idk if this will be helpful to you but my therapist noticed me calling myself over sensitive all the time. She said someone must've called me sensitive one too many times and now I view myself that way and blame myself for getting annoyed at people and the world. She said I'm not over sensitive, I'm normal. I had a hard time believing her. But it kinda changed my thinking when she pointed that out.
i really like the tip about choosing to be amused instead of irritated, but that’s hard to do when the irritating behavior is affecting your wellbeing. i’m watching this video because i’ve been so constantly irritated by my roommate the last couple months. she wakes me up before my alarm, she loses everything then asks me to keep an eye out for it, she leaves random things around in common space, and she’s even locked me out a couple times just being absentminded, forcing me to go out of my way to get an emergency key. Irritating. how can i choose to be amused when the irritating behavior (which i don’t think she can or will change all of it) affects me so personally? there’s nothing amusing about not getting enough sleep or having to clean up behind her if i don’t want the apartment to be a mess.
I usually get frustrated and angry when people force their ideas on me without me acting back, like saying that i lied when im trying to talk, most of the time they dont try to listen to me and like to end the convo by saying that i lied.

I have what’s called Quiet Borderline Personality Disorder. It’s very difficult for me to handle and regulate my emotions. I’m getting better as I mature more, yet I still feel like everyone is out to hurt me or they hate me. It’s gotten to the point where I’ve been a toxic partner and now I’m watching videos such as this.
I have depression and anxiety (especially social) and anger issues and I hate how much I get irritated and mad.. But like I can't stop.. A few situations and pet peevess I struggle to deal with everyday are ↓↓↓ - I get mad and irritated when I have to repeat myself more than once - I get mad and sad when I'm not the center of attention, but I'm too scared to make myself the center of attention first - I get mad when my friend wants to go hang out with someone else because they're my only friend - I get irritated when other people are in a bad mood around me - if someone start arguing with me even if it's a joke, it gets me so upset, my face literally turned red - I get mad when my friend hangs out with someone I don't like or with someone that I'm having drama with - I get mad if someone's playing something really loud there's a lot more than just this, but please help, I don't know if I'm just a toxic person, or what? But I want to change it about myself because I hate it.. My brain tells me not to get upset by stuff and just be chill, but my heart tells me to get mad and get irritated and I just listen to my instant emotions

Literally watching this while siblings are invading my room and my other sibling is typing loudly and incessantly but the only reason I feel irritated is because of my terribly persuasive brain!!!!! This is really helpful by the way...
i haven’t really told anyone this but i get irritated easily and it ruins my mental health. i feel so bad for getting mad at my friends when they do nothing. like one of my best friends can just say some thing and i can get irritated. i’ve been trying to change the way i feel about it but i honestly don’t know how. i was never like this before so i don’t know why i’m like this now. like, say i say something and then she gives her opinion on it even though i didn’t ask for her opinion that disagrees with mine or something, i’d get mad for some reason. i don’t want this to keep happening. it bothers me SO SO SO much. any tips?

