Hey Matt, I use old socks as a bag for my small ratchet straps. Once you wrap them up, they just slide in. I use different colors for the ratchet and buckle straps so I know what to grab.
as an old tow driver back in the days before wheel lift trucks we had a boom that we would drop and put the J hooks on and we were gone, I understand why Matt could not use that in the places he goes, but what about an extended bumper on the rear with a rubber pad just to keep the towed vehicle from getting damaged from hitting the wrecker? sometimes going down a grade it gets close if it was low enough to hit the tires it could help out some day
If you’re stranded and leave out key details, that is foolish as it limits your aid’s ability to get what they need to help you, ultimately making the job harder than needed.

Your sons are all amazing kids Matt, but I am really proud of Rhett and Kaulin, they dig in to help and don't mind staying up late and getting down and dirty if they have too! Matt said, “I’m pretty much the best at staying humble that I know of.” This is a declaration that you have stopped being humble! Ha. But I think you are a humble guy most of the time! Love your channel!
Being humble is the most important quality of an employer as demonstrated by Matt. As an employer I would always take the grunt work and unfavorable tasks because I didn't want my employees to work for me but with me. I thank my farm upbringing for that. Good video, Matt.
For all those people who say you should "blah blah blah" to keep the towed vehicle from hitting the boom, maybe they could show up at the off road games and mock up their solution to test it out as one of the games.
It's cool that you are not above anyone doing any job. You are willing to help anywhere and take others' opinions into consideration doing jobs you may have done differently.
There will always be hatred due to jealousy and inability to do a good job and have good work ethics. I experienced this in life and always ignored the negative aspects. You and yours are very fortunate to enjoy life and pass the torch on. May you always have family and friends.
Matt, the way in which you have guided your sons and made them excellent young men should be an example to all parents out there. Under an apparent sheen of a carefree approach lies a brilliant and incredibly skilfully managed organization. And an impressive depth of talent.
From the Collective Wisdom of Matt's Off Road Recovery: "Reason I do this is to stay humble. Staying humble is pretty important. I'm the best at staying humble that I know of." Love the channel guys; some day I will be coming that way
A 5 gallon bucket is a great way to store ratchet straps. It doesn't have to be a mess though... If you hang the hook of a ratchet on the rim, then hook the matching strap in the eye of the ratchet hook, you can grab one hook from the rim and have a complete ratchet strap. That way the noodles don't have to be hard to sort out of the bucket :) Love your videos!
Matt and Rhett to the rescue of the Jeep and towed it out. Rhett looks good in the big wrecker and like Jaymie loves the way it handles on the trail! Sure is nice to have Kaulin helping out with the recovery's. Good video!
Looks like the front passenger tire of the trailer is bowed out at a different angle then the rest of the tires. Seems like its been like that for a longggg time. lol. Love the content and seeing how this team has evolved over the years. :)
I’m predicting the future. The bad thing about your channel is that your sons grow up and move on to their own thing. And they are such wonderful young men. It was tough when Rudy left.
"I have to stay humble - and I'm the best at being humble that I know". Yes, Matt - some of us caught that one. 🙂 Again, I am constantly impressed with how well his sons have turned out! 👍 - Ed on the Ridge
There is some pretty rugged land you guys have to go through to get some of the vehicles you recover. It's not easy a lot of the time but you do make it look more easy than I think most people think it is.
Matt, I enjoy your channel very much so. I like your rescues videos and of course those of the crew as they are able to do what is needed when you are not there. Just something to think about for your wrecker to make it a little more usable, as a tow truck operators wheel lifts are great, and I know you said you would prefer not to use, or it is not a good thing because of the condition of the terrane most if not all of your jobs are in. Instead of a wheel lift or a sling, you should design a bar that is just long enough to reach the distance of your boom since it carries the vehicles, but an articulating bar that you can hang of the front axles of any vehicle that attaches to the back of the wrecker, that keeps said vehicles from swinging into the back of the wrecker. One that you can hang on the pinto which will give the ability to move in all direction. This will not just stop the vehicle from smashing into the back of the wrecker, but it will also stop the vehicle from swinging side to side, it would be safer. You will just have to work out the amount of articulation that is acceptable for the rock crawling tow that you do from time to time, but I believe it will make things a little safe. You could also take two pipes one bigger than the other so they can slide in and out of one another and weld in a stiff spring to allow some give in the movement of the bar. It was just something I thought about while watching some of your videos using the wrecker, just something to think about. Take care and keep the good work. Matt's Off Road Recovery crew is a great crew doing a great job for the community of off-roader within your reach. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us the universe of couch potatoes.
