@@ryandeweese363 There is a fundamantal problem with that - as the weed builds up, it forms a ramp that just diverts the rest of the weed over the top of the barrier.
The flower is called a globe mallow and is a great plant for wildlife, which is probably why Matt likes it. The tumbleweed is also known as a Russian thistle it is an invasive species from Asia.
@steiner554 Tumbleweeds were introduced to North America around 1870. Came in from Russia in a shipment of flax seeds sent to South Dakota, and spread like wildfire after that.
Agree 100% - low profile tires on Jeeps, Pickups, SUVs, or passenger sedans are pretty dumb. The only technical reason for low profile tires is sharper turn-in (only important on high performance sports cars); the downsides are poorer ride and fuel economy, as well as higher probability of damaging a rim.
I own a Cherokee Trailhawk that thankfully comes with standard profile 275/60R20 tires; I live in the high desert off a dirt driveway that gets rutted by the rain and snow; and even then, while tempted I would likely not take it off road on most the trails in MORR videos. When we occasionally truck down to Costco for supplies, I notice the Jeep Wrangler/ Trucks for sale and the ridiculous low profile non- terrain tires they sport. Further the hybrids weigh about 700 lbs more than a non-hybrid which is obviously a huge disadvantage off road. That Sierra 4XE weighs 1000 lbs more than my Cherokee.
The spotter earned that A+ rating. I was sure Matt was going to at least crush the end of the tail pipe dropping off those steps, but there was not one single scrape. In fact there was zero damage. Those toe eyes are all different so you can’t buy an aftermarket one easily. They get lost often and you have to go to the dealer and buy an over expensive large bolt.😅
Tip for tow truck operators: When using the nautical eye of recovery be sure to secure the little cover/door that covers the attachment point, it is often times only hanging on by a small plastic "thread" and is prone to falling off and it is no fun to try and find a replacement especially since the little cover is body colored, not only will you have to find a replacement but you may need to have it painted to match the color. A little painters tape will go a long way in preventing this situation.

It’s seems to be pretty standard that most RUclips channels only run between 10 and 15 minute videos. I suppose that’s because today’s generation loses interest with anything longer. I think it would be interesting if you were to take a poll of your viewers to see if that’s the case for your channel? I obviously can’t speak for everyone but I really enjoy your content and the longer videos are great. It doesn’t seem to matter if it’s working in the shop, the trail recoveries, or just the family (meaning everyone) having a good time! It’s always a pleasure to watch and it’s good, clean (relatively speaking), wholesome entertainment. Thanks for what you do and please keep up the awesomeness!
its not by choice its due to they way RUclips algorithm works short vids get promoted more to new people while long form don't anymore, it use to be the other way around
It’s an algorithm thing. RUclips prioritizes videos of that length. The channels that make longer format are having to go to other places. I know a lot of kids that watch long format stuff, but go ahead and keep pushing the narrative that young people have no attention span. That has more to do with the parenting than the kid.
VGG and Mustie1 seem to be getting longer, they are often over an hour now. And the excavator guys run about 50 minutes. So must be more to it. Just need something to hold attention be it an interesting project, funny sidekick, good descriptions, or just ASMR value.

Comes from hanging out with guys much older than her
Those toe eyes are all different so you can’t buy an aftermarket one easily.
Not 100% sure, but fairly confident the flower Matt ate is a Desert Mallow
Type of Globe Mallow for sure
@@flowersofjoy4845 I agree with both of you (100%)
What does it taste like? And please don’t say “chicken”
@@Saturnian4417 Desert Mallow flowers taste similar to Globe mallow.
But really I have only tried it once a long time ago, but a friend described it as kind of similar to hibiscus
I believe you are correct.
Nate is awesome. Love that he just calls you up out of the blue, to see what you are doing.
🎵 Rolling along like a tumbling tumbleweed 🎶
Nate is the man. I like the sensible care he provides mixed with the wild lets go nature of the matts crew
The plant is a desert mallow. One of my favorites, but I've never tasted one. Hold my coffee, I've got a little thing to do...
@steiner554 there busy washing and changing there bed sheets to reply ;)
@steiner554 I'm just north of albuquerque, and ours aren't ripe yet 😊
Matt you get a big ole A in my book. Your side track desert info was refreshing and very informative.
You did the responsible thing of locking hubs early. Your dad would have waited just to see how far he gets without locking lol 😂
The key was his remark about not breaking anything. Matt can take more chances, because it's his own rig, and if something breaks, he broke it. Rhett is, indeed, being responsible, but specifically being a good steward of someone else's things, and respectful of someone else's hard work by doing everything he can to use the tool as safely as possible. I'm very impressed with Matt's kids. He's done a great job.
Caitlin in the weather seat. Excellent!
KateLynn
Great job!
Funniest line…I got cut!
Poor Rhett!
“Trail Blazer” , Chevy dropped that ball on that one
Trax
@@dk3941 FWD only Trax
Wow. That Trax is already in rough shape. Not smart enough to realize that is not an off-road vehicle. Sad that common sense isn’t common anymore…
Trailblazer. The wife was looking for a new car. Tried a Trailblazer for one day and hated it. Bad design, every bad feature in one
@@frumpyamerican9236The Trax is a disposable car.
3:38 I still say it would be GREAT idea, to locate a handful of the most popular "recovery/shipping eye bolts", from the scrap yard, and keep them in each recovery vehicle. Small item low weight handy to have on hand etc etc.
That jeep should stay in the mall parking lot 😂
don't be mean bro that is one pretty Jeep

