    It’s first time Abeka homeschooling in my life with my 3rd grade. I was super nervous. English is my 3rd language, I was really worried about it. Your video helped me so much, I feel relief. This Monday (8/24/20) was our first day of school. I feel Abeka is higher level than I thought. I feel like we need to do a lot of works. It’s 4th day today but we only finished 2days one. I did school starts at 9:30am but I feel like we need to start an hour earlier. Thank you so much Marian, I’ve learned so much from you. So helpful! 👍🤩🌟

    I liked the words from the song they sang in bible to keep me and my child motivated and from getting overwhelmed with homeschooling:
    Little by little
    Inch by inch
    By the yard it's hard,
    By the inch what a cinch,
    Never stare up the stairs
    Just step up the steps
    Little by little, inch by inch

    Thank you so much! You answered almost all of my questions. This will be our first year if we decide to do it. The big decision will be made tomorrow when I have a meeting with her school but I feel confident after watching your video that this is the right decision. Thank you again! The decision to homeschool is a really hard decision to make.

    You are incredibly helpful! I jumped in and we just finished week 1 of Abeka Grade 2. We are supplementing with another curriculum for hands on activities that we can do with both kids. Thus, I haven’t had her do a lot of the extra seat work other than the worksheets and reading, reading, reading! We aren’t doing accredited but we are doing the DVDs. I have one doing Abeka 2 and a pre-k 5 year old who is doing a mix free curriculums and reading as much as possible as she isn’t school aged. She does watch the Bible , pledge and songs with her sister and then they part ways! Like you, one child needs a lot of attention to stay focused and one is easily focused (my oldest needs me the most to stay on task). After seeing your channel, I am feeling pretty good about how we have started so far! Thanks for sharing your perspective!

      Just take it one day at a time! You can do it. You can always switch things up in organization...make it better as you go. The first year we ever started with Abeka we all got the FLU...I was in bed for 3 weeks! The second year we started Abeka we were going through the loss of our home due to volcanic eruption! But we still did it alright. It might be tough at the beginning...but stick to it, take breaks, skip some things...make it work for you. You can do it! God bless!

    On the cursive switch at 2 or 3rd grade, we started using a cursive app, there are a few on iTunes App Store, that are really colorful and my dd didn’t even realize we were getting ready for school, LOL, she loved it. The one we like is LetterSchool but there are other free ones you can download for practice and getting ready for cursive transition from manuscript.

We wanted our kids to learn their native language first. Do you think Abeka program would be a good fit? Thank you and have blessed day!

      I think Abeka could work for you. To be sure your kid rally gets it. It might help to start with K4 then K5 next year... because they repeat a lot of things every year and your child will have more time to pick up english language.

      Hi Sweetheart Babies. Yes, you will receive a HS diploma if you enroll in the accredited video program at least in the beginning of senior year. My niece finished 12th grade in May 2020. Although graduation was cancelled due to Covid-19, the school had a virtual graduation and she received her graduation regalia and diploma in the mail. Hope you enjoy the curriculum! Take care 🙂

    What about children with learning disabilities such as speech delayed , academically behind and has ADHD ? Will they fairly grade them ? Will they unfairly grade their call in for reading because they can’t understand them as they are speech delayed ? I’m scared to enroll them and the school not consider their disabilities and unfairly give them poor grades .

    Hi Marina. I love your videos and I decide to start abeka. Now I tried to contact abeka but they didn’t answer do to the hurricane. My son is in a second grade but as you said just get a grade under if the kids are in a public school but I notice that in the abeka agreement said that kids 7-8 have to be in second grade my son is 8 year old but I want to get him the first grade do you think that if I get the first grade there will be a problem?
    I ask you because you have more experience than me .

    • @KeikiPlayTime
      @KeikiPlayTime  4 года назад +1

      Hi, I am still very much learning about Abeka too... every year there seem to be something new I learn.
      But basically when I was talking about going a grade lower I meant to do it unaccredited or if your child is in that age range. I have two friends who went grade lower with no problem. But If you are accredited there are generally a lot of rules you need to follow... Sorry for the confusion. So if your son is already out of that age group the only way I see you can do it is do it without accreditation.
      Now, if he does 1st grade quickly (may be 6 months), he may still be able to get back in to 2nd grade and be accredited again... these are just my thoughts

    Thank you so much , you have answered most of my questions. God bless you . For first graders you mentioned that maybe schooling can take about 2 and half hours if l am not mistaken . Does this include weekends or you break on weekends also is this for 9 months or 12 months ? In addition if it becomes 12 months does this mean the hours are further reduced ? I really want to know this time thing as l am a full time working mum but want to try my best to be present in her learning journey

    • @KeikiPlayTime
      @KeikiPlayTime  4 года назад +1

      cici first grade I would say takes about 3 hours. If you do school 5 days a week (one full lesson per day) than you will finish in 9 months. To finish in 12 months you would be able to go more at your own pace, skip some days, may be do 4-3 days per week... or your could have the child do one lesson over two days. I am not sure, we haven’t tried it. If your child knows how to read and is somewhat independent it will help a lot as they can do most of their school on their own just following teachers instructions. And if you something like what I did with the work papers (organize them in one binder) it will even eliminate the work you have to do every day in giving her all the papers fir that day. Hope this made sense 😊