RIP those fork seals. Maybe due to the off road haul, however i do recommend straping the front end by the bottom of the forks. That will allow the bike to bounce and prevent the fork seals from getting blown out. When i haul my motor cycle i have a strap for each fork then the back tire and does great. never falls over. BUT with offroad all the bumps i understand that may not be possible. worth trying though lol Love the content

I don't know if this would at all be a practical upgrade for the wreaker, but a backup camera and a nice screen so you can see what is hanging from the boom.
the need front and back at a minimum and to START CARRYING EXTRA FUEL
Lol you know Matt doesn’t like building things technologically advanced to make things easy as possible 😂😂😂
@@judadon707 Well, I was going to argue about the 4 wheel steering, which is a huge deal in that truck, but it's manual too. It's not automated like a Mercedes, or Cybertruck. So, you win. 🙂
@@fjalics nor did he build it
@@KirbyLouis Maybe if could capture the video, it might make for some cool clips. I wouldn't mind seeing the view from the front bumper here and there.
Do you know what I think is so cool? Matt: Just the way that you empower, educate and teach your kids and the other younger people on your show “how to” do things. My father never did that for me, and I think it was a great disservice.
You are teaching them skills and qualities that will last them a lifetime, and have them grow into such amazing young adults. LOVE YOUR SHOW!
So happy to see Max coming along again 🥰🥰
I wonder how many people actually consider moving to Utah after seeing Matt's videos? The terrain is like nothing else and the videography does a great job of capturing it. (I lived in Cedar, so I know how nice is there! And apparently it's booming now)
I like the motorcycle seat view!
Hey Matt, I use old socks as a bag for my small ratchet straps. Once you wrap them up, they just slide in. I use different colors for the ratchet and buckle straps so I know what to grab.
Matt you filming yoirself "getting the shot" yet just filming yourself was top tier comedy
as an old tow driver back in the days before wheel lift trucks we had a boom that we would drop and put the J hooks on and we were gone, I understand why Matt could not use that in the places he goes, but what about an extended bumper on the rear with a rubber pad just to keep the towed vehicle from getting damaged from hitting the wrecker? sometimes going down a grade it gets close if it was low enough to hit the tires it could help out some day
If you’re stranded and leave out key details, that is foolish as it limits your aid’s ability to get what they need to help you, ultimately making the job harder than needed.
Thanks for the obvious Dad.
Humans make mistakes lol it’s easy to forget to mention something on a phone call
In their defence I don’t think they knew he was going to try to fix it
The calls through dispatch are not always conveyed fully👍
"It broke!"
This old 65 year old man can't imagine anybody saying anything bad about you your crew or your wonderful family. It really kinda upsets me to even think about. You all make my day when I see a new episode. Just keep doing what you're doing ❤
Hey Matt you got to check out a song by Mac Davis it's hard to be humble when you're perfect in every way
I bet he knows it. Maybe he'll sing it for us in an upcoming video?! LOL
You guys pulled off the rescue with pizzazz in spite of the miscommunication with the customer! Your sons are all amazing kids Matt, but I am really proud of Rhett and Kaulin, they dig in to help and don't mind staying up late and getting down and dirty if they have too! And you have earned the right to be proud of your humbleness!😇
Good job Rett, you really STEERED around those bovines. ;)
He was udderly cowcentrated !
The steaks were high…..
That was perfect light at sunset for filming/photography/videography.
"I'm the best at being humble, that I know of!" 😂
I was really hoping nobody else caught that but you beat me to the punch lol
Once you get past my charm, my good looks, my intelligence and my sense of humor, I think it's my modesty that really stands out.
Agree, this made me chuckle. Best line of the video.
It’s hard to be humble when you’re perfect in every way
@stufreeland5709 No, no, I think you mean "It's easy to be humble when you're perfect in every way. Hahahahaha!
