  • You do not want to miss this powerful and important sermon from Pastor Jeff Durbin on the foundation of false religion. This message is from Apologia Church for our sermon series called "The Kingdom of God." We are in the Gospel According to Matthew in chapter 15.
    Jesus taught that what comes out of the mouth is from the heart. His confrontation with the leadership in His day went to the foundation of their problem: their hearts. If we are ever going to change we have to look into the basement of our lives. Go to the bottom. Only the Gospel can heal it.

    Thanks for this ... The holy Spirit used you to confirm for me that an action I took against my boss this last week was right. She had shared a TED Talk video talking about a woman's failed search to find God, pushing spiritism ... I confronted her (calm and lovingly), and in front of the whole teaching staff, with the gospel and was rebuked for it.
    I was in doubt if I had done right, until now.

      I was just reading in John this morning verses 15:18-19 Jesus speaking….”if the world hates you, know that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I CHOSE you out of this world!…because of this the world hates you.”
      I used to be a pretty vain person, and people’s opinions about me really effected me, either for good or for bad. Building up my pride, (which God opposes the proud) (James 4:6) or making me cower in fear or shame. Really thinking about it, it was the fear of my pride being attacked…smh😬. You speaking up takes courage!…and that strength comes from God, that chose YOU out of this world to advance His kingdom. Non believers carry the antichrist spirit (1John 4:2-3) and don’t even know it most of the time. The Antichrist spirit in them opposes the Holy Spirit in you. We have to continue to speak up on behalf of our Lord and savior that chose us for His Will, and follow His Will. The more we pray for boldness, and practice boldness, the easier it gets and we become stronger in Spirit, in preparation for more difficult times ahead….that’s why God gives us endurance through tribulation…”Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.” (James 1:2-3)
      Such a beautiful verse here. For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)
      We can rest assured that when our Lord says something, we can count on it. He is a man of His word….all puns intended 😊

    Fruit inspector is a term used to describe the religious. What is fruit inspecting? Well, it is what the religious use to see if a person is saved or not. The fruits of the Spirit are listed in Galatians 5 and they are: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. The religious inspect you to see if you are bearing these fruits. If you do not, they tell you, “You must not be saved.” They might also proclaim, “Fruits are the evidence of salvation; they prove you are saved.” They use Matthew 7:15-20 and John 15:6 to show one is going to hell for not producing these fruits. Are the religious correct in their thoughts? Of course not. We will review both the fruits of the Spirit as well as Matthew 7 and John 15:6. First, let us put on our thinking caps and ask ourselves a few questions.
    1. Can an unsaved person show love?
    2. Can an unsaved person show joy?
    3. Can an unsaved person show longsuffering towards humanity (through charity)?
    4. Can unsaved people promote peace (Gandhi)?
    If you are honest, the obvious answer is yes to all the questions. Let’s take this a step further, shall we?
    1. Do Jehovah’s Witnesses show these fruits? (If you didn’t know, they don’t believe that Jesus was God in the flesh and think you have to earn salvation).
    2. How about Mormons? Do they show fruits of the Spirit?
    3. Do peace loving Muslims show any of these fruits?
    Again, the answers to these questions are an astounding YES. Are these groups saved? No. If unsaved people show these fruits, and many in abundance, why does the religious use “fruits” as a gauge to determine salvation? Hmmmmmmm. Do you know who else shows these “fruits” according to the Bible? You may be surprised to learn not only unsaved people show these attributes, but also those who minister to Satan. Matthew 7, in reference to false prophets, reads:
    “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Matt 7:15). Notice, they are outwardly sheep, thus showing “fruits of the Spirit”.
    We also read in 2 Corinthians 11:13 and 14:
    “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”
    Do you see it? False apostles transform themselves into the apostles of Christ, thus showing fruits of the Spirit. This is also true of Satan, who transforms himself into an angel of light, thus showing fruits of the Spirit. Let’s take a look at fruits from a saved perspective. The church at Corinth was carnal, but were babes in Christ (1 Cor 3:1-3). They were a saved church; sanctified (1:2). However, they were sinning all over the place. Some of their sins were envying, strife, and divisions (3:3). A believer has relations with his stepmother (1 Cor 5:5), there were lawsuits among the believers (1 Cor 6:7) there was fornication (1 Cor 7:2), there was drunkenness at the Lord’s Supper (1 Cor 11:21). How many fruits of the Spirit were they showing? Not many, but they were saved. With reason and scripture we can conclude that fruits of the Spirit are not evidence of salvation. If the unsaved can do them without the Holy Spirit and saved people can all but ignore them, why do the religious insist it is mandatory that they should be exhibited? Because that’s what the “religious” do. Their mantra of “do” for salvation exceeds Jesus’s “done”. What about Matthew 7:15-20 and John 15:6?
    Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. (Matthew 7:15-20).
    From a first look at this passage, it appears that if one does not produce fruit, he or she is going to hell. First, this passage is about false prophets (verse 15), not the born again believer.
    Verse 16 reads, “You will know them (false prophets) by their fruits.” Well, this is not referring to fruits of the Spirit, as Satan presents himself as an angel of light. Notice verse 18: “a good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit”. Do you sin? Then guess what, you are not a good tree. The only good tree is Jesus. Jesus said, “Why callest me thou good? There is none good but God” (Luke 18:19). Then we get to verse 20, which reads, “Wherefore by their fruits you will know them.” Well, if false apostles transform themselves into apostles of Christ and Satan presents himself as an angel of light, what does “fruit” mean? The answer is in
    Luke, which talks about the SAME thing.
    For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart HIS MOUTH SPEAKETH. (Luke 6:43-45)
    This is what fruit means in this passage. It is doctrine and what that doctrine produces (fruit). There are only two ways to see false prophets. One, if they prophesy something and it does not come to pass then they are not from God (Duet 18:22). The second area is “what is coming out of their mouths”. If you study your Bible and learn, you can tell someone is false by the words they speak.
    Bad doctrine, or false doctrine, will not produce for the kingdom. For example, what type of fruit were the Pharisees producing? What does Scripture teach us?
    “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves” (Matt 23:15).
    Their fruit was to proclaim salvation by the works of the law to their disciples, to root their disciples in that doctrine that they became more a child of hell then their teachers!

