Hey Eric & Mara,
Good to see a woman who will jump right in to help .
And she knows what she is doing !
The dog is always looking to see what he/she can do to help.😅
Eric getting a little exhausted - Mira gets the tools she needs and gets stuck right in. What a wonderful caring woman to have. She's a gem.
My Jack makes the same squeak and all my neighbors know it😂
Hey there Eric I've been in the commercial truck tire business 27 years I'm from Northern Michigan but my life has taken me down here to Florida We get some of those 37 1250 r16.5 military takeoffs from the bases down here when they get a little bit of age on them they just throw them away still got lots of tread. Definitely a big job most people can't appreciate
Thanks for the video Eric and Mara i know Eric works and it's tough to get these video's out.
Eric definitely got his workout done
He was definitely tired! 🛞 … 🤣
Marra that was nice helping Eric with the tire change. And your friend really helped a lot getting the liner out of the old tire. Glad it was just a tire and nothing worse for as hard as you worked with the wrecker last weekend Eric.
Maura's truck is coming along nicely, changing flats is a pia
Seat cover is such a great wife
I like how a flat tire doesn't deflate your day
You can tell he was tired though! 🛞
When you work all the time and have to come home and work it would take me a whole video to change tire too
keep ur spare tires u der a tarp or something to block the sunlight and u. rays from. deteriorating your already used spare tires... and it also keeps. the water out of them too
Recently changed a tire on my Hutchinson bead locks. Dropped the center section in and thought "did the o-ring stay in". Ignored this only to have to pull it apart later. The o-ring was so mangled it was ridiculous.
I love the way you use that prybar to get the tire back on that was incredibly intelligent where to go Eric’s
Hat's off to you for tackling it yourself, well with the help. That's some seriously nice tires. The pup needs some treats. Nice video !
Woo, a double introduction! Whenever you have a front flat on the wrecker, MY back starts hurting! @7:10... Looks like Green Tea! Yep, I don't lift tires with my arms either. I sit on my butt and lift them up with my legs.
You certainly earned you dinner changing that tire!! Those look like a lot of work.
Great to see the help!!!!!
It takes a lot of work to keep the wheels on.
Lefthanded! Good job, Eric. ❤
On the bright side Eric it's only flat on the bottom
No it's not fully flat. Lol. Gotta love the run flats😊
Your four legged shop dog is cute so it the shop supervisor to
Great that you had another tire and wheel on hand. Looks like you are tired!
Working a full time job at the dealership & doing this on the side after hours Will do that to a person.
Great job guys. Thank you 😊
old blonde shur looks good and sturdy.
Thanks for the video Eric
Eric; when you get the slab poured outside the shop you should make an area for hosing down the wrecker before running it into the shop.......
I can remember when you built that wrecker it was white maybe give the old girl a walk round video talk about the things you would like to do to the wrecker and things you are going to do but it's up to you great video enjoy watching keep up the hard work
Amazing enjoy your video
Doing old school that's how I have to do it
be glad you have an impact driver and can change the tire off the truck.
Thank you for another excellent video.
How many old hummer tires do you have stock piled
Lift versus a jack? if it's only one tire,, only need to lift the one just enough to r&r it, those that lift entire vehicle to however much higher than really needs to do,, then have to lift that heavy as crap wheel&tire up to however much higher than needed vehicle to put back on, being old, decrepit, and weak I'll do like eric and use the jack and lift the one just high enough
I wonder how many people here have actually lifted one of those rim and tire packages with the run flat installed? I never want to lift those further than I had to. My 12 bolt rims and stuff all weight as much as I do. 😳
Those things are Heavy! I agree the closer to the ground the better. Don't have a lift in my current shop, but Eric knows his stuff.
@@kurtburkhardt5862 he is the head of repairs a the chevy dealer he works at, my sister lived in the area for a time, never met him but have been to dealership he works at as my sister got several cars there
Old, decrepit, hey, I resemble that
@@KevinHaley-hv9hdwear it with pride. Old and decrepit ain't for the weak. 😅
Enjoy your videos always thank you for your content
I had my strap let go when I was removing the insert out of mine and it was not pretty.
To get mine out the easiest I put the whole tire and run flat underneath the legs of my cherry picker and use the lifting portion to pull the insert out of the tire.
Good morning Eric if I was there I would definitely enjoy changing the tire it would be a challenge and a good arm workout to do.
That a bit different rim design than I am familiar with. Not as hard to swap out as some not as easy as others.
The run flats I hade were 2 half of aluminum with jell packs and bolted in side of tire but around rim
Whole video changing the tire. 😂😂😂
Not just any tire, Run flats... A total pain in the a---
Some consider the video a “blowout” success 🤣
I have a question that hasn't been answered by anyone yet that I know of (I've looked). How did you make humvee beadlocks dually on the rear? Whats your setup out back are you running spacers or custom wheels? I have a Dodge 3500 dually with spacers out back to make it single rear wheel. I have 6 good humvee surplus wheels/tires and I would love to make my truck dually again.
hey, i changed any an every sort of tire for several years. since that one had a bad sidewall, id probably used a sawzall an cut the tire off to get to the run flat insert faster an less painful. id think ud have no problem doing it especially after getting the ratchet strap a lil cranked down. youve probably already thought of this an it doesnt work , if so sorry for my input.
keep the clips coming
That sucks after all that hard work you did on the trials.
looks like u have a bigger leak in ur air hose...
