I walked in a little Church I used to go to about a year after I hadn't been. I was on the way to the Hospital to see my Grandmother who was not going to make it (According to Drs.) when I passed the Church. I all of a sudden pulled in the parking lot and went in crying asking for Prayer for Her the Preacher said Ma'am, you're not supposed to come in here like that and interrupt us. I said just please Pray with me for my Grandmother and so they finally did. Afterwards ppl were crying and saying Praise God & the Preacher says Ma'am I'm sorry & you come back anytime because we need more ppl like you that has your Faith. Well I just said Thank You to everyone & left. By time I got to the Hospital my Grandmother was doing so much better & got to come home about a week later. She taught me about God and Jesus when I was just little & she lived to be 97. Thank You Nobody should Judge anyone that's God's place.
My husband drove truck for over 40 years, his cb handle was the outlaw and I was sunshine, now he has passed away a month ago and Im taking his ashes home for a proper military burial, Im so lost without him, never imagined this would happen. How stupid are you to think that any of that is true? How poor and uneducated you must be. Cringe. Religion/churches are a huge con job, they are fleecing you. All the wars and famines/death from them, the pedophiles protected, the LGBTQIA+ people destroyed by their hate.
From an incredible era when real music actually meant something. All of the great stuff I grew up on. Never get tired of it. Way better than the bs being peddled as country music today.
So many churchs now are social clubs people come to be seen not to worship. The True God accepts you just as you are ,doesn't care what you wear what kind of car you drive it's what's in you heart that counts. His word says whosoever believes in him shall have everlasting life.
I'm 45 now lost my dad 8 yrs ago and we loved this song and I always get something in my eye real bad when I hear this song Where has all the great country music gone ?
You know Dave, I'm 68 now, and that same kinda stuff gets in my eyes too! It comes from the Country Gospel, that comes from Heart of the Gospel, in the Greatest Christian Nation on the Face of this Planet!! God Bless!!
My condolences and sympathy 🙏 As for where all the great country music has gone.. here's a story: Rory Feek [of Joey and Rory] would play his guitar that had a custom inscription which said "I miss country music" and he got a lot of criticism from the country music elites so he stopped playing the guitar onstage and instead started to play another guitar inscribed with the words "I love country music" in order to appease the naysayers. Thought that might resonate with you. Peace, love and blessings!
This song and daddies hands by holly dunn always makes me think of my daddy and cry. Another song that beings my tears is teddy bear by red sovine. I wish music was still music. Not this crap they play now.
So sad. Thank You Jesus for not turning the poor and broken hearted away.. this song carries a strong message for all of us. Our material possessions mean nothing to our Lord and Savior ..

I think he was more Christian than a lot of self proclaimed Christians now days , like the rest of us he had his faults, just remember, Let those without sin cast the first stone if you think you can .

❤ I hear you. I will be 56 soon and feel the same as you. I am the outlaw and rebel in my family. I have been going to church every week, rarely miss, for almost 10 years. Grew up in church, baptized at 17. God is my Truest Love and best friend.
I’ve always enjoyed this song as Paycheck hits the ole nail on the head..expect for the end his last words “I’ll be seeing ya Lord..I Hope”. Ya don’t have to hope folks. You can know! Just invite Jesus into your heart and ask forgiveness of your sins, repent (repentance means to turn away from) of your sins. Then just make an honest effort to live by Gods law. Read and study the Bible Gods word and His law. Don’t have to hope you can know. And boy is life so much sweeter when ya do.
I have had some of the most profound religious experiences, where I felt God was close enough to reach out and touch, in places where you would think God would be a million miles away. I have been in churches and around those who played the part of "the faithful" and felt as if God was a million miles away.
He accepted Jesus as his Savior. He is saved! Glory Hallelujah!! May the Light Perpetual Shine Upon You, and May You Rest in Peace and Rise in Glory, Johnny.