Man. You are such a great soul. Its just incredible. So compassionate, and loving, and genuine. I meeeeean. Incredible. You need to be teaching kids these technichs. This needs to be in schools. The younger you start them the better. Like. Ive listened to your stuff so much, and on and off for a year now. But still. I dont have it rooted so i veeeery often go back to my ways. Cuz they are more rooted than better ways. Thats why i think these technics should be in schools. To help humans grow up better. For themselves and their surrounding. You are a freaking angel. I mean it with my whole being. Thank you!
Jelena Jankovic, honored to be on your team, and I agree, we need to teach these principles so our kids have the education they need to succeed in their most important job, life.
@@LiveOnPurposeTV I gotta tell you. I've seen quite a bit of your videos, and have written them down, and tried to practice your methods. And i apsolutelly support you, but 95% of the time im handling myself or my daughter i still go back to same ways i grew up in, or i do autimatically when upset and the moment is high stress. I wish and i try to do it other ways. But, when its so high intensity i just crack and go back. Thats why i say, its best if you would to influence better the younger generations. In daycares, in schools. Maybe also parents but thru daycares, and schools. Ill keep trying my best to get into a better shape. But, i gotta tell you. Im going to have to crush all the buildings and countries of made up action ive been doing all along to get there. Thanks again! Youre amazing.
I hate being so irritable because I’m the anger, it feels best to hit or throw something. I hate that feeling so much, and I just want it to stop. I hope this will help
Thanks for creating this video. I have been feeling irritated by everyone lately and it could be physiological or just perception. I will try your suggestion of turning the irritating thing into something positive. I will be hopeful and try that method. Thanks and I feel better about myself knowing that if someone is already irritated and provides an irritated response, then we of course we will feel that way too so that brings relief to me and doesn't make me seem like I'm crazy.
Thanks a lot. I got really angry today, and I took all my anger out on my family. I feel bad now. I'm trying to change, I hope I can make it. It's always like this.
For me its my family that I feel irritated by and I really dont know how to Deal with it. I have 2 older siblings and one younger and everyday I fight with at least one of them, mostly because of the same reason: they are often so disrespectful. They shout at my parents and I really try to ignore it but I just cant. When e.g. my sister screams at my mom my mom just stays quite to not let the situation escalate. But I really cant watch/hear it without getting really angry and starting to yell at them. And at the end I am the bad one because I "didnt have to interfere". When ever I think about those situations or even witness them I explode. I'm aggressive 24/7 and now whenever something happens its my fault because I'm just too aggressive.I cant open up about it to anyone because I'm ashamed of my anger issues. Ich be really thankful for advides. Side note: 1:17 "you still have a choice whether to be irritated or not" even though this sounds so simple I really never realised thats an option. But I just cant do it when I see someone screaming at others.
qui, can you leave the room or the house for a few minutes while your mother handles the situation with your sibling by ignoring? Is your behavior anything like the behavior that you deem to be disrespectful? Could you do something other than yelling? Maybe write a note expressing how you feel, or a story with the scenario, but a different outcome? How about some noise cancelling headphones so you don't have to be a party to the situation? Talk to your parents about getting some help with the anger.
I keep having low energy and tension, because of things and the surrounding that I can't change yet. I think in solutions, most of the time and speak it out. And I'm clear in my words, so maybe it's the presentation to get through to some people. I try to clear everything out that irritates me. But covid forced some living situations on me. I also excercise quit intense, and eat a bit of vegetables, fruits and meat. Nothing else. Balance is indeed important too, but I do stuff when it comes to mind, same with eating and sleeping. So when I don't think about it, I don't do it. I need to make a sleep schedule, I did. Hours up in bed. Ain't helping, the disappointments ain't helping. But it's like coding, keep working on it till your code works. But great video, I heard it loud and clear. Thank you.
I get irritated when someone i don't really know talks or try to joke around with me. If i don't know u everything u say is gonna be taken seriously. It sucks bcs most of the time they are just trying to be ur friend then i end up feeling like an asshole right after. I guess im just not comfortable opening up to people right away. But once i get to know people a bit more or spend time around them thats when i slowly let my guard down and start being friendly.

my sister is always being irritating and annoying. she’s always hitting me and I don’t know how to explain it but I just have the urge to pick something up and throw it at her. when she hits me my mom does nothing but when I throw something at her my mom would lecture me about how she’s my older sister and I shouldn’t do that this just annoys me so much -.- ugh why am I wasting my time typing this no one understands.
This video is based on pseu·do·sci·ence. Some people are just annoying. If every human being annoyed you I would agree the problem is your own thinking, but if it is just one person the chances are they are annoying and forcing yourself to like people you don't is literally going to lead to toxic relationships and bad situations