      I'm not God and can't see people's heart. I simply ask someone if they were to die today and stand before God and He asked 'why should I let you in?' What would you say? If they talk about anything but finished work of Christ then I don't think they grasp the gospel. Belief means to trust, or put confidence in.

    When Pastor Jeff is talking about Divine Traditions (rituals and such) and Scripture, he says when Jesus confronted the Pharisee he told them that their Laws invalidate scripture. Which parts of the Old Testament were God's actual Laws and what parts were Divine Tradition (that we don't have to follow)? What parts are Oral Tradition and which are the Word of God?

  • @Libertygal74

    Sounded pretty good until you got to minute 39. Here are some points to ponder: He’s taking what Jesus says out of context. What that passage is talking about is the washing of hands before one eats, which is not in the Torah. It’s an oral tradition (which is what Jesus is arguing against every time the Pharisees try to “expose” Him). 2. You have to check Scripture against Scripture. Why would God give them these laws as a commandment “forever “ and then later say they don’t have to keep them? 3. When Paul said all Scripture is God-breathed, almost all they had was the Tanakh (Old Testament). 4. Jesus Himself said, “Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah - not until everything that must happen has happened.” (Matthew 5:18) We’re still here. 😊 5. That part Jeff Durbin read as “Jesus declared all foods clean” is a mistranslation. The original says, Mark 7:19
    For it doesn’t go into his heart but into his stomach, and it passes out into the latrine.” (Thus he declared all foods ritually clean.) Ritually clean. Remember this is a question of handwashing.

    Salvation and discipleship-always keep them separate. For salvation, Jesus said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matt 11:28-30). For discipleship (service) Jesus said “pick up your cross and follow me”.
    Discipleship is NOT easy with a light burden. They are talking about two different things. The religious confuse salvation and discipleship; please don’t make the same mistake. Salvation is FREE. Discipleship is costly, BUT will be rewarded at the Judgment Seat of Christ. If you abide in Him, you can bear much fruit! Are you in the doctrine of Jesus or the doctrine of the Pharisees (religion)? The parable of the publican and the Pharisee is a great illustration.

