  • It is about time that I updated the Geometry Nodes beginner tutorial for 3.0. If this is your first time using geometry nodes, I am certain that you will be able to get through these tutorials. If you run into issues please don't hesitate to leave a comment.
    On another note. if you are wondering why my blender might look slightly different, I use a paid version called E-Cycles. It renders faster than vanilla blender and has some other features, however, this will not affect the tutorial.

    Someone may have already mentioned it...but to manually resize the node frame, select it and in the Sidebar (N panel) > Node tab > Properties dropdown... "Uncheck Shrink" then you can grab the edges of the frame and resize it.

    This was very good. Is there a chance you could record this in higher than1080p resolution? I kept comparing my node tree to yours and at times it was a bit difficult to read off the screen. I'm looking forward to the next one. Thx.

    lovely series, except, as someone already pointed out, video resolution is a bit muddy. i do my videos in, duh, THE blender, using recommended settings for youTube - mp4 container, h.264 codec, mp3 audio, the rest mas o menos default. thx for sharing, have fun, aum, s love nia

    Sorry to go off course.. I need to decide between A laptop with Nvidia Quadro p600 and Nvidia Geoforce gtx 1650,,, both are 4GB VRAM.
    One is workstation and the other gaming Pc.
    Which one should I go for?

      I think at that level for Blender you are probably better off with the 1650. I could be wrong but the quadros are normally not as cost-efficient for Blender so gaming cards are the better choice

    I don't get understand why you're trying to use the Random Value node with location instead of just using it by itself?

    • @LuminousLabs
      @LuminousLabs  Год назад

      The reason I was doing that, is because that random value was being applied to every building. So if you dropped in the random value and it generated "13" every building would have 13 levels. This is something that was perhaps a bug? Before 3.0 it was easy to generate a random seed but I think when it had swapped it was not as simple.

      @@LuminousLabs AH ok gothca, did you find a solution to the problem?

    • @LuminousLabs
      @LuminousLabs  Год назад

      @@Kalyptic I may have to revisit it. I use this geometry nodes set up a lot but I never do it with random levels. I can try it out and see if I can get it working though

    Better show how to import DWG files.

      I do actually have a workflow for that. I am not a CAD expert so I am not sure about all of the names, but you do lose some information. The lines themselves come in (.DXF format) but numbers and labels don't come in.
