One comment regarding the Arrma 4s Mojave. It’s the smoothest and mechanically quiet r/c short course truck I’ve ever run. I believe Traxxas makes fantastic r/cs. I own a the UDR and Slash and can’t find fault with either platforms. Great comparison video. You can’t go wrong with just about any r/c choice these days. We hobbyists are quite fortunate.
That's why I watch your channel. These Arrma or everybody but Traxxas fan boys are childish as hell. If i don't like the price, I buy what's within my budget. Buy, run and enjoy what you like. Wasted energy trying to get someone else to hate Traxxas. It's a great platform and so is the ARRMA.
I love Traxxas vehicles, I really like what I'm seeing with this new Maxx Slash, and one of my favorite trucks I've ever driven was my friend's XRT. But what's "childish" is spending $200 more to do the same thing. Whether it's in your budget or not. The 4S Mojave is just as tough, almost just as fast (or easily can be), handles better, and is $200 less. The Maxx Slash is definitely a badass truck. I'm probably gonna buy one regardless of price (like most of us), but comparing it to it's competition, it's overpriced for what you get. That's all we're saying
All fanboys are childish, they're blinding themselves to two realities: 1) the mistakes their favorite company makes 2) the good things that the competition does Fanboys are unrealistic and it's embarrassing that grown men (or women) get so obsessed about a company that isn't their friend and isn't perfect.
I really like your unbiased views on RC stuff. You look at the rigs themselves and not the brand name. We like what we like! I have tons of Arrmas and tons of Traxxas rigs and I like each for different reasons. Thanks again for what you do!
The Arrma 4s vehicles have plastic drive trains. The machined steel gear drivetrain, beefier electronics, and belted tires warrant the price difference. I believe a comparison to the Mojave 6s would be more accurate
The only plastic on the Arrma 4S drivetrain are the CVDs and center driveshaft. And both of which handle 6S power with zero problem. But yeah, the 6S is a better comparison. However won't be as tough because of it's weight (I'm speaking from experience 😂). I think Mojave 6S vs Maxx Slash, I'd go with the Slash But Mojave 4S vs Maxx Slash, I'm going with the Mojave. Does everything the Slash does, handles better, for $200 less
The Arrma 4s drivetrain is metal not plastic other than the cvds and the M Slash has the same for $200 more! There’s nothing on the Maxx Slash other than the wheels that says this is a $700 truck! Plastic hubs and hex’s, cheap shocks, under powered ESC, super weak servo and servo saver (which is why it rolls over so easily)! Not to mention they put 70+ mph on the box when everyone knows it can’t! At least the Mojave does what it’s advertised to do!
You’re welcome to run on my short course in Hoschton Ga. I pre-ordered mine yesterday from Hobby Town in Buford Ga yesterday. Support your local hobby stores! Going to race my buddies new Mojave 4S & a Traxxas UDR. Can’t wait for next Friday when I can pick it up. Great video as always!
Sure thing Chris, can’t wait to run my brand new 4s Mojave up against the Max Slash on the track. It would be awesome to have Jaytee come race the track with us!
Sorry man, the price absolutely matters. Why not compare this to the Mojave 6S, which is ALSO cheaper than the Traxxas and runs the same batteries? This seems like a little copium huff for Traxxas fans.
@Hugo-py2ce Not really. They're about equal in terms of part quality. And the Arrma equivalent to everything Traxxas makes is significantly cheaper in price, more durable, and just as fast. (ie The Slash VXL vs Senton 3S, Hoss VXL vs Granite 3S, Sledge vs Kraton), the Arrmas are tougher, easier to work on, and significantly less money. I will say though: Traxxas 8S is better than Arrma 8S. Arrma 8S are too heavy in comparison and that leads to much more breakage. And Traxxas is slightly justified (like Jaytee said in this vid) to have the bigger price because of the clipless body and part support. But for what you get, they aren't worth it.
I have to say, the Arrma is a better deal. It's just as fast, its durable and you only have one battery to deal with, so that's more money you save. I love my Traxxas rigs, but they are a little too pricy.
Brother. Thank you. Please keep doing what you’re doing. This was the Camparison I was looking for. Great work as usual. My feeling is the arrma is the much better buy although I do love my slash ult.
LOL, just cancelled my Traxxas Maxx Slash order. Did not know about the ARRMA one being this great for much cheaper. I am a traxxas fan, but it really makes no sense to get the Traxxas Short Course at this price 😅
Glad you caught that and cancelled your order, the Mojave 4S is super smooth and much cheaper, You can get the 6S cheaper than the Slash also and it is an absolute beast, It's like the 4S Mojave on steroids. 😁
I'd get the Mojave if i had to choose one. Non parachuting in the air with the body and the fact it achieves the same speed on 4s as the maxx slash does on 6s. Lighter 4s battery is going to be better for bashing. Also the body and scale interior look better than the traxxas.
Arrma bodies crack easier though that's another issue. Like the Gorgon body cracks super easy and its $60 for a new on for a truck that costs $150 lol. Arrma needs to work on their parts pricing and also how they package parts. They need to work on selling individual parts instead of grouping them together.
I'm sorry but this is not a similar comparison. Clearly this was meant to compete with the 6S Mojave which is $649. Traxxas typically releases new vehicles at a higher price for the early adopters. Then usually in a year or less we will see a redution in price. I will guarantee you that this time next year this truck will be $649.
To my knowledge all of the upgrades from the 6s Mojave went into the 4s Mojave. So for all the 6s drivers, will have to wait and see what Arrma does with the new 6s Mojave when it is released.
If you've already got 2 good 3s batteries the Mojave 6s @ $629 should be considered. Mine has been going strong for several years now. No i'm not an Arrma fanboy. I have several Traxx vehicles also.
The week the Maxx slash came out I bought the Mojave 4s and a XRT ultimate spent a little bit more then I wanted to but also glade I live over an hour away from any hobby shops. Still thinking about it but not sure if going to pull the trigger on the Maxx slash.
Nice comparison 👍 although here in uk the price is crazy for the new traxxas, £749 which is approx $940 where as the mojave is £449 which is approx $560 which is vloser to the US prices, unless prices comes down drastically i wont be getting one 😂
