The Movie - Viewer is left to most definitely assume that the character "Marjorie" will be Found Not Guilty when her trial resumes ... probably the following day ... We all assume as well that "Dave" and "Julia" will go on to be married after his divorce comes through from his alcoholic wife "Belle" ... It was pretty CLEAR to me that those two outcomes would come to pass ... And that "Marjorie" would grow up and one day marry as well ... Just another assumption on my part though , @Ubique2927

I love the old black and white movies I was curious as to why I found that the film script was slow and so illogical. I do take into consideration that film making was still in it's infancy. Rifle in golfed myself in the plot at all times with these wonderful movies.But I found it hard to believe that an attorney would press his kurt wife who is debilitated through alcohol and gets shot. The film was a very big disappointment.I have a big heart for the three main actors.

Although in the same sentence you used the word "Rifle" which makes no sense at all. I'm not trying to hurt you, and I love all 3 main actors too.