Matt said, “I’m pretty much the best at staying humble that I know of.” This is a declaration that you have stopped being humble! Ha. But I think you are a humble guy most of the time! Love your channel!
Awesome camerawork, Matt!
I vote for you to be the cameraman from now on. 😉
Those dogs are livin their best life ever. Good on you for giving them that life.
I think Matt was bummed that he couldn't do a trail repair 😂
Being humble is the most important quality of an employer as demonstrated by Matt. As an employer I would always take the grunt work and unfavorable tasks because I didn't want my employees to work for me but with me. I thank my farm upbringing for that.
Good video, Matt.
For all those people who say you should "blah blah blah" to keep the towed vehicle from hitting the boom, maybe they could show up at the off road games and mock up their solution to test it out as one of the games.
I just so love seeing the dogs having fun .. and a couple cool recovery's with recovery vehicles that work and dont break down themselves 😉
Good seeing the fur family back together!
Not all Matt Rats have fur.😂😂
@@theuglytruth8162 lol, Matt thanks you for supporting his channel!
@@BitBuhkit 😎...👍
“I’m pretty much the best at staying humble”. Good one!
Matt: "I'm pretty much the best at staying humble that I know of"
What a humble thing of you to say!
Loved your humble joke. My older sister told me years ago “as soon as you think you’re humble, you’re not!”
It's cool that you are not above anyone doing any job. You are willing to help anywhere and take others' opinions into consideration doing jobs you may have done differently.
Great recovery with Rhett and Kaylin’s. Matt raised 2 Great kids. Great to see all the dogs out for a run. Great driving Rhett!🤙😎
There will always be hatred due to jealousy and inability to do a good job and have good work ethics.
I experienced this in life and always ignored the negative aspects. You and yours are very fortunate to enjoy life and pass the torch on. May you always have family and friends.
You are a Humble and Compassionate Man.
Hope ALL goes well and Safe next weekend!!!!
Best regards from Middle Tennessee. ✌🏻🇺🇸👍🏻
I'm the best at staying humble that I know of." Love the channel guys; some day I will be coming that way
Some nice views you got off the seat of the dirt bike Matt. Good work all around.👍
A 5 gallon bucket is a great way to store ratchet straps. It doesn't have to be a mess though... If you hang the hook of a ratchet on the rim, then hook the matching strap in the eye of the ratchet hook, you can grab one hook from the rim and have a complete ratchet strap. That way the noodles don't have to be hard to sort out of the bucket :)
Love your videos!
You are respectful to the environment, your family and all I've seen u meet. Keep up the great work and videos.
If someone talking smack about you and you crew they just straight up jealous they wish they had ur job u guys are amazing!!!
I’m predicting the future. The bad thing about your channel is that your sons grow up and move on to their own thing. And they are such wonderful young men. It was tough when Rudy left.
Matt being humble, good wholesome family friendly video. This is the reason why I enjoy and continue to watch MORR. Thanks again for the upload.
Matt you build some amazing mechanical stuff but none of them impressed me more than your physical agility and stamina. Way to go young man.
That Matt tire shot reminded me of Superman...lol
Great recoveries by the greatest crew on earth. Well done.
Love seeing Rhett getting to drive to the recovery!!! The young guys need the experience!! I miss Rudy on this channel tho
That's beautiful country I walked about 6 miles on the dirt road before I hitched a ride to Page after finishing the AZT.
“I’m pretty much the best at staying humble that I know of.” 😂 Matt, that is why we love you!
"I have to stay humble - and I'm the best at being humble that I know".
Yes, Matt - some of us caught that one. 🙂
Again, I am constantly impressed with how well his sons have turned out! 👍
- Ed on the Ridge
I always love how Rhett appreciates the beauty of where he's at.
Love there trail shots of the dogs running and water crossings, reminds me of the old recovery videos.
There is some pretty rugged land you guys have to go through to get some of the vehicles you recover. It's not easy a lot of the time but you do make it look more easy than I think most people think it is.
You guys are fun to watch very skilled at what you do and seem to get along pretty well. Keep on what your doing.
Matt, I appreciate that you trust your sons to drive the rigs that so many hours of work went into. Good on ya!
BUT with offroad all the bumps i understand that may not be possible. worth trying though lol
Love the content
I'm glad to see that you are comfortable with praising your sons (and your workers) publicly.
