The musicianship here is exceptional. I just can't fault it. All are brilliant. I'm really hesitant to big up any individuals but I must. Eric Gillette's playing is the most powerful, liquid, expressive guitar playing I've ever heard. Beautiful. As for Randy George - best bass player in Prog Rock, or any form of rock for that matter. I was a devotee of Chris Squire's playing, in Chris's sad absence Randy's the man!
Hey absolute top class and the hammer performance of the musicians! Incredibly. The concert is 1000 times better than the studio version. It's more compact. Super. I hope that we will continue to listen at this top level. I bought the Blueray version! The live version is currently my favorite in my rock collection.
No wonder Mike Portnoy wanted out of DreamTheater, he just wanted more of a joyful noise to make. This is way progressive and totally satisfying to the soul and heart
@@mobilegeekID I disagree. MP said he wanted to spread his wings and not be tied down to one band. That doesn't mean DT didnt give him a chance to do it. He just wanted to do more than he could, so he left. He asked the band to take 5 years to re-energize, they said no. He left. Plain and simple. Stated by MP as well.
I disagree. Last years in DT MP shifted band towards heavy side. Then he was enjoying raw sound of A7X and WD. Now, he made full circle and again is prog rocker.