❤
thank god for impact guns thats alot of cranking by hand great video
Are you running the plastic inserts!
Try those glue tread side wall repair kits
6:50. Use ratchet straps . Between your 2 post lift. Pull that runflat out easy peasy
Have you ever considered using a dot of anti seize?
A small amount, just a dot on lug nuts where the tapper meets the rim. This will allow the nuts to torque completely and still be easily removed.
He has some & if you didnt know he is a G.M. master mechanic & a service manager (his job), i dont think he uses any on the rims at least from the many we have seem him change out on the channel.
The problem for me with that silver Anti Seize is that just one dot will be discovered 3 months later on 15 different clothes 🤣
👍👍👍
I have a 3/4 ton Chevy 8 lug I'd like to know where you got your rims from I like the look of them
Those are two-piece Humvee rims
They are Hummer wheels, positive off-set, will need a large spacer for a single wheel axle. I run a duly front.
@@offroadrecoveryteam thank you
Bobcat bucket to squash the tyre of the rim
Bead locks/run flats. You don't squash the tire, you pry up the rim section, like you saw him do. Do keep up.
@@Mark_Bridges just watched war paint off road use a high lift jack on his Jeep to squash the sidewall down to release it !
@@thatdave86 Don't know that channel, but did you notice the runflat insert takes up the entire width of the tire at the bead? Sure you can try to squash it down a bit but it just springs back up due to the insert.
If you had a different type of beadlocks (usually without the runflat insert) it might work to squash them but Eric did it the right way for these Hummer wheels.
@@Mark_Bridges they were focused on the rear bead groove, yes they still lifted the rim piece out but it was free .
Watched another vid,but he used a trolley jack and tie down ,more for when you would be on the trail.
If the bobcat had a 4in1 bucket a simple squeeze might be a big help to save struggling with it .
Yes I see your reasoning why run flat tyres can't be handle this way ,I would expect the tyre to be de-mounted by a tyre shop, and if the owner was a lady/girl they might struggle with a stubborn tyre .
Really surprised Eric doesn't have a pneumatic tire machine.
What use would a machine be with bead locks/run flats?
I think he would have drunk the tire water for $7.❤
Yes there would be no better surprise than having the ring fly off
I remember doing this in the Army. Pain in the keister! Mara! I'd drink that before I'd eat lutefisk!!!! Thanks for allowing us to visit!
Was that a tube in the tire?
No, a run flat/bead lock
I use old brake fluid on tire beads works good for sealing & mtg
Wondering why he doesn't use lift
Eric must not be used to having that lift - I would have used the lift instead of the jack, but I'm getting old!
Love watching a lot of theese Channels, but 😅 It seems americans always choose mucking about on the floor just besides a lift 😅 no matter the amount of work and risking having the car fall off the jack onto them, and it does'nt matter how many lifts they got in the workshop 🤔😅 but for a simple wheel change I would also choose the jack because it is easier compared to hanging the car on the lift - and a jackstand or the other wheel as safety 😅
@@117000000- As a Statesman here I often find myself working on the floor and wondering why I built three rolling work tables at perfect waist height. 🤔 Angrily I look around and see absolutely every inch of useable countertop littered with half finished projects of my father’s….Then I realize that I’m in HIS shop and decide to quietly finish my project 🤣
😅👍@@RustyZipper
Don't much see split rims anymore
Sounds like you're hurting puppy dog.
That was Mara's phone going off.
done alot of those tires eric. I was a mechanic in the army. 30 minute job
Time to get new beadlock wheels and better tires. Hated those tires in the military.
He said in a previous video he likes having run flats for the work the wrecker does.
1:09. Who's that?
That's baby seat cover aka Abby
I don't want to be captain obvious in the hindsight but why don't you just cut the tire off when it's already garbage unless you're planning on fixing that
Come pick me up on long Island, I'll gladly give you a hand brother
Eric your looking tired.
It never ceases to amaze me that when someone has a lift in their shop they still use a floor jack instead
In the time it takes to drive the truck to the lift, position the arms, and lift it, he can grab the floor jack. it's more work, but Eric's never been afraid of work.
Well I really think Eric knows what he's doing and I'm sure there was a good reason/ like maybe to much stuff in the way hmmmm.
This comment is to help you beat that darned algorithm

think about getting a tire machine.... ur back with thank u
With bead locks/run flats? Machines aren't as useful for those.
Appreciate the video! Also a tip, consider completely cutting out Dairy from your diet at least for a while so you can see that it is the cause for so much of human joint & muscle paint and swollen hands and or ankles and feet.
Completely cut it out and by week 3 you should start to feel & notice the difference, then if you want only have good quality dairy products and only a little!
I was 40ish felt like I was waking up from out of my grave every morning it was ridiculous and Poppin 1 Aleve everyday faithfully!...🫤 NOT anymore those days are gone 🤸🏽♀️ stopped dairy becus I wanted to see if it was true, & well by week 3 NO More & I mean NO more Aleve since then 3 years Aleve free, pain swollen achy stuff gone 🤸🏽♀️