I don't know. I'm not particularly a fan of this new slash. It's just alotta corners cut (plastic geared servo ) and a ridiculous price. They got scared by the mojave 4s n crapped this abomination out. I do however think one good thing came from it and that's the inner cage of the body. I am curious if it could be fitted inside a mojave body. But honestly other than that I will take my mojaves all day. I noticed that there's not commendable driving characteristics to the slash either. It just seems stiff n well like a slash lol
When this Maxx Slash came out I thought about your video when you compared the Mojave 6s vs the UDR where you showed how the Mojave handled the turns better than the UDR. I’ve been wanting Traxxas to make a real competition against the Mojave and we finally got it! Now let’s see how this Maxx Slash handles the turns vs the Mojave! 😉
You could put a much faster motor and esc combo in the mojave with the $200 you save, and the mojave has more detail, and a better paint job in my opinion.
You can buy all the slash 6s parts. They are all from other models. With the exception of a few parts. Plus the 6s Mojave is 100$ less than the traxxas. I ordered the traxxas. But I’m probs gonna go arrma. I’ve yet to have a traxxas product that doesn’t break parts first time out on whatever max battery spec is. Arrma not so much, they seem to be built for the higher spec listed on the box. Traxxas always needs another 200$ in parts. Be it 3s or whatever. Arrma just builds a better out the box experience. And I own 4 traxxas vehicles
Hey, we all know that Traxxas is a "Premium" brand so it makes sense that the deep pockets crowd love them... the market in this price range is pretty small these days. Enjoy the price of tires regardless of which you pick
Well said pal. You buy rc cars that suit your budget. I just ordered the Mojave 4s. Almost £200 cheaper than the 6s, and I'm guessing £300-£400 cheaper than the Traxxas - when it gets to the UK. I'm not a fanboy, I have both Traxxas and Arrma cars in my pit, but I think you get more from Arrma than Traxxas for your money.
What cracks me up is traxxas built it's brand being the cheaper ease of your entry-level brand. I'm not sure when this switch in thought happened, but it doesn't make sense to me
I'd like to see a 3 way comparison between the Maxx Slash, Mojave 6s and the Traxxas UDR because it's $50 more than the Maxx Slash. Also, they're all 6s and about the same size.🤓
Less money but 55mph on 4S whereas the MAXX-SLASH needs 6S lipo power to keep up/stay in the same frame? 🤔 And as someone else stated if we're actually comparing PRICE & POWER shouldn't the 6S Mojave be included in this video for under $700? 🤷🏽♂️
Maxx slash is the same price as the sledge and i think it makes sense. I like the Arrma Mojave 4s at $500 but i ain't gonna talk shit on Traxxas pricing their 6s vehicles. Just like i don't go to sit down restaurant and complain about their $12 burgers while In n Out costs $5
I mean, if you're comparing the two, nothing really justifies a $200 price difference when it comes to performance. But, these are two different rigs in different categories. It should've been compared to the the Mojave 6s, which i believe is still cheaper. I do like the looks of the slash, though! I've always loved those Traxxas shocks! But, personally, I'd opt for the Mojave just because from being in the hobby for so long like a lot of us, I have tons of aftermarket electronics to throw in these things. I have learned my lesson with new releases. I wait about 3 months after a release to make up my mind. One, you get to find all of the weak spots. Two, you get tons of reviews from people who purchased the vehicle so you're gonna find out the good stuff 😂
Mojave 4s is an equal comparison to the regular traxxas slash 4x4, always was the competitor. Same width and wheelbase. Same price. The Mojave 6s would be the comparison to the max slash. However arrma still takes the win in that comparison. I'm a losi, tekno, x-ray fan boy though. Can't wait for rlaarlo to get into the bigger scale vehicles!
I think a better comparison would be the 6s exb mojave or normal 6s mojave. Seems like that should be the comparison and i think the 6s mojave exb or normal would be the better option for sure between the 2.
Nothing against the Arrma, it's a great a truck that's been proven. But I'm happy I ordered the Maxx Slash. The belted tires, 6s, and clipless body was a big seller for me!
Traxxas Maxx Slash is a TANK and priced accordingly...i cannot break my Maxx slash and my buddies mojave is always having problems 😂😂😂 sorry but take the shell off and you can see the difference in strength, you basically getting a 70mph slash thats a ultimate Basher aswell so worth every penny!!!
$770 after tax! I'll have to say negative on that..in this economy that's a hefty price tag for most folks. I would Take the Maxx 4s @ $569 before this.
I'd say this: Mojave 6S vs Maxx Slash, I'd take the Slash. Only 70$ more and you get clipless body, belted tires, and a more durable truck. However Mojave 4S vs Maxx Slash, I'd take the Mojave. It's just as tough as the Maxx platform, almost just as fast, handles better, and is easier to work on for 200$ less. The Maxx Slash still being the better overall vehicle, but I wouldn't say worth 200$
Mojave 4S all the way. Traxxas is way over price and not made as durable as Arrma. Traxxas is just to expensive and they almost never have sales like horizonhobby does. Mojave 4S is probably the best RC for the price hands down.
Mine is on the way, and i can't wait. Im going to put it through my everything I can including going for that 70 MPH box speed. Im going to race and take it to the skatepark to see how long it takes to break it. I loved your action video you did on it yesterday BTW!
It looks promising, price is steep, but then again what isn’t steep in the world of RC these days? I still think Arrma could make a Moajave EXB RTR 6s at about $800 ish and that is what I would go for…
Is it possible to get the 7th scale 6S Mojave at the same price as the Maxx slash? If yes the Maxx gets a bit pointless unless you just want something from Traxxas.
Should’ve compared it to the 6s Mojave since traxxas charges so much. Out the box your definitely have to get rid of the traxxas esc already at this price there’s no comparison go with the Mojave 6s way more durable.
I resist Traxxas products because I don't like proprietary batteries. I don't care to cut and solder a new connector and I know that adapters are available. It pisses me off that I'd need to do either that grates on me.
One comment regarding the Arrma 4s Mojave. It’s the smoothest and mechanically quiet r/c short course truck I’ve ever run. I believe Traxxas makes fantastic r/cs. I would agree, if you buy a hobby grade R/C you are getting a great R/C... Everything breaks at some point, just fix and run again!!!! 👍👍
@andyb9994 "at some point". You mean a couple hours after you get home from the hobby shop?
That's why I watch your channel. These Arrma or everybody but Traxxas fan boys are childish as hell. If i don't like the price, I buy what's within my budget. Buy, run and enjoy what you like. Wasted energy trying to get someone else to hate Traxxas. It's a great platform and so is the ARRMA.

