This was fun. Great creativity on the Carl Weathers custom. I'm a Action Jackson junkie. There's just so many cool looks for this figure. Being a G.I.Joe clone in 8 inch scale and what comes after for MEGO is so important to 1970s toy collecting. Very proud to have helped out on getting you some materials for this video. My first action figure was an Action Jackson back in 1972 , i had a few of them, i lived in New Jersey then we moved back to Puerto Rico snd it was very hard to get Action Jackson, so i kept collecting GI JOE and my younger brother Big Jim.
This was great to watch, and that last custom came as totally unexpected for me lol I have a feeling that it's only a matter of time before I buy from CTVT for customs. Good luck with the channel next year! 👍🤘
Action Jackson was a poor kids GI JOE, in which growing up on welfare with a single Mom, I could not afford neither,A social worker came to our house one day and gave my older Brother a large box full of GI JOE`s with accessories a Jeep and a Tank, ( we never thought in our childhood we would never get such toys) When he was out starting school I would play with them, in which would piss him off and then he would hide them on me. I ended up saving my money to go buy a GI JOE and realized I can`t afford this and I never liked action Jackson cause he looked so cheap compared to GI JOE and I never liked his face anyway. So when the Marvel line came out then I got excited and bought those figures until the stupid looking Marvel "Thing" figure came out at some point all my Megos went into a box along with my Howdy Doody ventriloquist doll and sat there til my 50`s when I rediscovered them again and then Mego came back into circulation. I love your custom, if Action Jackson looked like that in my childhood I would have bought it.Great Video! looking for the next one.
Thanks man! I appreciate you checking out the review. Action Jackson is kind of dumb, but without him , there's no Mego as we know it. So I'm glad he exists. I didn't grow up with any of this stuff so it's cool to discover it now 50 years on. GiJoe had it all over AJ but then that's why he's STILL more expensive. But Mego's cheap charm really comes through and to be honest, I'd take the World's Greatest Super Heroes over GiJoe Action Team any day.
I can NOT believe you didn't karaoke that theme song for us. LOL! @6:40 WTF is up with that "Aussie Marine?" Since WHEN?! Why the Aussie Marine but not an Aussie Army outfit? Or an Aussie Navy for that matter? Who the HELL made that marketing decision? But that Carl Weathers at the end! YOU. ARE. THE. MAN! Now that you've shown you can get Weathers' grape online, and taking into account you've got Jesse on-hand, can we expect a Dan Classic Exclusive custom line of Predator figures?
Love Action Jackson, the 8" scale lets Mego do more things and have more vehicles and sets. Made it to 2245 and had to turn it off, I have kids man... I guess you don't care but I DO! Shame; because other than that it was a great review.