I have a love for god! And I know Jesus and love that man who stood up for are higher power. He died for what's right! 😢My grandmother was from the south. She watched church channel every week. She was a Saint! I grew up in a church , christian and met the most judgemental people in my life! I met the best souls in a crack House ❤v
I just had this played at my partner of 17 yrs. funeral. He loved this song so much. He had long hair and a beard and when almost no where with out his black cowboy hat.
This just played on my playlist, I love the message and I've learned to not cast stones at believers or non-believers. Hopefully we can learn to love people where they are and help them as they help us overcome whatever is weighing us down. Jesus Christ is the answer to whatever ails us.
Love this song because the same thing happened to me. I went to my mother's church to surprise her for her birthday. I was dressed in all black, black duster and cowboy hat. I had long hair and a beard. When I opened the door I was told that I couldn't come in looking like that. My mom showed up and have me a hug. The guy called her by name and he asked her if she knew this bum. She said yes and then he told me I could come. I said no thanks I don't want to go in a place where I wasn't welcome!!
Paycheck what a outstanding song my friend, really brings tears to my eyes, RIP Mr.Paycheck till we meet in heaven, I can hear your voice up there singing.
Thank you for sharing your prayer with those of us listening to music in the world today to remind us we aren't perfection humans and because of our curse we had to be redeemed that The creators words are true. That He loves us he is love. Those folks should had praised God that a lowly man thought of his redemption the fathers love and he wanted the blessings that are freely his and welcomed the man to the worship place of his family. Again thanks for this reminder. Outlaws prayer.
Oh how I wanted to play this in a couple of churches but then I remembered church wasn't about them it was about the lord and your own personal relationship with him. Johnny was right, the lord knows your heart.
Paychecks lyrics for this song reminds us to stay focused doing GOD'S WILL. I HAVE EXPERIENCED WHAT HIS MESSAGE IS ABOUT AND THE POLITICS OF CHURCH. IT WAS A VERY SADDENING EVENT. NONE THE LESS I ENJOY THIS LONG AGO COUNTRY MUSIC. JUST AS THESE ENTERTAINERS SUGGESTED ...." NO ONE WILL EVER TAKE THEIR PLACES".
I can honestly listen to this song and reflect on anyone looking down on me because of where I’m from or my money or how my family is.. it doesn’t even have to be religious that’s just how good this song is
Church attendance is so down. By the grace and the power of God and the Holy Spirit we all find peace and achieve our final destiny. Praise our Savior and Our Fathers Grand Plan .
AMEN, one of the truest songs I've ever heard, far to many "self righteous" people. I Praise The Lord that it's not a denomination or religion, it's a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Johnny's brother was one of my best friends, cancer claimed his life a few years back, now Johnny is gone too, may they both Rest In Peace.
Back in May I found out my father was very sick when I got to the town he lived in I found out that he was in hospital. My father gave me POA. I asked that day what he wanted when the end was near. (Doctors told him n myself there was nothing more they could do for him. ) This is one song out of 50 that dad want played in his room 24/7 the last week of his life. When it came to the service I played this song know that every word sounds like my father
This song reminds me of my wife. It was her favorite song before she lost battling cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, life could be so unfair most times, but sometimes I wonder why bad things always happen to good people.
I attend Sugar Creek Community Church here in Adair County Missouri. Kirksville,MO to be exact. They don't judge me. I am accepted. I am tattooed from neck to ankles and have a bit of a past with drug and alcohol addiction. Been clean since 1995. Its about whats in your heart, not whats on the outside.
Dave B,I couldn't agree more. I lived in Kansas City for several years and every week when I would go to Liberty MO. I drove by one of those "Super Churches". It amazed me just the sheer number of people that were there. I think that's a good thing. If it works for them then bless them all. I can sit in my little country church and be content. I am an ordained minister as well as an old fashioned ex Hell Raiser and have learned that it don't always have to be a church. Some of my favorite "me and Jesus" times are when I am sitting on the bank of a lake or pond waiting for the fish to bite, or when I am mowing the lawn with my headphones on listening to my music. I hope that everyone can eventually find a nice little country church where neighbor looks after neighbor regardless of a past.
Thank you Mr. Paycheck for recording this song with a powerful message. This song & that old Hank Williams song Be Careful Of Stones That You Throw should be played in churches all around
I was fortunate to work two of Johnny's shows. One as his private security and after he got out of prison I was the stage manager at one of his concerts. What a great musician he was !

From an incredible era when real music actually meant something. All of the great stuff I grew up on. Never get tired of it. Way better than the bs being peddled as country music today.
Amen
AMEN
So true it's nothing like the real country music should be. Amen
So many churchs now are social clubs people come to be seen not to worship. The True God accepts you just as you are ,doesn't care what you wear what kind of car you drive it's what's in you heart that counts. His word says whosoever believes in him shall have everlasting life.
Hello Barbar
I'm 45 now lost my dad 8 yrs ago and we loved this song and I always get something in my eye real bad when I hear this song
Where has all the great country music gone ?
You know Dave, I'm 68 now, and that same kinda stuff gets in my eyes too! It comes from the Country Gospel, that comes from Heart of the Gospel, in the Greatest Christian Nation on the Face of this Planet!! God Bless!!
Sorry for your lost
It's gone for the sake of money.
So sad. Thank You Jesus for not turning the poor and broken hearted away.. this song carries a strong message for all of us. Our material possessions mean nothing to our Lord and Savior ..
Yes of gospel and country music.. music makes my days go by faster and happier❤️❤️🙏🙏
Hello Janice how are you doing today??
Nice song Johnny paycheck and yet so true 💔 its all comes from the heart 🌹💕 people see some one and judge Jesus loves us all 💔🌹
I love this song.,because I know God takes me as I am. Poor and never broken.Thank you, Johnny, for singing this song.

