What a difference in the manner that Sjors and Waloubet walk and trot compared to the Friesian Horses. The Friesians look so elegant and regal. I discovered this channel when Rising Star was adopted by Uniek. I love 💘 these videos!

What a wonderful video. What a great teamwork lesson at Stal G. It is so nice to see horsemanship being taught and learned by humans and horses both. I really enjoyed this. Reintje and Ginny are exceptionally beautiful in this video. Elianne did a super job with Sjors.

Reintje is coming along nicely with her dressage training. You are so right Yvonne to encourage Elianne to stay on her horse instead of bailing. It's so easy to lose your confidence if you give in to the horse's scary antics and let them stop working.

The most difficult thing about riding is to not be afraid when you are afraid. If you don't stay on, you may not ride again. The floor looks much further away the next time you ride. Very good group of support!

Sjors wants to be in charge of everything so does he dislike being submissive by being ridden? Why would Sjors get mad if Yvonne left the arena?

Sjors wanted some more rein. You can see he's head up a little more then comfortable and the reins quite tight because the rider was tense. He had been subtly telling her he wanted more room and less pressure that didn't make sense, he got fed up when he popped the small rear and spin (You can really see the mouth pull open then too.) People in this comment section keep saying he was 'naughty' and 'silly' but it's more he asked to quite being ignored and decided to take an action that he thought might make the difference. It did the opposite though as she only got tenser. ;) Horses don't need to be 'submissive' to the rider, that's not what working with horses is about. It'd be a pain in the bum if it was.
The Waloubet thing, is because she is a very strong, dominant mare (She has a lot of presence) and can rub the horses the wrong way because she would change the dynamics up quite a lot. ;)

Sjors reminds me of the gelding I rode for years when I was younger - he was a retired lesson horse, and had long ago realized that he could get his way if he just bullied his rider into giving up. When I got him he hadn't been ridden in over a year because no one wanted to get on him. Rein and Yvonne did the right thing with Elianne! She just needs to grow comfortable and work with Sjors in saddle and on the ground so he can't be so bossy. He will learn, and Elianne did great! Everyone looked great!!

Well done staying on, Elianne! One can get a bit anxious when horses decide they want to take charge, over something as silly as another horse leaving the arena, but she handled it well! And Reintje is a beautiful lady as always, calm even when Sjors turned around. It was sweet to see you, Yvonne and Rein, offer support for Elianne.

Hi Elianne, great that you persisted and did not dismount when Sjors started to play up. I had to keep going one time and after that riding was a lot easier. Also belated happy birthday!

This is kind of funny in a way as MY birthday was on Dec. 10 and I am watching this on Dec. 12. I turned 65. I am now officially 65 - which is old enough for Social Security (old age health care - kind of) in the United States. It is interesting to watch the Friesians vs. Sjors and Waloubet. Do you ever let the horses gallop full speed when you are riding them?

This was a great video to watch. So interesting to see the herd mentality, Sjors is definitely spicy 🌶 even though he is a pake! Elianne did a nice job of retaining control. And Rein Jr is doing well, too! Happy birthday Elianne!

It's such a pleasure to watch Yvonne so beautifully sit a horse - she's especially wonderful with Reintje. Always amazed at how quiet she keeps her legs and feet. I don't believe I have seen anyone ride better than she does.

With Waloubet and Sjors, you can really see the difference between the gaits of Fresians and non Fresians, that was really interesting. You and Rein offered great support when Sjors acted silly. Glad Elianne stayed on, she did a good job staying in charge
I was going to type same thing it's a wonderful opportunity to compare. Funny ol'sjors getting all silly, loves his ladies and can't be apart ! And Elianne did well, it can be unsettling, but she taught sjors and herself that she is incharge.
He wasn't acting silly, he was telling her to give him more rein. She was really tense and he was unfortunately getting a little fed up with the strain on his mouth. ;)
But don't judge the non friesians too harshly. They are being ridden by amateurs. But yes, the frisians are very flashy.

I love that Rein and Yvonne give the younger folks guidance and reassurance and let them try things on their own. Very generous.
Both of them, but especially Yvonne, are gifted teachers. They know how to step back and allow the student to have the experience. I’ve noticed this with both people and horses. I think that Rein and Yvonne both have an innate temperament that is very calm and generous, both great traits in great teachers.

I love how calm everyone is. Even with all the little hiccups and jumps that come with riding horses, the energy is so calm. I'm glad Elianne stayed on and got her confidence back.

It was really delightful watching the whole group working in the arena, seeing the very calm and kind manner used to teach Rein to drive a young horse, and the over all fun everyone was having. Nothing makes a person smile like spending time with a good horse❤️💚❤️
