawer that's very disappointed
Does it really matter though? It's still a great phone
Does animation scale stays after turning off developer mode? My banking app doesn’t allow dev mode

@@Clyne69, what apps might I ask? I've never had a problem and only heard this issue arise when to rooting the device.
While typing and when I switch between applications, and when I return to the application, the keyboard disappears and I have to open it again
Animation scale is completely foreign to me...
Watching this video in Pixel 8 pro😛
Is it possible to mirror the pixel 8 to a tv that has a fire stick
removing the animations on color and motion made it slower. i just turned all 3 off from developer options. thats kinda werid

Do you know how to improve the screen quality on the 8A
He is talking really fast and if you want you can go into the settings on RUclips and slow him down.
2:11 "имя" hehe
Hello Sir, nice vdi, thanks
Please can you advise if there is any alternative for Dex.I have samsung F23
I tried the screen read aloud and the voice is really fast, even if i lower it to the slowest available option, any tips on what I could do?

1 thing is to customize yur log screen.locke
I catch you in your next one.peace.
Nice tutorial

You must have had a bad phone. Mine never over heats. Best phone I ever had.

Yes pro only 😢

its possible to remove the google toolbar from the bottom of the screen?
Are you making a statement or asking a question? Proper grammar would help here.
I not getting to updated in settings
Not even sure how to decipher what your comment says!
Any way to hide the Google search bar?
I wanted to remove it too! I remember last time, I removed it from my p3xl.
Dude I tried it all and apparently it's not possible. I have heard that installing a 3rd party app it's possible but I'm not interested.
Great video. Just one question. Is there some reason you need to speak so fast considering this is a video for newbies?

I turn the sound to.75 on a lot of videos. I think speeded is a fad.
Which is best applock ?
Hey good evening.
Battery life is terrible! I'm only getting 4h screen on time! I literally watch the battery percentage drop while the screen is on 😮
Might be a dude unit you might want to take it back

Did you manage to suss it out? I've had zero issues with mine and battery life is strong.
Just got my pixel 8 pro, battery life is way better than the s22 ultra I had before. Might be a bad unit you could exchange cause it's faulty
Ya OK haha

Jitterbug perhaps?
Somebody needs a flip phone ASAP.
The Pixel has too many invasive features.
I just turned them off during the setup