      Salvation (by which I think you mean justification and becoming saved) and discipleship are distinct, but they can not be separated, in this sense--that salvation is ALWAYS followed by discipleship and growth in the Christian life. Any "salvation" that does not produce good works was no real salvation.

    • @SoundMind.
      @SoundMind. 6 лет назад

      Greg B becoming saved? That’s an oxymoron you become saved not an ongoing process thats the mistake right there you are automatically justified and sanctified by faith. Your walk and lifestyle/growth is a whole another issue but works saves no one like the original post said is correct
      Prime examples: samson, solomon, and king saul

    • @gregb6469
      @gregb6469 6 лет назад

      I did not use "becoming saved" in an ongoing sense in my post. Initial salvation is a point-in-time event, when a person passes from being God's enemy to being one of His people. Theologians refer to this as justification, and it is by grace through faith alone. But there is a sense in which salvation is an ongoing process, in that during his life a believer is saved more and more from the control and power of sin (called sanctification), and he will be saved from the presence of sin at his death and going to be with Christ (called glorification). All who experience the first step WILL go through the other two steps. No one who does not experience sanctification and growth in holiness in his life has any legitimate claim to having been justified. No living branch in Christ fails to produce fruit. A fruitless branch is cut off and tossed into the fire. Discipleship/growth in Christlikeness in not an option for believers, it is the evidence that real justification has happened. Justification and sanctification are two sides of the same coin; they must be distinguished, but they can not be separated. When a person is saved the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in him, and the Spirit is not powerless, but immediately begins to transform the believer.

    • @SoundMind.
      @SoundMind. 6 лет назад

      When a person is saved the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in him and immediately begins to transform his or her life?
      A changed life should happen we ought to put sin away but in some instances it might not we have examples from Solomon, Samson, and King Saul yet they were saved again not true a changed life is volition not automatic if he or she yields to the flesh then that person is walking in the flesh you still have your flesh dual nature but your spirit is reborn but you have to walk in the spirit it's a personal choice God is not going to force you.
      The event of salvation is a one time deal your growth is something different some chose to grow more than others Ephesians 4 backs up everything i stated above.
      If you think evidence is proof someone is saved then you just admitted salvation is by works ruclips.net/video/Cz1jcvxnceA/видео.html&app=desktop
      Three Phases of Sanctification:
      God’s Written Word presents three different aspects of Sanctification:
      (1) Positional Sanctification;
      (2) Progressive Santification;
      (3) Future Perfected /or Final Sanctification.
      The biblical word for sanctification is hagiazo and it means “to set apart” for God or special purpose, or figuratively “to make holy or sacred.”
      The Tenses of Sanctification: We need to always remember that according the Holy Scriptures, CHRIST is our Sanctification!
      Like salvation, which has a past, a present, and a future aspect, Sanctification does as well.
      The Three Tenses of Salvation:
      >Past -Saved from the penalty of sin (Justification by Grace through Faith in Christ)
      >Present -Saved from the power of sin(Sanctification by Grace through Faith in Christ)
      >Future -Saved from the presence of sin(Glorification by Grace through Faith in Christ)
      Back to the topic of Sanctification.
      (Heres what you left out)
      1. Past Sanctification: Positional sanctification is past (and permanent): we were set apart in Christ at our spiritual regeneration and conversion.
      2. Present Sanctification: Progressive sanctification is present: we are daily being conformed to His image in Godliness - living continuously in the realities of Romans Chapter 6, 7, 8 - all at the same time!
      3. Future Sanctification: Ultimate sanctification is future: one day we shall see Him as He is and we shall be like Him. There will be no more sin in thought, word, or deed, or even in motives - and no “old Adam/old man” to make us even want a shred of that old, shoddy condition(sinfulness).
      Romans 5:8 > “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
      John 3:16,17 > “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”
      Titus 3:4-5 > “But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit”
      Ephesians 3:15-19 > “From whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith-that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”

    • @gregb6469
      @gregb6469 6 лет назад

      A changed life is not a "should" happen, it is a "will" happen, because all true branches produce fruit. It is not an option.
      Because the Spirit did not indwell OT believers the same way He does now, using OT figures to illustrate NT truths may not be wise.
      I didn't "leave out" anything; we are saying the same thing, just using slightly different terminology.
      What do you consider evidence of true salvation, if growing in Christlikeness (sanctification #2) is not to be taken as such?

