Wow 😮 this had me thinking...the opposite could be true. Food recalls where there are no reports of customer illness. Many foods have known trace amounts of bacteria and people have been consuming them for thousands of years. But to be safe, governments set safe thresholds to protect consumers. But recalls still happen without customer illnesses. 😢
A lot of Foodborne illness is also underestimated since most people won't go to the hospital if they simply have nausea and diarrhea for a day or so! If you're in good health, you just stick it out until you're better
