    This is my first year homeschooling my two boys, doing the accredited curriculum, and was completely lost with how to do lessons and use the books accordingly. Since watching your video I feel a bit more prepared to start tomorrow. Thanks a million!! 👏

      Hi Krystable Brown. I am so happy to hear it has helped you! I know exactly how you were feeling. Don’t worry, you can do it! Just remember to breathe, and take a moment when needed. If you’re looking for tips I just posted a video for homeschooling parents. Also I will be posting a video on keeping your kiddos engaged. I have a lot of new content coming. I hope you find more of my content helpful! 😉 Have a wonderful first day. 📚💖

    Thanks for the walkthrough. I ordered 1. Grade Abeka Academy but the manuals won't be available until the start date. I was worried I'd be completely unprepared.

      Hey Anna. Don’t worry. If you are planning on organizing their work you can always do it over a weekend after you start. Also, you can always push your start date by a week if you wanted. You are the rule maker. Just try not to start stressing, you will be ok. Just make sure when you do get it, read through it. It will explain literally, everything. It was my best friend when I first started. You got this. If you ever need anything you can always ask. I’m not sure if I will know the answer, but I can try. ☺️

    Thank you for making these Abeka videos! You are helping me out so much! This book looks complicated lol... question, why do you rip this book apart? I saw the video, but I’m still not sure what the benefit is besides having pages in protectors.

    • @simplyhomeschool18
      @simplyhomeschool18  4 года назад

      Hi Candylicious 1986. I am so happy they are helping you! I rip them apart and put them in Binders because I like to have my Daily Lessons in one binder and the Teacher Keys in another. You definitely do not have to put them in protectors. I like to be extra sometimes. Lol. But they have 3 holes in them so you can always just put them in a binder without. But if you are good with all your teacher materials together, I’d just keep them in the booklet. ☺️
      And the manual is actually really easy to navigate through. It just looks overwhelming. 😬 After the first week, you’ll be good.

    New sub here! We are new homeschoolers, started Feb 2020. We use Masterbooks for math only. Ready to purchase Abeka now! Which subjects do you find are best with Abeka? Thank you so much

      @simplyhomeschool18  3 года назад

      Hi Kristie! Welcome to our RUclips family ❤️ Honestly, Abeka has a great curriculum. It is super structured. All subjects are great. It really just depends on your child’s learning preference. We started with all Abeka our 1st year of homeschooling and wouldn’t change it for anything. It gave my daughter such a great foundation to grow from. This year we are using Abeka for everything except Science, History, and Math. But, there is nothing wrong with Abeka in those subjects, it was just for change and preference on how my daughter wanted to be taught. I hope that makes sense.
      I do have a playlist on our 1st grade choices and flip throughs, if you want to check out all the books. ruclips.net/p/PLlc1Rn0q5V9o-xuruugeb9vdvMSB2Mkak

    Question! I just came across someone who has the older version dvds and manual for 1st grade. If I were to get them, do you think they would still be helpful with the updated versions? I just placed my first order with abeka last night, and I'm doing parent-led. Thanks!

    • @simplyhomeschool18
      @simplyhomeschool18  4 года назад

      smile42003 honestly, I’m not sure. I have only seen the revised version. But I’m thinking that they probably kept their lessons close to the same. If it’s free, I would snag them. 🤗 it won’t hurt. You could always do a side by side of them. 👍

      @@simplyhomeschool18 I wish it was free! lol That's why I'm trying to decide if it's worth the money she's asking. She also has k4, which I'm also doing. But since I just placed my full order with abeka last night for both grades, I want to find out what I can about it before spending even more money. If it would work, I like the option of having videos available. :)

    Hi! So each day we work on a number like the one you presented? ( 71 for example)

    • @simplyhomeschool18
      @simplyhomeschool18  4 года назад +1

      Hi Loredana Lupei. Yes, each day you will have a Lesson # to work through. There are a total of 170 lessons in a school year, so that breaks down to 170 days of school. For each lesson you will have Bible, reading, phonics & language, writing, arithmetic. Your kids will have art once a week and than Science for 3 days a week for 10 weeks and the same for history and health.

      @@simplyhomeschool18 the reason I ask is because I bought all the books off eBay and it came with the video manual, not the language arts lesson plan . This is my first time homeschooling so I just want to make sure we are still good to go and I did not need the language arts 1 lesson plan lol

    • @simplyhomeschool18

      So, with the video manual it will not tell you all of the instructions as the teacher, because the video teacher explains everything to the student in the dvds. You may want to purchase the Homeschool Lesson Plan Books. Did you purchase all of the books and teacher keys?
