    I’m trying to configure for my Airtel Xstream.
    ONT - GNXS
    XPON - TP Link XZ000-G7
    Router - TP Link Archer C6
    I configured the SN and VLAN in XPON, PPPoE in Router. But still not able to connect to Internet, PoN is blinking with amber led only for sometime.
    Registration Status is O5
    Anything else I’m missing ? Is vendor tag in XPoN or MAC is required for Airtel Xstream ? Location Hyderbad

    • @geekytwins
      @geekytwins  3 месяца назад

      Yes bro, I simply unplug the GPON connection from Airtel’s router and connect it to the XPON terminal.
      And no, there would be no hinderance from Airtel. The only problem that would arise would be that you'd no longer be able to use the Airtel Thanks app for configuring your WiFi etc. since TR-069 is unavailable in this setup.
      TR-069 is anyway being used to invade privacy of our local network so it's better that it's off.

      Most of the routers provided by them are of low performance. Heavy users like me suffers a lot with speed and performance. I've a bandwidth of 1Gbps but the router provided by them cannot handle the data transmission of my devices at a time. Most of the time I had issues while multitasking and heavy workload. So, I've replaced the router provided by them with a better router like TP link Archer AXE95 which provides MU-MIMO support and OFDMA with WIFI 6E and this solved by issue.

      Yes , is there any difference?

    • @geekytwins
      @geekytwins  7 месяцев назад +1

      @rishi_raj_01 it's an established fact that the ONTs provided by ISPs, be it Zyxel, Nokia, or Sercomm, offer little to no customization as they are locked af and have poor routing performance as well, apart from other flaws such as inability to handle lots of clients simultaneously. Not to mention, lack of WiFi 6 support.
      We help folks overcome all these issue by using their own equipment.
      Now to answer your question, we have to replace the Airtel ONT with two devices as you can see in the video, the XPON terminal and a router, and I can attest that there has been a world of difference between my experience after taking the Airtel ONT out of the equation. The pings are more stable, WiFi range has improved, the Bufferbloat rating is always A now, QoS is also available and so on.
      To answer the question about NAT, well, this XPON terminal is merely a media converter, which converts optical to electronic signals, all the routing is done by Archer AX53, so there's no possibility of double NAT.

    The ONU that I'm using has one of the best laser accuracy. And it comes with a high performing ZTE CPU.
    But because of that the average temp stays at 55°C which stays fixed unless I use a cooling fan on it.
    I heard this could be bad for long time usages as the CPU could degrade considering lots of ONU avg temp stays within 30°C like
    CDATA XPON goes below 20° C.
    Then there's this G7 from TP-Link with over 60°C avg temp.
    What's your opinion on this?

      CDATA XPON ONU goes below 20°C? Bro, where are you from? Arctic circle? 😅😂
      Also, CPUs are built to withstand high temperature so as long as you are within their operating temps, it shouldn't matter.