I dont think that price is to high for this rig

And it rides better! On the track I think the Traxxas will shine
I think both are awesome trucks , but cant wait for my Maxx slash to arrive! thanks for the video!
Mojave definitely, all around, the slash definitely dont want Mojave 6s
Not for nothing but two hundred dollars cheeper is a huge incentive, at least for me, thanks for the video.
4s to 6s? Apples to oranges?
The Mojave 4s looks like it's more fun car to drive

I'd have to go with a 6S Mojave which is still cheaper than the 6S Slash, Imo the 4S is a better deal also overall...

it’s the worse time for rc. prices are absurd. not even worth it anymore. same with real cars.
@@rushgush That's why I usually only buy used. It's crazy

Hell ya brah great review keep up the good work fam appreciate you!
That Mojave just looks way cooler. Slash design is boring.
Sue me.
Here in sweden the slash is 1000-1100 $ and the Mojave 550 ish. Absolute no brainer to buy the Arrma. Better handling car for half the price.
At price point Traxxas shoulda tossed in the speed gear... I still luv my 6s mohave
Great comparison! Tough choice! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
The maxx slash is a little pricier, butttt for me it's a beast. I just threw in the speed gears and it's mooooves.
Everyone has preference.
Great video 👊
When are you going to do some more crawler videos