Matt and team really just made a life around wheeling and helping people. I’m here for it
Katelynn!! Thank yall for getting us the spelling 😂
Great video, Youngins, dogs and an old man eating buds.
@@charlescreegan6164 go look at them channels you just said on socialblade and you will see there monthly view and subs dropping to almost nothing then look at a channel showing short form vids like this one and you see there doing lot better as we said its due to algorithm and what youtube are forcing channels to do
It wasn't that long ago (about 10 years) where RUclips videos couldn't go more than 10 minutes.
"It's ok he's in training"!!!! OMG! LOL!~Thank you for the pretty flowers and tumbleweeds! We don't have them in Florida..Matt did great!
.Great episode!!!
Lol that first little squeek
Video brightened my morning. Plenty of laughs and good vibes, even included an unexpected guest star. I give it an A+.
The thumbnail should of been Matt’s gardening show 😂
That was an A+ for the whole team on getting that jeep out of there without any scraped bumpers. Matt, we have the same problem with the tumble weeds here in SE Colorado Good job guys on goth recoveries.
Katelynn brings a spark to the videos
Those goofy eyelashes
It makes me wonder if there is a time when MORR hasn't gotten em out. So glad to see everyone at MORR learning and contributing and just making it such a great resource for people that need an off-road recovery.
Matt: I am the cameraman today.. as he drives out the jeep.
That jeep looks practically undriveable
Jeep managed to cripple it with those princess rims and long wheelbase.
@@keon8625plus it’s got a thing called auto-hold, where it will not go forward unless you’re pressing the accelerator, it puts some kind of brake on as soon as you lift your foot. And it won’t roll forward after taking your foot off the brake until you press the accelerator. Stupidest thing I’ve ever encountered.

Yes We Like your community info. Love it thank-you for the great video.
Just because Matt didn't wet the bed when he ate them, doesn't mean Rhett and Katelynn won't wet the bed from eating them.
🤫😂
That was my thought as well 😂
I'm curious as to if they did or not, especially considering it doesn't appear he told them what they were in the video.
Perhaps its from an old Boy Scout that has studied his native country environment & learned the edibles of the desert around him? Lol, there's lots of tasty things out there, especially in the spring!
I was thinking the exact same thing as they was eating them
Love the wildflower show. Matt needs a plant identification app, though. I don't think those are called "wet the bed". Must have eaten them on a dare once? Common dandelions have been called "wet the beds", no info online about any desert flower called that.
What I take away from this video. Don't take a hybrid rock crawling
I think a Rubicon hybrid could've handled it
@@1ryanlc IIRC, the 4xE models are all Rubicon trim. The problem was the tires were not off-road ready. Guessing it was a rental?
Edit: maybe it was only the first year of 4xE that were Rubicons, rewatching the video a bit and I can't tell if that one is or not, leaning towards not. Definitely not Rubicon wheels and tires...
@@AndrewAMartin This one was a Sahara. You're right, they probably rented a jeep and thought any jeep could go anywhere 😂 Those tires weren't made for trails!
Hybrid was less of a problem than the low-profile tires.
Matt, stopping to 'smell' the desert flowers.
Also Matt ... panting, "Oh my goodness, this cameraman stuff is for the birds!"
Milkshakes all around! Great video! Team MorrPeanut!! ;-) ... iconic channel mascot!
Sad that Tumbleweeds are not native to the United States, if I remember correctly, they came over in early grain shipments from Russia.
The History Guy has had a more recent video on the tumbleweed.
Matt, I'm a 77 year old man, and you're such a great dad. I wish I had had a dad like you. And your team was awesome. 💕
Wow, that hybrid Jeep was shockingly bad off-road.
Twitchy city... Looked like Matt's first day driving! 😂
I love what you're doing bringing the youngins in and getting them trained. So cool to watch.
As fa as I know, in Europe the towing eye has to have a left hand thread. It's in case the tow rope is 3 strand. As 3 strand rope tightens it will try and unwind left handed, therefore tightening the towing eye.
That's what you call straight on point and no BS spotting.
Nice recoveries and incredible camera work. It was entertaining and educational. Thanks Team Moore!
Such a positive, fun time! Good to meet the other fellas. I love the respect they all have for one another.
Matt, missed you guys, first video I've been able to watch in the last 6 weeks. Life happens and often in sad ways but got the chance to catch this video. It felt good to sit back and watch the sand and rock crawling rescues again...looking forward to more of The MORR😉💖👍👍
Dessert Mallow is used to help with UTI, so maybe that's why they call it wet the bed. It's also related to okra!

Thank you for taking us out!!!!!💙❤️
18:25 you can definitely tell that those brakes are super touchy.
Rhett, you are the most important team member. We get to watch your dad teach you how to be awesome!
You had to tell Rhett to lock the hubs and teach Caitlyn about where to find the hook and how to screw it in. Solid B. Matt's camera work was flawless though.😂❤
Matt I like the education on what you can eat in the desert. Brings back memories of Euell Gibbons " Watch me eat this rubber tire!"
A+ Excellent Content - Great Ideas on how to get out of a bad situation with limited tools. Proves, don't take an expensive Jeep rock climbing without lift, and maybe a better rule of thumb - Don't go-off roading without knowing the terrain. Wonderful sharing 'the glory" with the kids, its important to train the next generation - so techniques and problem solving aren't forgotten.
I love Nate's Toyota. Lots of great choices went in to that build!
