Absolutely love mine. Haven't sent it this hard but it's nice to see what it can do! ARRMA is on a roll this year. I've put around 18 packs through it and have had no issues so far (all in power and rocky dirt) and I've wrecked it more than I'd like to admit 😅
Got one and noticed that the adjustable links up front have bump stops on the inside. They prevent the end points from being set too far out and stop the car from oversteering on hard hits. Seems like a nice way to save servos and drive cups/shafts. Hadn't seen that before, really appreciate the feature as a less knowledgeable driver. Really appreciate your videos, too, they are so complete and helpful. Happy New Year!
Greg, your videos are the best! I enjoy many other RC youtubers but I consider you the benchmark. I knew I liked this car but I wasn't going to move on it until I saw you review it. Reasons why I respect your channel so much.... - Lots of close up shots on details - You cover aspects / features that many others miss - A bit of background music but not over powering - You don't stretch the videos too long just to get more adverts in - You do decent running shots, testing it but not smashing it up like an idiot. - You just seem like a nice bloke Keep up the good work buddy!
I was off to a rough start today, but you just turned it around and made my day, thank you! I appreciate what you said and it’s literally my mission spelled out. I have no desire to push products on anyone. Just inform fellow enthusiasts like me to help them make the right decisions. I am one of the few that has the opportunity to do it as a profession so I take it seriously. This truck was truly a blast for me. I might have been a bit swayed because I used to love racing SC8’s and this reminded me so much of it, but they did build a nice truck. Lots of people watched me push this truck and have so much fun with it. So happy to hear the videos help! Have a great day my friend!
@rcdriver Well I'm glad you appreciated the feedback mate. You put a lot of effort into the videos so you deserve the credit. As a 49 year old bloke who only got into RC 2 years ago, I've fallen in love with the hobby but neither the Mrs or anyone else near to me is really into it (maybe our often wet UK weather doesn't help) so your videos are like meeting up with a virtual mate in the pub to chat about RC 😀 Of my 9 cars so far, 5 are after reviews you've done and this Mojave will soon be added to the fleet. All the best dude 👍
I run two 7000mah 3S lops in parralel for 14000mah of run time. I also bought a pint if liquid rubber, and mixed 2 bags of resin/fiberglass shavings in it, use a paintbrush to apply in the undernody where the lexan seperates from the plastic, havent seperated yet.
There’s a few times I lawn darted it pretty harsh and no problems. Unfortunately the video wasn’t useable of the crashes or it would have been in this.
I have the 6s Mojave and have to say it has been anything but tough. The cheap Spektrum, transmitter broke and the ESC would overheat. The motor failed and it really did not like the UK, wet weather. The bearings were not rubber sealed and just could not take even damp conditions. What frustrated me most was the strength of the threadlock meant it was a fight to get it apart to maintain it. I did hang in there, added a Futaba radio set, Max 6 Combo and replaced all the bearings. it is good to drive, although I only dare do it in the dry, which is rare. The 4S looks like many of the lessons from the 6S have been used to make it a good truck. Despite those drain holes, I am sceptical about its wet weather credentials. I have enjoyed my cheap 1/16 HBX Pro, more than the Arrma. Nice review though, Greg.
Yea and the rubber sealed bearings cost less than shielded unsealed bearings. Why do they even exist in rc vehicles ? Planned obsolescence...sell ya more bearings!
I'm coming to the conclusion that the 1/10th on up scale RC's are not worth running anywhere near any grit or moisture. After one, mild run, my 1/8th Kraton's rubber 'SEALED' bearing at the center diff locked up with grit. ONE run. That's just not feasible. Also all the steel bits rust from just the dry dirt road....and if it's wet out there...forget it. You have to take these things apart CONSTANTLY. Clean them, check bearings, take seals off, get grit out of the bearings, re-pack them with grease, oil up all the steel bits including screws and on and one and on. You have to disassemble the differentials to even get the bearings off of a lot of RC's to service or replace them. I'm looking at the small RC's and seeing a lot less fuss. Easier to clean up and maintain. Cheaper batteries and parts. Just got a Latrax Teton and shimmed the diffs, along with grade 3 open gear grease. Tiny bearings. Affordable. Going brushless before running it. Tiny Motor sealed shut with set screws dipped in gasket maker silicone. 30a hobbywing ESC super waterproof. I think less is more. I'm thinking the little RC's can take the elements better, and be cheaper doing it.
@@Shadows-RCI haven't had those problems with my traxxas slash or stampede after years of abuse, wet winters and snow. I change a wheel bearing or 2 once a year. They can handle the wet and their bearings are alot better than arrmas
The only difference is the center diff 😅 rest is the same..u want tech check out team corally kagama or asuga those r cheaper then most arrmas and way over build for the price tag
I have both the Senton and this Mojave and I can tell you: they are almost nothing alike! Aside from the chassis layout, radio and receiver, and ease of maintenance, they handle completely different. The Mojave's suspension is insanely beefed and the center diff makes a massive difference. I thought it would just be a cracked out Senton, but to be honest it's just a more nimble Mojave 6S
Got this already. Let's talk about the new 1/7th 6s Big Rock Horizon text me about today? I didn't even read the description before placing my order! Can't wait till they start shipping.
Awesome video packed with great information as usual!! Im taking mine out bashing tomarrow! I cant wait. Ive had it over a week and this is the first time I will be able to bash it!
From the videos I've seen if you are going to jump it at all get the Losi, too many of these shocks keep failing or the bodies act weird after a few jumps
There have been a few reviews where the front rubber part of the body has been torn/falls off. Other than that one issue, it's a good contender for one of the best SCTs!
Yeah, mine came off during the hard bashing. I hear the body can be a pain the get off when dirt gets into the chassis/cage holes, but I haven’t encountered it yet. RazorRC said you just need to pull the body up from the center. I’d take a sticking body anytime because that cage is protection.
@@rcdriver yeah, both Do RC and Razor did a good overview of that issue. Do's solution was to make the side holes for the body a little bigger with a drill bit. After that, no problems.
Absolutely love my Mojave 4s! I did however have to swap out the provided SLT radio system. It kept cutting in and out of signal, I tried re-binding and factory resetting the ESC with no success. Luckily a have few DX3’s kicking around and everything worked great after that!!
@@rcdriver no im talking that loud noise under heavy throttle like jumping it drives me crazy was glad to hear yours doing it to me its like the bearing isnt holding it well enough
Totally sick of these truck style releases, they are so boring looking! A great performing truck with zero personality. I wish Tamiya could design the styling and personality and Arrma could do the engineering.
Yea just cram those gears directly into the track on the first jump,,,,Those exposed gears will be toast before the end of the first pack. Sorry but that just blows me away!
The opening under the gear is a concept that has literally been done for decades. The chances of something getting into the gears on a landing is extremely rare. However if it was blocked off, the chances of something getting stuck between the gear and chassis from the top is highly likely. It is blocked off on their other 4x4’s and people were actually drilling the holes to let debris out. They just did it for you on this kit.

