@@RideWithQuay yeah Stephen A wylin. Let it go man. Him and Jalen Rose cornering 10% of the oil market with that black goo in they head too. Tell these men it's okay to be old
The issue is not just that, but if you actually listened to Dray's previous podcasts, he was almost disrespecting KD by comparing/weighing the 2 chips they had won with him than if they had won the chip in 2016. He flip-flops depending on which narrative he wants to push. And now that they won another chip and ppl are bashing KD almost everywhere, he's now trying to inflate KD's contributions to the team but at the same time putting Steph down. Knowing how extremely competitive Steph and Klay were, aside from the team and organization as a whole have a lot of pride, I doubt anyone would agree with him, in earnest, that they wouldn't be able to win another one, considering that they were almost one Draymond suspension away from winning that series. And what followed after were just unfortunate series of events- Bogut, Steph, and Iggy injuries (ppl forget that Iggy played through a back injury and was often taken out during games); bad reffing- taking out Steph in the 1st quarter of game 6 with the softest fouls ever in a finals, and even that Dray suspension was suspect as no calls were actually made during the play, only hours after the game after Bron lobbied for his suspension was he magically given a flagrant thus the suspension. tldr: the officials including the commissioner, blatantly rigged the outcome in favor of the Cavs, and the piling injuries just made it worse. The "new media" is not that much different with the old, just different narratives/agenda the players want to push with their own bias. Dray said alot of sh-* in his podcast that the inconsistencies in his statements are now starting to unravel and catch up to him to the point where he's almost contradicting himself.
From college, to the NBA, to podcasting, to ESPN…JJ Redick loves nothing more than to prove the haters wrong by being great at his craft. The Duke fan in me loves to see it 🙌🏼
Wish he'd joined the Warriors and won a chip. He really ended his career abruptly. Think he easily could have played 3 years more with his shooting. Just the season before his last one, shot 45% on almost 7 threes a game and scored 15ppg in 26 minutes. That's about as good as a role player can get.
Yea JJ is a Great analyst espn needs to have him calling some he has potential to be the voice of Basketball Dont be Surprised if Turner Sports Reaches out to JJ To replace Ernie when he retires from inside the NBA JJ Reddick would most definitely be a great hire
JJ’s transition to the media realm from the NBA couldn’t have gone smoother. He’s humble, keeps everyone on point, and just has that natural voice talent and cadence necessary to be successful. Going to be bigger than Pat Mccafee soon.
JJ is a natural. As a basketball fan, I appreciate these gracious transitions from playing the game at the highest level to analyzing the game at the same high level.
The way Dray broke down the evolution of Steph was key. When you go back and watch highlights from 2014-2016, you can see a significant difference in terms of how much bigger and stronger he is now compared to then. Teams that played physical could wear him down in a 7 game series b/c he was primarily finesse back then even as a finisher, which is essentially what Cleveland did and would've cont. doing in 2017. Bringing in KD made it impossible to beat them b/c the one thing that GSW was missing was when teams figured out a way to throw off their offensive timing and run them off their spots, they couldn't score consistently enough in a half court/iso setting. The current version of Steph isn't revolutionizing the game like he did in the back to back mvp years but he's a more dangerous player b/c he's a more complete and versatile scorer.
He’s still just as revolutionary, but the league has players that have little flashes of Steph, including Poole, Tray Young, Lillard, etc. so it seems more “normal”. The league has already been changed by him, and he still came out on top…. without Durant, without a healthy Klay….. because of the reasons you stated. He’s stronger, more durable.
@@18brandon92 I’m just saying from the standpoint of those mvp seasons are often considered his most special b/c he introduced a style that has never been seen before. Today, he has added more conventional elements to his game that have made him even more effective.
@@nikhildevarakonda9295 I understand what you’re saying but there is nothing conventional about what he did to Boston. He made ridiculous shots that didn’t go down in 2016. His physique stronger and more durable, so he can’t get roughed up like he did in the 2016 Finals. Perhaps he mastered his floaters and footwork around the rim and midrange, but he was making And 1’s all day this year, which I don’t remember seeing in the 2016 playoffs. I remember him being roughed up and burnt out.
@@18brandon92 Right, but comparatively speaking, there is a difference in the level of revolutionizing that happened in 2016 to what is happening now. The style of play was so unconventional that the whole league almost changed overnight where traditional bigs, even all star caliber ones(I.e. Roy Hibbert) became unplayable. Teams were forced to adapt to a faster paced, spacing style just to play the numbers games. The 3pt attempts by teams in the following seasons increased exponentially. So, while Steph is playing an incredibly high level(even higher than 2016 as we both stated) he’s doing more conventional things albeit at an unconventionally high level. As a result, we are not going to see that extreme of a shift in play style across the league next season like we did in the immediate aftermath of his mvp years.
Also, every Team Draymond mentioned as a threat, he is not afraid of. The Team you didn't mention, is the Team you afraid of Draymond. You afraid of the Suns bro. You know its the truth. You know if the Suns play their best you can't beat us.

Hearing Draymond talk about , he know if he went into the Game 2 and bully them , that would set the tone & mindset for his team and then & it wouldn’t matter if he wasn’t in the game . PURE GENIUS

Draymond breaking down the KD championship perspective is exactly what he means about the "new media". Had a perfect opportunity to slander KD but gave that man his flowers. Gave a good basketball analysis on why KD was needed.

