Beautiful! Your music inspired me to build my own dulcimer, and now I'm learning to play it! Thank you so much! I hope I don't lose any fingers while using power tools because then my music playing would come to an end. Ha ha that would suck.
Thank you, Marty! Inspiration is one of the greatest “power tools” there is, and I know that the dulcimer will guide you in how to use it. ;-) Thanks for stopping by to listen!
I've only just found this. In 2022! Utterly Beautiful! There are other pieces uploade too, I'll keep listening. I used to play the dulcimer myself but that was 50 years ago until one day someone jealous stole it. Seems to me you're in England? (or rather were)
Thank you for staying around to listen, Gonnet! I'm glad you enjoy the music... I had planned to go to England, but my trip was cancelled because of COVID. I have kept in touch with the UK dulcimer community, though, and participated in an online festival with the Nonsuch Dulcimer Club. :-) It might be worthwhile to find another dulcimer! Mine have brought a lot of joy into my life...
Thank you, Cynthia! I'm glad that you enjoyed my song. :-) I've gravitated toward using a pick on this piece for reasons of volume, but I have fingerpicked other pieces more recently.
Beautiful playing Jessica. I have just found your videos through your three part tutorial. The mountain dulcimer allows for slides, hammer on's and pull-off. All the things that I cannot possibly do playing solo Autoharp. I am new to playing the M/D and find your playing very inspiring. I have subscribed to your channel. Watching your videos will be a big help to me in learning how to play this wonderful instrument.
I am so glad that you enjoy my music, Ken, and I am happy that it has encouraged you to explore what is possible on the mountain dulcimer. Thank you for following my videos, and all the best to you in your dulcimer adventures!
Absolutely beautiful Jessica. I just ran across your video trying to find sheet music for Carrickfergus so I could learn the tune and also do the tablature. I wish I had your touch on the mountain dulcimer. Hope to meet you sometime at a festival somewhere.
I just found your comment, dulcimer builder, and I thank you! :-) Perhaps we will cross paths at a festival one day. Meanwhile, enjoy your dulcimering!
I wish I was in Carrickfergus Only for nights in Ballygrand I would swim over the deepest ocean Only for nights in Ballygrand But the sea is wide and I cannot swim over And neither have I the wings to fly I wish I had a handsome boatsman To ferry me over my love and I My childhood days bring back sad reflections Of happy times there spent so long ago My boyhood friends and my own relations Have all past on now with the melting snow So I'll spend my days in this endless roving Soft is the grass and shore, my bed is free Oh to be home now in carrickfergus On the long rode down to the salty sea Now in Kilkenny it is reported On marble stone there as black as ink With gold and silver I would support her But I'll sing no more now til I get a drink Cause I'm drunk today and I'm seldom sober A handsome rover from town to town Ah but I'm sick now my days are number Come all me young men and lay me down Come all me young men and lay me down. Great news, trackie! I’m honored to provide your soundtrack. ;-)

Thank you for listening, FR9090! :-) I don't have any tab for "Carrickfergus" at this time, but thank you for your interest.
Lovely ...
Thank you, Anne! :-)

Thank you very much! :-)
I wish I was in Carrickfergus
Only for nights in Ballygrand
I would swim over the deepest ocean
Only for nights in Ballygrand
But the sea is wide and I cannot swim over
And neither have I the wings to fly
I wish I had a handsome boatsman
To ferry me over my love and I
My childhood days bring back sad reflections
Of happy times there spent so long ago
My boyhood friends and my own relations
Have all past on now with the melting snow
So I'll spend my days in this endless roving
Soft is the grass and shore, my bed is free
Oh to be home now in carrickfergus
On the long rode down to the salty sea
Now in Kilkenny it is reported
On marble stone there as black as ink
With gold and silver I would support her
But I'll sing no more now til I get a drink
Cause I'm drunk today and I'm seldom sober
A handsome rover from town to town
Ah but I'm sick now my days are number
Come all me young men and lay me down
Come all me young men and lay me down.

Hi, Beautiful arrangement. Would you happen to have tab that you might share?

In this and others you seem to be using a small pick. If so that is amazing work, but then so is everything you do.