Guess I’m gonna send this to my mum because lately she’s been so annoying. I’ve been working for a week now and I come back late at home around 18. She’s been annoying me so much and she’s the reason why everything is going down in my life. She’s making me feel stressed
I was playing a game with my friends and got shot from behind while my friend was starring at the enemy. Although he should have covered me, I exploded and got upset. I was filled with embarrassment for getting that upset at my friend for something like a game.
Zander Hansen, give yourself a break next time. I can see how you would get into the game, but it isn't o.k. to yell at your friend. By giving ourselves breaks, we can get some thinking time in.
My partner gets irritated and frustrated so easy and does not hide his frustration on me. Even though I did not do anything wrong, as he puts his frustration on me, I get to pick up on the negative energy and blame myself for his frustration. That further affects my self confidence and I am so uncomfortable. I wish he could change but I know hoping someone would change is the dumbest thing…
I get so irritated or get angry easily to the point that when i accidentally push a chair my older brother would tell me "Stop getting mad" hes so irritating 🙄
You know, being irritated most of the time can probably be a sign of depression. Idk why but it's in the research. My Mother always gets mad when I'm being irritated but she never knew what I truly feel, after being bullied at school back then, she never knew and when I became so irritated when she keeps asking questions she just slaps me and hurts me all the time
I have this huge buildup of anger and Hate everytime I get inconvenienced or irritated I blow up in Anger. Start imagining me killing that person and enjoying it I start fantasizing about it I don't know what these thoughts couldn't mean but I tried to not allow them to take ahold of my actions
Tony Martinez, I am glad you are controlling your thoughts. Imagine you doing something else instead of blowing up in anger when something inconvenienced happens to you.
Jeremy Garcia, there is a lot going on right now that cause us to be irritable, especially when everything we are used to doing is being put on hold. We can find peace during difficult times.
I get irritated and reply very rude to my family members ,,and after a while I also feel sad for my own behaviour.. I really want to control my behaviour but I can't😔
If someone is annoying you, it means that their actions, behavior, or words are causing you frustration, irritation, or discomfort. Annoying behaviors or actions can vary from person to person, as what one individual finds annoying, another may not. Common reasons for someone to be annoying you include: 1. **Repetitive Actions:** When someone repeatedly does or says the same thing, it can become irritating. 2. **Intrusiveness:** Invading your personal space, asking too many personal questions, or being overly nosy can be annoying. 3. **Loud or Disruptive Behavior:** Excessively loud talking, yelling, or making disruptive noises can be annoying. 4. **Disregarding Boundaries:** When someone ignores your boundaries or personal preferences, it can be irritating. 5. **Complaining:** Constantly complaining or being negative can wear on your patience. 6. **Interrupting:** Repeatedly cutting you off while you're speaking can be annoying. 7. **Excessive Attention-Seeking:** When someone constantly seeks attention or validation, it can become bothersome. It's important to address annoyances calmly and respectfully. Communication is key in such situations. If someone's behavior is causing you discomfort, it's generally a good idea to express your feelings and try to find a resolution or compromise to improve the situation. Keep in mind that everyone has different tolerance levels for annoyance, so what's irritating to one person might not be to another.
My anger toward something is complex. Has anyone ever gotten so _tired_ of someone they see constantly? I feel we see my mom's sister more than my two other aunts (her sister in laws), and I think I'm annoyed because...they're my favorites over the maternal aunt. I get to see the aunt I'm most annoyed with (secretly) than the aunts I enjoy, and I guess I feel that's not fair. It's her, her, her, her, her. Sisters can be SO annoying, even as moms (with the sisterly comparisons, you know). Besides, I think I resent their relationship a bit because I'm a brother with only sisters, and I feel brothers are less important to sisters? You know, brothers are for brothers and sisters are for sisters? Like I said, it's complex. Is it possible how I'm feeling is actually normal, so I'm not being a bigot toward my one and only blood aunt (without her knowledge)?
My relatives come home on when my mother isn't well not to see my mother but to eat good food and to live in luxurious atmosphere as in our country ,we treat relatives in good manner and this irritate me a lot as my mother has fever than also she has to make lot of things to eat .I also help but than also it's not good to come .it makes me angry ,too angry .2nd thing ,my relatives comes to my house during exam and especially during sci and math test Idk how they knows but this also irritates me as I am not able to study .plz help ,how I can control myself, now it's too much .

