Federal Signal Modulator Siren Beverly Hills Demonstration

The city of Beverly Hills will be installing an outdoor warning siren system to add another layer of public notification incase of danger. Federal Signal demonstrated some of the capabilities of their Modulator electronic siren which is capable of both voice and tone. It was fun to watch and I had some good conversations with some city officials and Federal Signal workers.

Glad to see that they're updating the Los Angeles alert system. I'm sure people were confused upon hearing the alerts and wonder if anyone would even react to them. But I suppose, at least with a FS modulator, they can give the people some information about the warning as its happening.

They probably wouldn't have installed the siren on a pole since it was just for a demo to show to the city of Beverly Hills how a Modulator would do in their area. However if it convinced them they'll start apperaing all around on their poles

Sirens cannot be used for earthquakes. The first thing anybody knows about them taking place, is the shaking starts. You could be sitting on the toilet taking your morning shit, and then the whole room starts shaking. You get scared, that causes Mr. Turd to shoot out, and into the toilet. Then you forgot to put the toilet paper onto the holder, and it goes across the room, leaving you stuck there. This is what happened to me in 2011 in the big east coast earthquake. The toilet paper got shook off its unstable perch, and ended up in an area I couldn’t reach from the toilet.

@T45N Beverly Hills won’t be installing 2001’s they want voice capability sirens so probably they’ll either get Modulators or Whelens and to be honest I’m really hoping they go with Federal MODS