  • @e.z.6916

    You really need to study the verse in Mark 7:19, words were added and also mistranslated. "Thus Jesus/he declared" does not even appear in the Greek". It says, "Because it enters not into his heart, but into the belly and goes out into the toilet, purging all foods."
    ******** All these translations add the words that are not in the Greek. Just look up the Greek.
    New International Version
    For it doesn't go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body." (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.)
    New Living Translation
    Food doesn't go into your heart, but only passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer." (By saying this, he declared that every kind of food is acceptable in God's eyes.)
    English Standard Version
    since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.)
    New American Standard Bible
    because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, and is eliminated?" (Thus He declared all foods clean.)
    It's really a shame that these Bible publishers add to the Word of God and pastors are not taught this in their schools and universities.

    39:10 Jeff, regarding the food, you need to realize that the "he declared all foods clean" is first, not part of the original text but an early translator's note.
    Even then, "food" to a Jew wouldnt be bacon and hotdogs, but rather just clean food. They most usually didntbuse the words "clean foods" as they knew that Food = Clean Food. "Unclean food" was simply not food.
    Furthermore, when Paul for example has his vision in the roof, the angel says "Do not call what God declared Clean as common" unclean and common are two distinct things. Unclean was not for food, ever, while common was clean food that was tainted thus no longer good.
    The angel is using this to say "no man is tainted, all men are holy" but the wording is careful to not say "do not call unclean that which God called Good" but rather "do not call *common* what God declared Good"
    For a man who delves in the greek and hebrew so much, i'm impressed that you havent noticed those issues.... could it be your "we are free to eat everything" tradition??
    Furthermore, the dietary laws come not from Moses, but from all the way from the garden. In the garden, God gives only plants for food, and we can see the difference between clean and clean animals explicitly as back as Noah, where God tells Noah to take way more clean animals (was noah told to carry food? No... simpky to carry extra clean animals.. why then?)
    Furthermore, all "rituals" were pointing to christ, but not food. Thats simply knowing God didnt plan certain animals for food

    How come Peter didn't get the memo that ALL foods are now clean? The physical aspect of the law is obedience (which is better than sacrifice) the spiritual aspect is the understanding, which helps obedience. In all thy getting, get an understanding.

    JAMES 2 : 14-26. 14. My friends, what good is it for one of you to say that you have faith if your actions do not prove it? Can that faith save you? 15. Suppose there are brothers or sisters who need clothes and don't have enough to eat. 16. What good is there in your saying to them, "God bless you! Keep warm and eat well!" - if you don't give them the necessities of life? 17. So it is with faith: if it is alone and includes no actions, then it is dead. 18. But someone will say, "One person has faith, another has actions." My answer is, "Show me how anyone can have faith without actions. I will show you my faith by my actions." 19. Do you believe that there is only one God? Good! The demons also believe - and tremble with fear. 20. You fool! Do you want to be shown that faith without actions is useless? 21. How was our ancestor Abraham put right with God? It was through his actions, when he offered his son Isaac on the altar. 22. Can't you see? His faith and his actions worked together; his faith was made perfect through his actions.
    23. And the scripture came true that said, "Abraham believed God, and because of his faith God accepted him as righteous." And so Abraham was called God's friend. 24. YOU SEE, THEN, THAT IT IS BY OUR ACTIONS THAT WE ARE PUT RIGHT WITH GOD, AND NOT BY OUR FAITH ALONE. 25. It was the same with the prostitute Rahab. She was put right with God through her actions, by welcoming the Israelite spies and helping them to escape by a different road. 26. SO THEN, AS THE BODY WITHOUT THE SPIRIT IS DEAD, ALSO FAITH WITHOUT ACTIONS IS DEAD.
    The Catholic Church is indeed the one true and holy Church established by Christ and His Apostles. Man made religions like all forms of Protestantism, came about over 1500 years after Christ established His Church on earth, and it was the Catholic Church that gave the world, and indeed spread the very Bible Protestants claim to be the sole authority or Sola Scriptura. It was only the Catholic Church through the Apostolic tradition and early Church fathers, and through the many Councils from 100AD through to 1546 that gave the 50,000 different Protestant denominations the very Bible they worship from. Except it was through the Protestant deformation that the Protestant movement removed seven books from the Old Testament, (which remains today in the Protestant version) because these books contradict the Protestant theology.
    Matthew 16:17-19
    17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

