Though there were Orcs and foul beasts that might roam the land, there was one creature that people feared even more… undead monsters, immune to our mortal blades, yet whose blades in turn would slay any they would meet. They were the most terrible servants of the Dark Lord, his most feared generals and his most trusted spies. But even among the Nine, there was their leader, who would be known by the name of his realm, which destroyed the Northern Kingdom of Arnor: the Witch-king of Angmar.

The Witch King never got the Palantir that was in Amon Sûl when he attacked and seized it. I wonder if he ever knew it was there?🤔

The nature of the Nazgul is confusing.🤨
In that scene at the Gate, the Witch King was invisible, as was stated in the video. Most people who don't know Tolkien would assume that it was the ghost of a sorcerer who had died while wearing one of the Rings of Power.
The problem with that is we know that Men have hröar that die and fëar that exist after death, but must go to Mandos and then eventually to a secret place set aside by Eru Iluvatar himself. This is called a "Gift" by Eru, which cannot be denied.
So a Maia like Sauron can never have the power to overrule that, so the only way that Nazgul can be invisible is if part of the spell on them is invisibility, meaning their hröar are intact but not visible to the eyes of any people.
But we have the drowning of the Nazgul at the Ford of Bruinen. So did they all drown? I don't think they could have, based on what I said before. So their naked, invisible bodies had make their way back to Mordor. But hold on a second!!! Why don't they remain naked and in "ghost" form? Or a couple of them remain naked and when they sense the Ring, the ones on horses could ride off and the invisible ones can snag the Sting and kill the Hobbits and take the Ring. Game over.
So the Nazgul must need "raiment" to activate a strong physical form.🙄 Great...
So what are your theories about the Nature of the Nazgul?

      @MysteriesOfWesternesse  9 месяцев назад +1

The "drowning" of the Nazgûl at Bruinen is only partially true: their steeds (which were still mostly normal horses) drowned, though the Nazgûl themselves were fine, aside from being swept away in the water (thus, "drowning" in the figurative sense).
As for the whole deal with his body, we explained that a bit more in this video: ruclips.net/video/mxYzNWnDpPo/видео.html
It mainly has to do with the effect the Rings of Power have on the hroär of their wearers, and with the Realm of Shadows.

Thanks for the response and the link.
So we're the almost drowned Nazgul visible without their hoods?

They were invisible without their hoods, though their auras of terror and dread were very clear for mortal beings to feel

Who do you guys think the Witch King could be and what proof do you have that it is possible?

“The world has tried to forget my existence. Now it is time to remind them *why* they fear.”
-The Witch King before returning to the fold.
“All I am surrounded by is fear and dead men.”
-Witch King whenever surrounded or outnumbered.
I am genuinely convinced the Witch King is the Tolkien equivalent of Darth Vader mixed with the voice of the Iron Revenant from League of Legends. He’s and unstoppable force clad in dark armor, a “bright bladed” weapon, and little indication that there is or ever was a man beneath the 7 feet of wrath and death for Vader. And a being that was once a man whose body has long since been shed for something more powerful and badass conquerors voice for the Iron Revenant.
