That Sony camera is $3,500. Thats why it looks crispier than most other videos. I was more focused on just how good the video looked the whole time LOL. My dream camera.
Get yourself a PC and MSFS 2020. There is a fantastic Beech Duke with a professionally done sound set. Developed by "Black Square" and published by "Just Flight", or available for purchase directly in the game. One of the best GA planes in a home flight sim
This beautiful plane is now based here in Europe. I personally think it is one of the most beautiful twins. When I watch the video like this, the owner can be happy with it!
Nice Flight Rich I like 2 C u flying all these kinds of different Airplanes and I admire u for that ! I was always fascinated with the Beechcraft Duke because of it's Streamlining which makes it a Beautiful Machine !! I wish u many more Safe Flights and ofcourse Good Luck SELLING these Airplanes including this Beechcraft Duke ! Thanks a lot for another great video !! 😊😊
A really beautiful airplane, I used to flight a brand new one back in the day, really expensive to maintain back then, I just imagine nowadays! Rich you are my hero, must of the time late you had being flying airplanes I flew in the 80s , thanks 🙏
Said it the last time, and I’ll say again: IMO, the Duke is the sexiest thing Beechcraft ever built. I remember a book I got at school through Scholastic in 1972; “Airplanes and Helicopters”. As a second grader I had an ongoing hard time deciding if the coolest looking plane in the book was the Duke or the Merlin.
Those Lycomings are such great engines, I really miss working on them and doing the overhauls @ the outfit I worked for. Damn near as reliable as an old Honda and probably the least catastrophic failures of that engine type. I remember specifically one coming in with a spun main bearing and it still got the pilot all the way to ground under its own power without blowing apart. I had never seen so much metal run through an engine without breaking a bunch of shi...stuff
as a mechanic but not a pilot I have a couple of ?'s out of curiosity. If you buy an older plane how much of a problem is obsolescence of parts etc? And if that is an issue and you need to replace an engine are there retrofits available?
I owned one and with Dukes it's EXTREMELY expensive to fly and maintain. Parts are hard to find and those engines are close to $100k fwf each. Plan for 22.5 gallons a side in cruise and around 200kts depending on altitude. Beautiful airplane and a dream to fly, just make sure you have very deep pockets.
Really depends on the airplane. Most of the mainstream airplanes are well supported and lots of common parts/engines. Retrofits for engines are out there, and can bring new life to an airplane’s market but can be pretty expensive.
No question, almost everything built by Beech is Pure quality. The Duke is a performer, but I gotta ask - have you ever flown a 56TC Baron? (Same engines and 1,000 pounds lighter). Just DON'T WATCH the fuel flows!! My Dad and I bought a 56TC back in '74. (Serial # TG-2). Interesting history of the plane, but more than a comment on a YT video. The plane was exported to Zimbabwe in '81, and that where I lost track of it, but in a word... "What a rocket ship!"
Yes - I got exposed to that airplane early in my ME flying. I didn’t know what I had my hands on until I started getting exposure to more piston twins - lots of performance!
That's how I wish the most aviation channel be like with sound and camera, no stupid music, nice shots, proper angles and realistic picture

I grew up flying a Duke and when the gear retract. the sound gets me every time. love it
Beautiful sound!

Hey Rich I had to come back on this flight with you and I did get a opportunity to flying a B56TC that’s fitted with the same engines this Duke Has
Camera quality is insane!

The Duke is a great aeroplane, very underrated.

Hearing 2900 RPM on takeoff is memorable!
Yes it is!
but that is not turbo-duke, right?
Correct.

Beechcraft created the Duke solely to keep their parts suppliers working full time. Beautiful airplane. A nightmare to maintain.
Still a cool airplane.
@@FlyingwithRich I agree. Never would own one.
Tempting.
Watch this airplane.Beech glued metal foam foil inside the Horizontal Tail assembly, We are seeing massive skin corrosion.
That’s been addressed.
👍☑️👏
Thats a high fuel burn for only 179 TAS
Big Bear has a high decency altitude
Sorry this trash always engulfe in flames due to many issues. I dont want it if you just say take the key its for free. Trash on its best.
Would this be a good plane to start a airline with i want to buy one
@@The_Raven_ probably not.