Maxx slash is the same price as the sledge and i think it makes sense. I like the Arrma Mojave 4s at $500 but i ain't gonna talk shit on Traxxas pricing their 6s vehicles. Just like i don't go to sit down restaurant and complain about their $12 burgers while In n Out costs $5
Why compare to the 4s ? The 6s is more similar to the maxx slash...or is that video next?
Will the Maxx slash wheels fit on the Mojave without having to alter the stock Mojave body?
They’re only a half inch bigger, so they’ll probably fit fine.
You’ll have to modify the wheel hex though
I mean, if you're comparing the two, nothing really justifies a $200 price difference when it comes to performance. But, these are two different rigs in different categories. You should compare the Arrma Mojave 6s to the Traxxas Maxx Slash 6s. Those would be much better and closer comparison.
It's a nice rig, but I can't see any justification for the high cost. The Arrma with a set of belted tires and hub extensions would b my choice.
with the invent of the clipless body, you think they all would adapt a version of it, body clips are so yesterday!
Wish Traxxas changed the body art work arrma has it down much less toy looking
I have an xmaxx, maxx v2, 4x4 slash, and a mojave 6s. Absolutely no way id pay 700 for that slash. Not big enough to justify that price tag

$770 after tax! I'll have to say negative on that..in this economy that's a hefty price tag for most folks. I would Take the Maxx 4s @ $569 before this.
Most are buying due to FOMO. I say get the maxx and get the slash maxx tires and wheels
Arrma all day. Its cheaper, it looks better, its tougher and handles better!
I'd say this:
Mojave 6S vs Maxx Slash, I'd take the Slash. Only 70$ more and you get clipless body, belted tires, and a more durable truck.
However
Mojave 4S vs Maxx Slash, I'd take the Mojave. It's just as tough as the Maxx platform, almost just as fast, handles better, and is easier to work on for 200$ less. The Maxx Slash still being the better overall vehicle, but I wouldn't say worth 200$
The maxx slash looks to ride/handle more like the Mojave 4s despite weighing the same as a 6s Mojave which is interesting
There will probably be a spec Maxx Slash class.
I wonder why Traxxas didn’t build the sledge on this type of chassis?
Because the sledge took over the revo 2.0
I already have the mojave exb, its a beast and there is no way I'll pay $699 for an rc that doesn't handle even close to as good
Mojave 4S all the way.
Slash !
Traxxas sells sn enlarged/taller battery lid
Great videos 💯 that is the only thing people should be pointing out about your channel...
It looks promising, price is steep, but then again what isn’t steep in the world of RC these days? I still think Arrma could make a Moajave EXB RTR 6s at about $800 ish and that is what I would go for…
Why not compare to 6s to 6s mohave???!?!?!? What!??
It's coming! People going to be mad but it's coming
500 and 700 for a toy ? Really
Tekno better than both
Is it possible to get the 7th scale 6S Mojave at the same price as the Maxx slash? If yes the Maxx gets a bit pointless unless you just want something from Traxxas.
Should’ve compared it to the 6s Mojave since traxxas charges so much. Out the box your definitely have to get rid of the traxxas esc already at this price there’s no comparison go with the Mojave 6s way more durable.
Mojave 6s is cheaper than traxxas as well, they really disappointed me with this one,
I resist Traxxas products because I don't like proprietary batteries. I don't care to cut and solder a new connector and I know that adapters are available. It pisses me off that I'd need to do either that grates on me.
Needs to be compared to the Mojave 6s.
Traxxas is absolutely ridiculous of the majority of their prices. Arrma all the way!
Lol yeah 6s mojave does 63 n won't flip, gear or not that slash with gear never go 70,dude,belted tires are slower lol
People talking about Traxxas lowering prices after awhile 😂😂🤦
Should have put it against the 6s mojave to make a better comparison
Is coming y'all just need to calm down...
Get the arrma big rock instead! Way more stable driving and does 50 on 3s and only 350 bucks
The bottom chassis in the Mojave easily cracks
M2C has a 4S bash bar for the big sends...& it definitely won't cost an additional $200 👌🏽
@@cacanjacowans540 I like both, but I already have a slash ultimate and team associated with upgrades. I always want to buy more🤪
ONLY FAIR comparison is the ARMMA Mojave 6S not the 4S...... Two different class of trucks..........
200 bucks cheaper mojave wins! but if you dont care about money then max slash wins imo
why compare 6s to 4s when you could have compared 6s to the 6s