Had to watch this after getting pissed at call of duty. I'm a sore lover, that's it, I can't handle doing bad or others being better than me and can't handle dying. Get lissed almost every time I die. Can't turn it off.
This is because of a family member and I don't know how to deal with my emotions. She mocked me and then proceeds to try to play with me and after that i didn't want to be miss with. I guess I commanded her to leave me alone but i was yelling while doing it but that was wrong of me. Then she made some claims that was even more irritating and not true. I was tapping my nose with my two fingers with my index and middle finger ( they were together and i never split them apart) and then she proceeds to say " you better not be flipping me off" when i wasn't even doing which made me feel even more annoyed not wanting to deal with my mom. So, I kept saying " leave me alone." Hope this helps though and also if any additional advice would help.
XKingXKakuriX, sometimes you have to walk away and talk later. Try to find a connection, something in common. When you look for commonalities then we stop looking for irritations.
This is even weird when washing the dishes i get angry so fast and someone calling me trash made me angry so faster i wanna control my emotions But this video pop up in my home page thanks!
My man, if my family pisses me off is it because I have too many expectations of them? I get super upset after work when I come home to a messy home and kids that talk back.... my reaction never help the situation. Once I’m irritated, everything irritates me
Les Grossman, let go of the expectation and start having positive experiences with your children. Once you have built the relationship, they will be more likely to listen.

Personally, I have the tendency to get annoyed whenever I'm told something I already know (bonus if it's done in a tone that seems to imply that I ever had any doubts). Even though I know they don't mean to. Even though I know they probably aren't even trying to inform me of anything. Then I get annoyed at myself when I find myself paused, still or stunned. Doing nothing makes me feel stupid and like a waste of time (this is why I find it difficult to be self-aware in the moment). Anybody relate?

I came here because I feel very tired of being so annoyed all the time. I found it amusing that I was feeling annoyed by what the guy was saying because deep down in my heart I know it is absolutely true, but my lazy-self does not want to accept the responsibility of making the next step. Now the question is: how to get rid of (good) feeling of laziness that keeps me drowning in my comfort zone? I want to take the harder road to achieve great things in life, but I am not sure how or what to do...
what if what's causing your irritability is neighbor's selfish NOISE which interferes w/ your ability to get a decent night's sleep which causes more irritability? But if you dare say anything [about them slamming doors, and their wind chimes from hell,] they blame you and say all you do is complain. What then? I'm despairing so badly about this situation. :(
requinremembers, If you complain will they remove the chimes or alter their behavior. If they do and helps me to sleep, I wouldn't care if they thought I was a complainer. Also, have you checked into noise cancelling earbuds? They can work great. Have you thought about moving?
@@LiveOnPurposeTV I dont know if they'd take down the chimes. I told her when she hung them several years ago that I don't like them but she didn't take me seriously (obviously). ..Why should I have to wear earplugs of any type because of their inconsiderate noise?? Not doing it. Besides, earplugs bother my ears. And as to thinking about moving--of course I have, but if you'd like to buy me a house on a bunch of land so I'm not near any other noisy a-holes, I'd be happy to move in. :) Thanks for replying!

I have depression and anxiety (especially social) and anger issues and I hate how much I get irritated and mad.. But like I can't stop.. A few situations and pet peevess I struggle to deal with everyday are ↓↓↓
- I get mad and irritated when I have to repeat myself more than once
- I get mad and sad when I'm not the center of attention, but I'm too scared to make myself the center of attention first
- I get mad when my friend wants to go hang out with someone else because they're my only friend
- I get irritated when other people are in a bad mood around me
- if someone start arguing with me even if it's a joke, it gets me so upset, my face literally turned red
- I get mad when my friend hangs out with someone I don't like or with someone that I'm having drama with
- I get mad if someone's playing something really loud
there's a lot more than just this, but please help, I don't know if I'm just a toxic person, or what? But I want to change it about myself because I hate it.. My brain tells me not to get upset by stuff and just be chill, but my heart tells me to get mad and get irritated and I just listen to my instant emotions
If doing these things has not helped you in the past, then why not try something different. If you can get a membership at Live On Purpose Central, we have training tools that will help to change what is happening.
Literally watching this while siblings are invading my room and my other sibling is typing loudly and incessantly but the only reason I feel irritated is because of my terribly persuasive brain!!!!! This is really helpful by the way...
Rachel Carter, glad the video is helpful. Good luck.
i just want to stop being irritated when my mom ask me the same thing even though i already answered her.
Kaye Aquino, choose to be amused by her questions.
When something is really irritating
and it keeps happening tell the person politely to stop
i haven’t really told anyone this but i get irritated easily and it ruins my mental health. i feel so bad for getting mad at my friends when they do nothing. like one of my best friends can just say some thing and i can get irritated. i’ve been trying to change the way i feel about it but i honestly don’t know how. i was never like this before so i don’t know why i’m like this now. like, say i say something and then she gives her opinion on it even though i didn’t ask for her opinion that disagrees with mine or something, i’d get mad for some reason. i don’t want this to keep happening. it bothers me SO SO SO much. any tips?

