Around 1:55 to 2:00 I noticed that both of Tomtom’s passengers were holding on to the roll cage rails. Might I suggest to put some sort of loops from the one where Colby has his hand to the a pillar one. To reinforce the corner and provide a hand hold.
I did the same to our sand rail. Make sure the inner cage tube is trussed enough so that its impossible that the outer tube bends inwards enough to crush a hand. And you never get rubbed on a tree at high speed...
Been saying this for a long time. Never hold on to the roll cage. Keep your whole body in the buggy. Holding onto the roll cage in the rocks is a great way to lose some fingers.

I bet the Tangerine is more useful in its current configuration. Maybe a canvas top and a windshield and a front winch could be added for more recovery work.
a windshield - even just perspex - is a must. especially if the driver in this case is not even wearing sunglasses. very easy to get injured - a stone or an insect to the cheek is dangerous enough, let alone straight to the eyeball.
@@ritterkeks I think you're right. I wear glasses so my eyes are all right, but I've had a few bumblebee strikes on my bike at 8-15 mph, and it's a startling impact even at lower speeds. I bet those herding dogs enjoy herding the cars around with Matt, I was laughing at the end when he was backing the jeep onto the rollback and the dog was looking back and forth like they were on point
I wonder if a adjustable bar (pin and holes) and two ring hitches one on each end. Then a pintle hitch in the receiver of each vehicle that would stop it from smashing into each other. Along with the winch holding it up
You need a solid link from the back of the wrecker to the towed vehicle. I have an idea for it. Utilize the pintle hook. Make a 2 piece sliding square or round tube with holes drilled to make it length adjustable, add the pintle hook to attach it the the wrecker. Than make a couple adapters that can strap on to the diff, or bumper & one to go into a 3 in hitch reciever on the towed vehicle. No more damage, and no need for braking or an anchor vehicle.
Such amazing team work and your son was awesome (I didn't want to butcher his name). He shined and did an exceptional job along with the rest of the crew. So much fun to watch. Thank you.
Well the biggest wrecker did a good job as usual getting this broken jeep out of a very bad situation and the Tangerine worked as brakes for the broken Jeep. Good video thanks for sharing. Matt has a good team there!
How about weaving a strap out of Joshua Tree trunk fibers or daisy chaining 73 zip ties together? Or tie Rhett's hoodie drawstrings to one wheel and his shoelaces to the other wheel. Easy solutions.

i have said this before , you need to build something solid from the back of the wrecker that will stop the tow car from hitting the wrecker ,(a A frame that uses the nato hitches on the wrecker with a T bar that can be attached the recovered car)
Wouldn't work great going over such steep obstacles, and it's hard to know if it will even work on enough vehicles. On some vehicles they can't even find a spot for a strap, so definitely not finding somewhere to hook a towbar

For all the years we took Pat's YJ off roading, we never lost the c clips. Never on any of our other Jeeps either, but Pat's YJ was the one that always broke down from electrical issues. My XJ had a smittybilt winch that refused to free spool, My WJ had problems engaging four-wheel drive, my RAM constantly got stuck and hydro locked, but none of us ever lost the c clips
A couple small pair of vice grips on the brake hoses will help you in those situations to get you partial brakes going again with minor risk of further damage.
I’m beginning to think they are the most unprofessional group of professionals out there. With stuff left off the vehicles and the lack of maintenance and I know he has radios because they’ve used them before. Just a group of clowns at times
Jam the brake pedal hard. Should move the shuttle valve in the prop/ combination valve to shut flow to the rear brakes. That's how it's designed to work
Difficult recovery no matter which way you did it and a good result. Tangerine could do with a small clear plexiglass wind breaker across the top of the dash/firewall.
That was a great recovery Matt! To get that giant wrecker through those treacherous dips was nerve wracking, but just highlight your driving skills and knowledge of towing requirements. Tire and axle shaft flew off and left me grinding my way to a stop on the side of the road riding on the backing plate. Still remember watching my axle shaft and tire role past me! Fun times, needless to say a Dana 44 with Superior axle shafts and a spool solved that problem forever!

I'm sure you've got a plan, and I'm sure you've seen BSF recovery's rig. But, you need some sort of spreader bar to keep the dead truck from swinging forward into the wrecker. good job on a tricky recovery though

There *HAS* to be some kind of draw bar setup that can be made for that wrecker to make the braking less of an issue on the vehicle being towed.
Like the hook and sling that wreckers used to have before cars came with plastic "bumpers"
I wonder if a adjustable bar (pin and holes) and two ring hitches one on each end. Then a pintle hitch in the receiver of each vehicle that would stop it from smashing into each other. Along with the winch holding it up
I have thought the same thing since all these channels have started this wrecker trend.
Need a rear dolly they can put the car in with remote braking that Matt can do from inside the wrecker
The military uses tow bars. Not sure why this has NOT been implemented with the off road wrecker scene yet for this exact reason!
I still think there should be a Peanut cam ! I enjoy the dogs offroading skills.
That would be something really interesting to watch!✌🐢

I hope everyone has a merry Christmas and a happy holidays
Yeah, kind of a click-baity title. Not at all necessary for this channel, if every video was titled "We did a thing" people would still watch lol.
Maybe a screen in the cab and a camera on the boom? Might break quiet a few cameras but I don’t see how it could make things anymore difficult
Man the comment section has become so toxic. I guess when you have so many views, some of them are gonna be complete A-holes. Nice work as usual Matt. ✌️🇺🇸👍
Yes it’s a shame...✌️
I'm sure you've got a plan, and I'm sure you've seen BSF recovery's rig. But, you need some sort of spreader bar to keep the dead truck from swinging forward into the wrecker. good job on a tricky recovery though
Just think how hard this would have been without that wrecker. That's the best thing you have ever built.
