IMHO, listening to this album with someone who understands and appreciates the complexity of this type of music is a "next level" experience. Listening with one of the creators of the music takes it even higher! Thanks for taking the time to do this!

Mike - I just wanted to come out and say that this is the greatest concept album ever created in the history of rock music. You all should be extremely proud of this magical masterpiece I do not forsee another album rivaling this in a long, long time. Kudos to you all for creating a "red letter album" that will stand the test of time in music history. It is that good. Blessings Mike!

so NOT stuck on himself.. he's a bigger music fan than most of us. watching him with any one of his bands or projects, he always seems to be having more fun than everyone else. his enthusiasm is definitely infectious. one the most inspiring drummers for me personally and his influence has for sure changed my own drumming

When you're talking about the climax, at the end of Broken Sky for the final time, and getting emotional... I get it, Mike!!! I get goose bumps every time I hear this and live it was such an incredible moment. You're a humble guy and a music afficianado. There is no shame in appreciating good music, even if it is your own. It was fun to look back on this after seeing you guys perform it live. Thanks for being real with us, brother!!

Man, I can't get enough of this album. At 52, I think the 'ear-worminess' has a lot to do with the revertigo I've been experiencing, listening to all the tasty, unique mid-80s tone throwbacks... my fave band influences & their melodic instrumentations growing up in the '70s & some... Dream Theatre (of course), Kansas, Yes, Genesis, Floyd, Rush, Queen, Who, etc. OMG, so many... even Marillion, for cryin' out loud. Dare I detect Tool, Protest The Hero...? Whatever, it's all there. In the immortal words of my dearest college prof, Jack Richardson (producer of The Guess Who, may he rest in peace)... "A good musician borrows, a great musician steals." Words to live by, so it's all good, guys. There is nothing new under the sun... except collective, synchronistic beauty from the One True Source. Mike, I wept at the exact same spot... will likely weep at the show too in Toronto next month.

I got goosebumps too Mike! Unbelievable job, this album is truly amazing! I love it! It's not wrong to have goosebumps and tears from your own album, means you guys did it right! As far as a dessert album disk, I guess you're right about that one too, would work for me. Not too many artists involve their fans in the creative process quite the way you do. I appreciate that alot! Awesome Job! Thanks!

Mike, you can't imagine how much relief you've brought me by doing this. I don't know you on a personal level but you are certainly a 'man card' holder in any mans book and for you to admit how much the end of this album moves you brought a sense of well being to me. I wont even play this music in front of people because of how hard it hits me when that break happens. This song and 'A love that never dies' are two songs I routinely thank GOD for letting me live long enough to hear and for having the life experience to understand where its all coming from.
    Thanks man!

What a good idea!!! This it´s the closer I can be from what is thinking (and feeling) a musician when he made an album.
No one could "inside" coment this album than who recorded it.
Don't know if this is gonna be THE way of presenting albums from now on, but it helps me listen to tiny details other wise would pass unnoticed to me.
. . . and Mike seems to be enjoying it and that's nice.
    GREAT!!

thanks mike for sharing this with us. the album sounds amazing! great job by all involved. you were quoting inspirations for certain sections of the music and i definitely heard a styx "fooling yourself" keyboard solo in there. not sure if it was neal or bill responsible for that one. you also asked if it was weird to get emotional listening to your own work. absolutely not!! you pour your heart and soul into creating something like this and to hear it all come together, even after so many projects, is incredibly powerful. i'd question your sincerity if you didn't have an emotional reaction to it. all the best.

I am loving that you did this, Mike! It is so fun and informative to be inside of your head as you listen to this. I saw this album performed twice in 2017. I met you at the Arcada Theatre outside of Chicago back in January and then I sat in the front row. What an incredible show!!! Then it was even funner to see you guys in August when you came back to Chicago at the House of Blues. Your smooth easy going style is fun to watch. I can't be the only person who hears a huge Styx (Foolin' Yourself) type keyboard solo in the middle of "The Road Called Home." Its so different from so much of the rest of the project. I have been listening to this album a lot since the middle of September.
