Bit of a weird one, but it would be cool to see Jonathan react to the guns in the Assassin's Creed franchise. Between the hidden gun from AC2, Cesare's gun from Brotherhood, the 18th century guns in AC3, Black Flag, and Rogue, the Napoleonic era guns in Unity, and the revolvers from Syndicate, there's a number of really interesting things from a huge range of history that he could talk about.
Edit: And I even forgot to mention the artillery cannons in the beginning of Brotherhood, all the cannons in 3, Black Flag, and Rogue, and the Greek Fire from Revelations! Not to mention the Da Vinci weapons from brotherhood, like the machine gun. There are so many really interesting options to talk about from that series.

Even the inside of the chamber where it's protected by the shells would get a lot of wear just from them going in and out, plus the heat.

Hey could you guys have Johnathan react to the guns from Zombie Army 4? I’ve been playing it recently and I’m curious what he would say about the guns. Especially once they get attachments and the more outlandish guns like the preacher.

The m14 bolt catch pushes in to hold bolt open So slapping it wouldn't send bolt home and I just tried slapping side to see if it causes any sort of inertia bolt bounce...all that happened is hurt my wrist

@@jonathanferguson1211 just hearing the discussion on “real” guns is good enough. Been saying they should give you some old PS2 games like BLACK or Socom so we can look at how they had to model guns back then, and then see the real stuff in hand. I think that would be a lot of fun.

+13:00 on the face of it a Pink Gun seems a little silly, but actually it isn't quite as silly as it first seems.
The SAS had their "Pink Panther" edition vehicles and such like and some towns use a lot of pink brick or pink render on their buildings. also Pink isn't the "worst" desert camo you can imagine when it's a muted pink like this. So as outlandish as it seems I kinda dig it for historical reasons.

Jonathan is very knowledgeable, but sometimes I just want to shout at the screen. That Remington 700 is clearly supposed to be the 700 SPS Tactical which is perfectly correct on theme, and has a 16" barrel.

On the M14, it’s just a bolt hold-open device. There’s no good way to use it as a bolt release. The best, and really only way, is to simply pull back on the charging handle with no magazine inserted, or a full magazine inserted.

the mk32 MGL has a plunger to drop all the shells out but to wind it up you have to do it all in one go. if you do it like that in the game you will be stuck with it only rotating once until its released.

The slap with the m14 is right and wrong at the same time. The bolt release they have in right now really only works as a bolt catch. You technically could use it ws a bolt release I think, but I find it nearly impossible to do it without breaking my thumb. Instead most people buy an aftermarket paddle that you replace the current one with. If you did that then you can slap it .

We actually do have suppressors that work this well now, where If you're using subsonic ammo, the loudest thing you hear is the gun cycling. Commercially available suppressor baffling technology has made huge leaps and bounds over just even a decade ago.

The M14, as originally designed, didn't have a bolt quick release. The "button" in this video appears to me to be the stock bolt stop which is way too small and fiddly to actuate with a firm press let alone a quick slap. You have to install an aftermarket part if you want it to function as it is portrayed here (i.e. like an AR-style rifle). As an additional nerdy gripe magazine changes on a real-life M14 are a lot more "rock-and-lock" than is portrayed here. They could have just reused the AK animation and it would have been a lot more accurate.