    Hi pastor Jef love what you do I have this thought that is worrying me and it was put out there by my pastor when he done a study on how to read REV and he agrees with this view and I don’t know what to do because this is not what I believe According to him preterism, all prophecy in the Bible is really history. The preterist interpretation of Scripture regards the book of Revelation as a symbolic picture of first-century conflicts, not a description of what will occur in the end times. The term preterism comes from the Latin praeter, meaning “past.” Thus, preterism is the view that the biblical prophecies concerning the “end times” have already been fulfilled-in the past. Preterism is directly opposed to futurism, which sees the end-times prophecies as having a still-future fulfillment.
    Preterism is divided into two types: full (or consistent) preterism and partial preterism. This article will confine the discussion to full preterism (or hyper-preterism, as some call it).
    Preterism denies the future prophetic quality of the book of Revelation. The preterist movement essentially teaches that all the end-times prophecies of the New Testament were fulfilled in AD 70 when the Romans attacked and destroyed Jerusalem. Preterism teaches that every event normally associated with the end times-Christ’s second coming, the tribulation, the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment-has already happened. (In the case of the final judgment, it still in the process of being fulfilled.) Jesus’ return to earth was a “spiritual” return, not a physical one.
    Preterism teaches that the Law was fulfilled in AD 70 and God’s covenant with Israel was ended. The “new heavens and new earth” spoken of in Revelation 21:1 is, to the preterist, a description of the world under the New Covenant. Just as a Christian is made a “new creation” (2 Corinthians 5:17), so the world under the New Covenant is a “new earth.” This aspect of preterism can easily lead to a belief in replacement theology.
    Preterists usually point to a passage in Jesus’ Olivet Discourse to bolster their argument. After Jesus describes some of the end-times happenings, He says, “Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened” (Matthew 24:34). The preterist takes this to mean that everything Jesus speaks of in Matthew 24 had to have occurred within one generation of His speaking-the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70 was therefore “Judgment Day.”
    The problems with preterism are many. For one thing, God’s covenant with Israel is everlasting (Jeremiah 31:33-36), and there will be a future restoration of Israel (Isaiah 11:12). The apostle Paul warned against those who, like Hymenaeus and Philetus, teach falsely “that the resurrection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some” (2 Timothy 2:17-18). And Jesus’ mention of “this generation” should be taken to mean the generation that is alive to see the beginning of the events described in Matthew 24.
    Eschatology is a complex subject, and the Bible’s use of apocalyptic imagery to relate many prophecies has led to a variety of interpretations of end-time events. There is room for some disagreement within Christianity regarding these things. However, full preterism has some serious flaws in that it denies the physical reality of Christ’s second coming and downplays the dreadful nature of the tribulation by restricting that event to the fall of Jerusalem.

      'The next day, as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the housetop about the sixth hour to pray. And he became hungry and wanted something to eat, but while they were preparing it, he fell into a trance In it were all kinds of animals and reptiles and birds of the air. and saw the heavens opened and something like a great sheet descending, being let down by its four corners upon the earth. And there came a voice to him: "Rise, Peter; kill and eat." But Peter said, "By no means, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean." And the voice came to him again a second time, "What God has made clean, do not call common." ' - Acts 10:9-15

      1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 2 through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, 3 who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer.6 If you put these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed.
      This is why we are to "say the blessing" or "say grace" over our food before we eat our meals. Not just tradition but doctrine.

