  • Welcome to the Gran Turismo 7 Garage Series! This video is focused on providing an overview of suspension tuning in GT7 :
    1) How the suspension works.
    2) Guidelines/tips on how to adjust it.
    3) The impacts of making changes.
This video pulls from the “Beyond the Apex” documentation within GT7 and shares some general guidelines to provide you with better stability and handling.
This is the second video in the series around tuning and hopefully will provide you with some quick, concise information that’ll help your lap times within GT7!
Tuning is and will always be somewhat subjective & personal. Please take this information and apply it as needed, understanding you will have to tailor the car to your specific tastes.
Be aware that my recommendations of how to tune the suspension are simply that. This method is not all encompassing, and while this is the method I personally use on my tunes, you might have an approach that works better for you! Thank you! And enjoy!

Quick correction. Graphic at 2:36 is incorrect. Tighter front vs. rear typically results in understeer - this is correct. In regards to the second part the correction is that tighter rear vs. front typically results in oversteer. Thanks to Sid for pointing that out! If you have any further questions just refer to the suspension section in the "Beyond the Apex" guides for further details.

quick tip - normalize your audio on these vids, i've had to adjust the volume on the last 4 or 5 of your vids as im watching them. some are quiet and others are REALLY quiet, Normalizing the audio should sort that so that all videos have roughly the same volume.

So I'm planning to do a in detail tuning video that takes your through taking a stock car, upgrading it, tuning it, and tracking it to dial it in - so there is more to come. It'll be a longer video, but should cover all aspects of tuning and testing. That video is likely 2 weeks away though, just have some other stuff in the hopper.

A very informative video thanks... But @ 2:36 talking about anti roll bars, your image suggests that raising front and rear relative to the other, tends to lead to understeer!? which is correct?

    • @Voss44
      @Voss44  2 года назад

Typo on that one, good catch. Tighter rear vs. front would be slight oversteer. Tighter front vs. rear would be slight understeer (I referenced the beyond the apex documentation to confirm for ya). I'll pin a correction on this one, it's a valid point and an editing miss on my part 😵

The sierra cosworth for example doesn’t respond at all to suspension tuning. I’ve spent hours on the car and the best set up is stock suspension and standard width wheels. I’ve bought every type of suspension for it, tweaking everything but still my lap times are better with stock. Some cars on the game need very little tune for suspension as I think the game replicates the real car which is already set up perfect from the factory like the Sierra. Most players slam the suspension as it looks good with the wider wheels and body mods then hate the car as it kills the handling.

i wish you could tune the car's suspension in game like tell us how changing each setting would impact the car or do a full tune like the way you would do normally and let us see that....i want to see in game effects and how you counter that...pls

    • @Voss44

It used to be like that somewhat, but they've since nerded the PP changes on suspension and LSD. I agree 100% they should at least show you how you're impacted performance!

Yes that one I designed. It's based on Bromus Racing livery from '71 I believe. It's on my profile. I've since changed the livery from the upgraded front and rear aero options for the car (I blacked out the lower spoiler and the middle of the rear spoiler because I thought it looked cleaner). I'll post the newer one that has the revised aero options later today!

    • @Voss44

understeer = harder to turn the car than you want it to be. Oversteer = the opposite. Steering is too sensitive.