I don't want to need this truck, but I need this truck. This design deserves to sell.

Man I seriously wish I had access to a track, that just looks like so much fun😃
Perfect super detailed review as always👌🤘
What are the dimensions of these tires? I have a Typhon Mega that I crammed a 775 motor in, looking for some slightly bigger tires to put on it.
Once again. Thank you for awesome video. Do you think this is a good truck to race on a dirt track? You looked liked you were having a lot of fun.
I think so. It reminded me of racing SC8’s years ago. Lots of driving concentration to get fast laps in.
The body looks great👌

I can't decide between this or it's bigger 1:7 scale brother... both tough RC trucks.
Great review as always!
I really enjoy your reviews
Is 3S enough for this truck? Don't want to have to buy/stock 4S batteries if I don't need to. I have lots of 3S packs...
We need a TLR TUNED version

Damm. This looks and drives better than the 1/7 scale. Will get it soon

Great video thank you!
I can hear a lot of vibration..... in the air when the wheels are spinning ??
When is your Outcast 8S video coming out?
Hopefully Saturday. It’s in the editing stage.
Greg, would the body fit on the blx version? Looks smaller in the video. Thanks.
I wished they'd bring a kit version ❤
It’s both great vids bro🔥🔥🔥
i got the 6s since it was selling cheaper than 4s. do you recommend getting 4s on top of 6s?
Is it better than the Baja Rey 2.0
For racetrack use, mojave 4s or maxx slash ?
How would you compare it with the new tekno sct ? I really don't know what to buy now.
I'm going to get one of these 😊

I don’t have one. But the guy Dean that helps me on the channel sometimes got one for his daughter and they love it.

is it exb
Oh man this one is calling my name.
Slt2 radio? No dx3?
mine makes that same noise have you figured out what it is seems like center driveshaft flopping around

Did the body get stuck?
Yes, I mentioned the body got stuck.
whats with the servo that sets to 7.4V even though it's 7.2V
Nice
I can’t wait for mine to come in!! I ordered it a few days ago
Epic
Axial does it, Arrma does it....."drivers", first thing I do before the first run is to remove them
Just a 1/8 Sct rather than a true desert racer? Prefer the more realistic live rear like the udr or baja rey
Idk, man. Ive seen some not so great reviews.
Calling the Mojave a desert truck is pushing it.
Over priced. For the same price I’ll get another typhon 6s