      It isn't about what I like, it is all about traditions of man and not God. Jesus was not born on a day that goes back to the days of Nimrod and the solar solstice. He was born on a feast day. Specifically, the Feast of Tabernacles. The feast was a shadow...a dress rehearsal per say for the birth of Jesus. As far as Easter...has nothing to do with resurrection...has everything to do with Ishtar...look it up. But for resurrection, look to the Feast of Passover. Again, another Feast that God set up that has everything to do with Jesus, the lamb that was slain, whose blood covers the believers heart. His timing has everything to do with the Feasts. They allow the believer to correctly discern "time", since they are established in His timepiece. Do you honestly think Jesus is coming at some random day? Some kind of false rapture theory? No, you want to be left behind...read the parable of the wheat and tares....take not of Noah...numberous other stories....the wicked are removed, not the righteous. The righteous get to stand and see the deliverance of the mighty kind. When? Yeah, another feast day. The "day that no man knows the day nor the hour'....a Hebrew idiom referring to the feast of Trumpets. I'll stick with His traditions. Study it out. Try and prove it wrong.

      This passage was written to Gentiles that were just getting into applying the word of God into their lives. Paul is saying "let no one judge you" now that you are starting to keep these new feasts of God. Paul cannot preach against the word (which would have been the Hebrew scriptures-the new testament wasnt written yet) of God, otherwise he would be a false-prophet and would have been killed. Paul followed the laws of the Torah (Acts 24:14)

    I enjoy your sermons. I just wish you wouldn't teach against God being the creator. He created some animals to be food and some to not be food. Jesus didn't come to abolish the law, but to do it as an example for us. The animals didn't change. God doesn't change. God's law is perfect, converting the soul. Don't change perfection.

    • @robertobinkyman
      @robertobinkyman 6 лет назад +2

      I know that Jeff believes that God/Yahweh/Jesus is creator. However, when God told Israel what animals are or aren't food, He tied it to how He had created them. Jeff says that Jesus declared all foods clean, but what Jeff is really saying is that Jesus declared all animals to be food. Jesus was talking about eating bread with unwashed hands, but Jeff and most of Christendom have changed the meaning so that they feel comfortable eating what God calls an abomination. Since animals being or not being food is tied to creation, Jeff (and others) are denying creation by saying that pigs, shellfish, cats and rats are now food.

      Perhaps I didn't understand. I thought Jeff was saying that it's now okay to eat animals that God said were unclean. If I was wrong, I apologize. I understand that God gave his laws to all people through the nation of Israel (native born and sojourners). Those who join with Israel through the blood of Christ should want to keep all possible laws out of love for Christ. When Christ died he paid our debt of death and he also released Israel from their divorce and widowed Judah. All people are now eligible to join Israel and become the bride of Christ at His return. He desires for His bride to be holy and faithful to Him.

  • @tr889

    Jeff, you had lots of great thoughts, but the Lev 11 food laws do still apply. (the context of that passage was about eating with unwashed hands) Jesus could not preach against the Word of God otherwise he would have been in violation of Deut 13 and 18. He was speaking against their customs not the Word of God. (not one jot or tittle). We spend an enormous part of our lives eating (more than sex, which the Word says lots about) and God told us what is good for us to eat and what is not. The Cross did not change that fact that God designed some things as food and some not. It is not "ok" to carve up a plate-full of kittens and puppies and chow down. If someone did that, you would say they were doing wrong but by dismissing that part of the Word of God, you cannot say that it is wrong. You can only say you do not prefer it. Animals were separated as clean from unclean from Noah (Gen 7:8) to Revelation (Rev 18:2).(and Paul could not change anything either, or he would be violating Deut 13/18) Spend some time searching this out and dont follow the Reformed view on this topic. Check out videos from Doug Hamp and 119 Ministries for more thorough explanations. Thanks

I disagree on the food regulations, and your interpretation that unclean food is now clean, it just means it doesn't defile your heart. The food regulations were clearly for all people not just Jews. The vision about the sheet of unclean food was to highlight that you shouldn't call a man unclean because he eats unclean food therefore go unto the gentile and the pagan that asks of Yahusha, it was fine to enter that Romans house. Shrimp still contain toxins as do all the flesh of unclean animals. When it comes to keeping the Sabbath do you follow the Bible or introduced traditions of men.