Another great video!! This is so helpful for kids also! I read a great quote that Happiness isn’t something you give your kids, it’s something you teach them. And now I can with all your advice so Thank you 😊
Patience S, I truly believe that. We don't get happiness from things, at least not long-term.

I hope it helps also.
You got this! So glad you are willing to try something different, Steph.
Thanks a lot. I got really angry today, and I took all my anger out on my family. I feel bad now. I'm trying to change, I hope I can make it. It's always like this.
Andrijana Andjelic, you are very welcome, start with small changes and they will add up with your consistent behavior over time.
I always get irritated by dishes and steel sound...
Meanwhile my brain:- let's produce dishes sound ;-)
Vanshika karnani, time for a mind shift. Focus on things that make you less aggravated.
Actually super powerful, love the reframe of being amused or entertained. Going to try it out today.
Appreciate the content :)
Thank you.
Thanks for watching, Jay.
Joking is how many people break the ice to start to get to know one another. Give people a try, hopefully you will find some of your best friends.
I'm going to need a video like this because I get pissed off really easily and when I'm trying to learn guitar that doesn't mix well with the fact I have low self-esteem
Henry Miller, focus on how far you have come and the fact that you are doing something challenging. Good for you.

Great suggestion! Insert humor

This helps a lot when I am attempting to flee or fight from an Irritator Challangeri
Thank you for letting me know.
This video is based on pseu·do·sci·ence. Some people are just annoying. If every human being annoyed you I would agree the problem is your own thinking, but if it is just one person the chances are they are annoying and forcing yourself to like people you don't is literally going to lead to toxic relationships and bad situations
Try to choose to be amused. It puts your mind in a different place.
I can't stand people, I think I was born irritated.

I don't get annoyed at little things but my mum ALWAYS interrupts me while im in flow state. either in extreme concentration while studying, or gaming, or singing. and i understand why during gaming and studying because im silent and she cant tell but when i'm singing you should be able to hear it. and when im rlly feeling it she ALWAYS fkn comes in and asks abt trivial things like can you wash the dishes and i've asked so many times not to interrupt me while singing cause it's so hard to get back into flow state and everytime she says sorry i forgot. Im legit about to smash my head into a wall. tips and advice pls.

This is awesome! I choose to be amused
Sublime Journey, thank you.
I love being positive and calm but of course im human so sometimes i lose my cool. This video was helpful.

SARK, we certainly don't control their deciding to change. Work on yourself and hopefully your partner will see the difference.
I get so irritated or get angry easily to the point that when i accidentally push a chair my older brother would tell me "Stop getting mad" hes so irritating 🙄

You know, being irritated most of the time can probably be a sign of depression. Idk why but it's in the research. My Mother always gets mad when I'm being irritated but she never knew what I truly feel, after being bullied at school back then, she never knew and when I became so irritated when she keeps asking questions she just slaps me and hurts me all the time
Helllooo, I am so sorry to hear that. We don't need to hit to deal with our irritation. I hope you have someone you can talk to.
@@LiveOnPurposeTV Thank you. I will always keep positive no matter what happens.

Tony Martinez, I am glad you are controlling your thoughts. Imagine you doing something else instead of blowing up in anger when something inconvenienced happens to you.

If someone is annoying you, it means that their actions, behavior, or words are causing you frustration, irritation, or discomfort. Annoying behaviors or actions can vary from person to person, as what one individual finds annoying, another may not. Common reasons for someone to be annoying you include:
Thank you for the comment, this is great.
I got hella mad when the lemonade i drank was off and my nose itched just a bit

You are never wrong about your feelings. They are yours and it sounds like you are craving some things that you are not getting now.

Doing nothing makes me feel stupid and like a waste of time (this is why I find it difficult to be self-aware in the moment).

what if what's causing your irritability is neighbor's selfish NOISE which interferes w/ your ability to get a decent night's sleep which causes more irritability?
