Jeffrey Daniels is THE BEST! Taught MJ and Janet Jackson THE MOONWALK (really named The Backslide) in Florida IN 1991...and ME THE MOONWALK IN 2008 IN HAWAII AT HIS DANCE CLASS "JUST GROOVE". HE'S AWESOME!!! :)
Still look and sound so good.Jeffrey still dances way above everyone.Still gives me goosebumps when i see him perform those dance moves.Wish it was still the 70s.
For those thinking it was Jeffery Daniels who taught MJ the backslide, it was also Boogaloo shrimp. Boogaloo shrimp was invited to MJ house with Janet in the house when he taught MJ a better version. So when you hear MJ say “street dancers” influenced his dancing, he’s speaking of Shrimp and Popping Taco.
I was there from the beginning, I danced on soul train when Jeffery and Jody was on there , I went to school with Jody , Dorsey high School, I remember Carolyn when she was 10 years old I worked with her dad , unc Giff , I feel Carolyn is doing a great job
True, Carolyn does a great job... She's just NOT Jody. So, in my book, as someone who grew up listening to them and can remember singing Jody's parts through a hairbrush as a kid, this is NOT really Shalamar.
I had the pleasure of watching Howard Hewitt, solo at the Pao De Queijo, concert platform at Sugar Loaf Mountain in Rio De Janeiro Brazil when I was much younger.😎
The Original Moonwalker himself! Jeffrey Daniels. Witnessed it first in the Early 80's! At Walt Disney world in Florida. Caught everyone off guard. Who didn't think it was possible!
young crowd are probably observing jeffrey daniels in the beginning pondering why is he imitating MJ's moves? not knowing that this guy along with another dancer from late 70s soul train are who taught michael jackson the moonwalk. MJ capitalised on that dance move during the thriller era and it became his signature. Both are legendary dancers
I remember hearing them tell stories of how Shalamar was formed and how young they were at the time. I'm sure Howard and Jeffrey had no idea at that time they would still be performing as Shalamar all these years later. It's wonderful to see them.
Shalamar doing the damn thang. Jeffrey Daniel still moves like he is on soul train, never ages, i love him. I know some fans miss Jody, But Carolyn does a great job, and too cute. And Howard Hewitt is just fierce period.. Enjoy!!! The fans in the Uk loves them unconditionally..And I do too!!
Sorry to correct you, but that is not correct. The moonwalk was invented by Bill Balley in 1943, you can search for him on RUclips. The person who really taught Michael to moonwalk wasn't Jeffery Daniels, he just claimed to have. It was in fact Michael "Boogaloo Shrimp" Chambers from Breakdance The Movie. Michael used the long stride moonwalk taught to him by Boogaloo Shrimp, the Jeffery Daniels one is an easy version of it which Bill Balley first invented. The long stride moonwalk technique is much harder to do. You have to lean forward & drag your feet right back as far as they can go whilst pushing your head forward. For example, watch Michael use that technique when he sang Billie Jean in 1992 at a Bucharest concert. Then watch Michael "Boogaloo Shrimp" Chambers from the world famous scene in Breakdance the movie, with the broom. You'll see him do the exact same moonwalk technique that he taught Michael.
