You mamas that post how you organize Abeka are a godsend! This will be our 3rd year with Abeka and I still haven’t figured out a way to keep myself organized (I am a very disorganized adhd mom lol) but this year, that’s changing!

You are super sweet 💕 So we have branched out on curriculum. We are using multiple curriculums these days. But I do have playlists for 1st, 2nd, and 6th that is strictly Abeka. I have 3rd and 7th with multiple curriculums if you want to check them out. 😉

I have decided to thermal bind each week of work. Are you able to give me a rough estimate to how many pages are in the weeks worth?
Tests, speed drills, art projects, video manual/teachers manual, and reading books will not be included.

have you done the parent lead set before? That is what I have and I feel like it's a little confusing on how to organize.
Hi @carebear B. No, I’m sorry. We’ve only used the video led through Abeka. This year is going to be the 1st year I used parent led, and it is only for their Bible. I wish I could help.
i know your video is a year old. but i just got my order. im super confused on the spelling and poetry book. can you explain to me how to use it please. is it part of another book or do i just add it in to my day as the lesson numbers come up.. thanks for this video i wouldnt have realized that some are split up like the writing with phonics or the spelling and poetry. i would have just started on page one and worked my way to the back to the book.
Hi Alexa. They do not belong with another book. Just use them on the specific lesson number. You will find which lesson to use in the daily guide portion of the video manual. That manual will also tell you which poem they will be working on. 😉
Nice video but a bit overwhelming. I am first time homeschooler and feeling anxiety already. Do we have to do this to work it out with abeka? I am planning to use it but confuse now.
Hey Sara! Welcome to homeschooling. You do not have to organize in this way at all. You can always keep them in their books the way the came. Anything that keeps you calm and comfortable is the way you should homeschool. 💖

What do you do for weeks that have holidays?
We usually stick to the counties school schedule, just because we have cousins that are in public school. So it makes vacations and play dates easier. But, we typically just take them off. You just want to check your state laws on how many days to school per year. 👍
I mean when you are organizing by weeks. What if you have one day off for a holiday? Does it mess up the crate folders?
Lol. Oops. Sorry. Yes, you will be off by that day. But you just keep on going to the next lesson. I always hated being off so we usually just doubled up until we were caught up. But luckily most holidays or days off fall on Monday or Friday. For the long holidays we would finish out the week, and start fresh the next when starting back. I hope this makes sense. 😬
Me again, sorry. I don't know if you explained it in the video. If yes, sorry i missed, it but why are you keeping the tests separate?
Hey again. 😁 I was separating them because we were accredited at the time and it was easier to fill out the progress reports. I wasn’t having to dig through each week. If you don’t want separate folders you can always fill out the progress reports as you grade also. 😉👍
Thos seems like a ton of work! Why don’t you just use the books? This is seems like so much work! And could you imagine the headache if the crate with the hanging folders ever fell over?! That would be a disaster!!!
Hi C P. I’m not going to lie, it took some time. But, it was nice to have everyday ready for the whole school year. Just grab and go!
And YES! That would be a complete disaster. I would definitely shed some tears if the crate fell over. Lucky for us, it hasn’t! 😬😉

Is there a reason you choose to rip them out instead of buying the unbound version?
@kayla Perry No reason. I actually didn’t know they had them unbound. So save yourself a headache and get them unbound. 😬
Okay lol when you go to add it to the cart it gives you the option this is the first year we are using Abeka so it may be a new option. This video was super helpful though.

The Music is overwhelming LOUD!
Especially when I'm trying to watch it with a sleeping husband & baby beside me! 🤦♀️ It's so frustrating to have to keep turning the volume down, because the music is Blaring, & then back up so that I can hear what you're saying/ trying to teaching us!
Hi Cowboy Fan. I’m sorry that the music is loud. I made this video 2 years ago when I first started creating content to help other homeschooling moms with things I’ve learned along the way. You may be able to find another video from someone else that is easier to watch.

I did realize, however, AFTER I sent it, that maybe this was an older video.. like, maybe one of your first ones & I'm sure I'd have a hard time figuring the whole thing out!!!
Anyways, we're struggling over here as I'm finding my child isn't motivated at all sometimes to the point that occasionally we still haven't finished the 1st subject & it's time for me to start dinner!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.. that's why I'm here : ) looking for just the right video. FYI: she's in 1st, but can do 2nd - 3rd Grade in most things, although her reading is our Major issue currently! With a newborn, it's difficult to have to stop & read every single thing to her 😔🙆♀️

How do you keep the folders in the crate??

Hi Thanda. I am so sorry, but my daughter has already used them. There are Facebook groups that sell and giveaway homeschool material. Maybe you can find it on there. I would try searching for “used homeschool curriculum”.
