@@MCMcommunications There have been several movie and TV adaptations, Jeremy’s probably referencing one of those. Fun fact, the original book Around the World in Eighty Days doesn’t feature a hot air balloon at all! All the screen adaptations just seem intent on adding one.

I remember watching series 1-12 of TM UK on YT before it was all officially uploaded. They knew that people were going to re-upload it and they couldn't really stop it, so they started doing it themselves. I'm happy to see it, except when they try to baby us by removing a whole task because they felt like it aged poorly (The prize task was literally to bring in the thing that aged the most poorly)
@@potatosordfighter666 I don't think that's about babying us, that's about not wanting to lose monetization, which is totally reasonable. As you say, they can protect themselves, knowing those who really want to see the task will be able to go find one of the re-uploads.

TM NZ still has third party uploads, but there are no uploads of full British taskmaster episodes on any channels except the original anymore. They've all been DMCAd away. The same might happen with TM NZ. Monetisation is not the goal of this channel, the goal of this channel is so that they are the source of the media that they own. Monetisation is a secondary goal, most of the money the show makes is from the TV ads that play when then show is on TV. For all intents and purposes, they already got all the value from the episode they thought they could, and YT is just a small secondary market. 2 Cosby jokes would not have demonitised them.
If the first episode of this series didn't hook you, please give it just 1 more. Even just at episode 2 this series descends into insanity (which you can get a good taste of from the preview), and this series is legit one of the best of all time.
What makes TMNZ truly work is the same insane quality editing. At 11:01 when Guy mocks Paul, soffing "embarassing" then it cuts to him hitting himself with ana orange. I am currently dying.
I love this cast so much! David’s insanity, Guy trolling Paul, Laura’s competitive earnestness, Matt doing his best, and Urzila turning on Paul every chance she gets. And the studio bickering is top-tier! Can’t wait for more people to experience this season 😂
I know David C is the fan favorite, but I'm so glad to have discovered Guy Montgomery from this show. Truly hilarious comedian. Any Guy Mont Spelling Bee fans out there?
I love Guy's Paul shirts; hope that there are more throughout the season. David, Guy & Laura are a lot of fun to watch so far. Thought Matt would be the normal one but between the pool noodles & waterboarding Paul, he's just as crazy as everyone else!

Taskmaster NZ series 1 was closest we can get to the feel of the UK shows. Series 2 comes in with tighter editing, music inserts that are spot on, and camera angles pretty much like the original. NZ has become its own monster, and we the audience are all for it.

It seems like the new Zealand comedy scene is really tight. Like they're all basically just swapping around roles and being on each other's shows. The British scene sort of seems that way too to me, but the NZ scene just seems so much smaller. Idk though, that's just the vibe I get.
As someone who listened to Worst Idea of All Time starting in season 2, it's absolutely wild to see Guy on Taskmaster. He was everything I ever wanted! I was so nervous I wouldn't like his performance but instead he blew me away and made me love him even more!
The cast this season are masters at banter. Even replaying it as much as I have, it doesn’t get any less impressive. Like when Jeremy says he has low expectations for Matt because he knows him, and Matt’s retort is that he doesn’t respect Jeremy’s opinion. Such great timing and choice of words
I love how David putting multiple photos up of himself almost naked for the prize task, 2 people jumping into a sewage pond, and Guy literally flying through the air is this series starting off "slowly." But it's also true

I'm already loving Laura so much. Just like Brynley in season 1, there are just the subtle dorky things which are just cracking me up. The slow pull back into the caravan, looking out the window as the caravan was moving, the little hop out at the task intro.
Guy Montgomery continuing to pop up in the most unexpected and delightful places. The first time I saw this season I couldn’t place his voice, but KNEW I had heard it before; it turned out he’s one of the hosts of the Till Death Do Us Blart annual podcast.

It's time for the world to discover what is arguably one of the best Taskmaster series of all versions (I rank it number 2, just a little below the glorious UK S7) with one of the best casts ever and the ultimate three-person team. I've already watched this series, but I most certainly will binge on it again. Thank yoooouuu, TM team !
Definitely one of the best seasons of any Taskmaster series from any version all over the world. I say this having seen every episode of every season of every TM except for the USA one that I couldn't make it past the second episode.
The Taskmaster season we’ve all been waiting for!!! I remember watching the whole thing when it came out episode by episode some lovely soul had on RUclips for like a week or 2 and this might be my fave season like ever. The iconic rap; Urzila’s high school days in South Africa, Abraham Lincoln’s ghost. I love it ❤❤❤
David freaking out when winning or losing is awesome. Every game player ought to celebrate their victories and mourn their losses with that same intensity. It no doubt makes playing against him so much more fun and it's great to watch!

Taskmaster NZ season 2 is an absolute masterpiece. The contestants are amazing and so are the tasks. I’ve laughed every time I’ve watched. Please give this season the chance it deserves
This was a much stronger season than the first one. The TM and his assistant both seem more comfortable in their roles, and the guests seem more sure of what the show is about and less unsure of themselves. Better audience reactions as well.