Thanks Lord for all those fine ladies in the choir. Sing the song, Angels. Thanks Johnny Paycheck from a long-haired, bearded, long-time, outsider, occasional outlaw fan.

LEGEND TO EVERY AGE GROUP, IM 55 AND STILL LISTEN TO ALL THE OUTLAWS. LOVE AND MISS YOU JOHNNY
❤ I hear you. I will be 56 soon and feel the same as you. I am the outlaw and rebel in my family. I have been going to church every week, rarely miss, for almost 10 years. Grew up in church, baptized at 17. God is my Truest Love and best friend.
i LOVE THIS PRAYER, SEEMS THERE ARE A LOT OF CHURCHS THAT SHOULD HEAR THIS PRAYER!
Good Sabbath morning to the children of God. "Man shall not live on bread alone but on EVERY word from God's mouth." Matt 4:4. God bless
So tru Jesus died for us all. He loves us all the same. He doesnt care about how rich you ar. This song is great thanks for sharing.

Great song, every body needs to hear this. Thank you Johnny.
Hi ,how are you,how is the weather treating you?
I just had this played at my partner of 17 yrs. funeral. He loved this song so much. He had long hair and a beard and when almost no where with out his black cowboy hat.
Hello Brenda how are you doing today???
Johnny Paycheck does a wonderful way with that song. It really touches my heart
Johnny, you are so right . Jesus won't be in that crowd either. Love you .
Hello friend, how are you doing today?
Hello Lori how are you doing today???
Oh how I wanted to play this in a couple of churches but then I remembered church wasn't about them it was about the lord and your own personal relationship with him. Johnny was right, the lord knows your heart.
This song is so true of so many so called Christensen Churches. I’m so glad that the Church I attend is not that way.
@Hello Diane how are you doing
Love this song
Alot of churches are like that, sad 😢

Paychecks lyrics for this song reminds us to stay focused doing GOD'S WILL.
I HAVE EXPERIENCED WHAT HIS MESSAGE IS ABOUT AND THE POLITICS OF CHURCH. IT WAS A VERY SADDENING EVENT.
NONE THE LESS I ENJOY THIS LONG AGO COUNTRY MUSIC. JUST AS THESE ENTERTAINERS SUGGESTED ...." NO ONE WILL EVER TAKE THEIR PLACES".
I love that song by Johnny PAYCHECK about the scruffy guy coming into church to hear the preaching, it really spoke to my heart.
I can honestly listen to this song and reflect on anyone looking down on me because of where I’m from or my money or how my family is.. it doesn’t even have to be religious that’s just how good this song is
what a wonderful heartfelt song by a true country legend.
Church attendance is so down. By the grace and the power of God and the Holy Spirit we all find peace and achieve our final destiny. Praise our Savior and Our Fathers Grand Plan .
I always loved this song. It has a ring of truth in it.
Johnny Paycheck did a wonderful job on this Outlaw's Prayer. He sang It's So wonderfully and beautifully. I just love it a lot❤

Hey how are you doing..?
Back in May I found out my father was very sick when I got to the town he lived in I found out that he was in hospital. My father gave me POA. I asked that day what he wanted when the end was near. (Doctors told him n myself there was nothing more they could do for him. ) This is one song out of 50 that dad want played in his room 24/7 the last week of his life. When it came to the service I played this song know that every word sounds like my father

Johnny Paycheck has always been a favorite of mine. And this song says a lot about the churches today
Hello Bertie how are you doing today??
That is the way most CHURCHES I'VE SEEN IS I JUST BELIEVE IN THE LORD FOR MY BLESSINGS .

HE WAS A GOOD COUNTRY SINGER!!!!❤❤
This song reminds me of my wife. It was her favorite song before she lost battling cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, life could be so unfair most times, but sometimes I wonder why bad things always happen to good people.
God touched his life and many and me! Thank you lord,!!❤
I attend Sugar Creek Community Church here in Adair County Missouri. Kirksville,MO to be exact. They don't judge me. I am accepted. I am tattooed from neck to ankles and have a bit of a past with drug and alcohol addiction. Been clean since 1995. Its about whats in your heart, not whats on the outside.
true
AMEN I wish all churches were like that. I wonder if they would have turned Jesus away in some of these churches . He wore sandals and long hair.
Shirley D I want to stroll over heaven with you
Dean Stephens it would be nice if that were the rule NOT the EXCEPTION