This is such an amazing live, JJ you're such a great host! Great tempo, never lost the plan for the show, but flexible with where things need to progress organically and bring things back on course, seamless transitions.
I was there yesterday and it was a great show. The one thing I’d add in regards to Dray proclaiming that JJ was the start of the new media, is JJ’s ability to be transparent about multiple eras of basketball. A famous quote from The Wire “the thing about the old days, they the old days”. Often in society previous generations love to be bias about their time and refuse to be open minded to change. This was brought up on the show but JJ is probably one of the first to have the platform to be brutally honest about all eras of basketball. And to be fair Gilbert Arenas has been vocal about that too but doesn’t say it in a way that’s digestible to specific platforms lol but shoutout to JJ he truly has been a gem in the podcast/basketball media space.
Gilbert Arenas isn't credible. And being disrespectful about the eras before doesn't add points. Besides his originally weak Giannis take, he's exceptionally on point but he's not the first of "new media" nor is Draymond
I agree I’ve always found it weird that people want to cling to these players from 40-60 years ago as the best thing the NBA has ever produced. Like you can respect them and still think the players that have come later on are better
Facts, it goes even beyond basketball in regards to the past. Our mind/body wants to be calm/happy and we are built to have pleasant memories in state of recollection. I mean when you don't it's called trauma which can cause stress. So thinking about the things in the past objectively is a hella flawed in most situations. Phrases like make america great again...or back in my day people weren't this bad etc etc bring ppl comfort.
That could/should have gone on for another hour, and I would have loved every second. Awesome stuff - and shout out Stephen A, respect for getting involved.
I LISTEN to both JJ & Draymond’s podcast every week but I knew I had to WATCH this on RUclips. OUTSTANDING!!!!! My only disappointment-as a huge Warriors fan- was it didn’t happen in the Bay Area so I could attend. Love you guys both on & off the court!!❤

In just a few months of me seeing JJ on ESPN and now here, dude should legit have his own tv show. He’s got a vibe that would make for a good late night sports talk show with a guest or two. In the style of the late night talk shows but with sports in mind.
Who would of guessed how GREAT JJ has been for the basketball media world?! Not only is his podcast top notch, when hes on air he brings something others dont. A real competitive edge , a great player whos been through it all. You tell it how it is and I love it. Keep up the work!
@@lk5388 guarantee they would’ve argued for a few minutes then started to talk trash and get along with each other. Y’all really convinced they hate each other or somethin😂
kendrick Perkins is not qualify here, he's not at the same level of Draymond of communication, I don't know why ESPN hired him to be an NBA analyst, all his talks, speak and communication are still in the hood, he needs to change the way he talks cuz it embarrassed to him on the TV and Draymond knows how to get it out of you...
Draymond will have an awesome post-NBA career as a basketball analyst. He knows the game... is as funny as Charles Barkley...and has 4 Championships which he actually contributed to winning!
Such an incredible collaboration. Two of my favorite players and podcasts. This was a treat to watch, especially the cameo from Stephen A. Long live the new media.

He has a good one with Jimmy Butler after Butler left Philly for Miami. Not sure if it's under the same channel or back when his podcast was part of Bill Simmons/The Ringer conglomerate, whatever that channel is.

If only his cohort could have thought of the receipt punchline. Would've been good timing. Instead he just sat there and didn't say really anything

I'm all for JJ and current or ex players creating their own new media and experience. Mad props, this is what we need and want as fans. Just real conversations face to face looking at the game from multiple angles. Much love!
Hearing Draymond talk about , he know if he went into the Game 2 and bully them , that would set the tone & mindset for his team and then & it wouldn’t matter if he wasn’t in the game .
PURE GENIUS
You can tell he studies Rodman. Hell also get a foul and a tech and give the other team a 6 point swing and somehow that energizes his team

Bro I use to think he was bearable when paired w. Stephen A., imo Shannon and Skip are exactly the same, all rarara no actual knowledge in BBall. However Shannon on football is incredible and I can see why he was an amazing player in his time.

Draymond breaking down the KD championship perspective is exactly what he means about the "new media". Had a perfect opportunity to slander KD but gave that man his flowers. Gave a good basketball analysis on why KD was needed.

The Constant Subtle Shots At Skip Are Hilarious😂😂😂
This lowkey was probably the dopest basketball podcast i've ever seen.. so organic and chill, JJ is a natural along with up and coming media super star Draymond and the goat making an appearance in SAS! well done guys!!
Knuckleheads & all the smoke is better
@@felix3033 I’m saying the combination with JJ draymond and SAS , along with a little crowd in newyork.. it was chill to see
The same feeling!👌
Tommy getting peer pressured into drinking is hilarious. He sees dray drink, he's like oh yea. i got wine next to me
Well, what else is he going to do up there? Ask questions?
Thought I was the only one that noticed it 😭
Read your comment and immediately started noticing it😂
EVERY time 🤣
But draymond ran out of wine faster than him and he stopped drinking like halfway through the episode.
Draymond "the reality is" Green. Awesome interview.

I love how JJ stayed quiet when Draymond speaks about skip. He's trying to secure the 💰🤣
Lmao yeah dray already have the 💰 with inside the nba.
DRAWING STEPHEN CURRY... | IT'S HERE ON THE CHANNEL !!!!!!!!
Noticed the same
I was there yesterday and it was a great show.
So cool to see players in this intimate format being so authentic.

Oh my good ESPN should totally do a Late Night with JJ Reddick, guests are current and former nba players

Kendrick would have been buried and released from espn if he showed up. Draymond would have unloaded on him.

kendrick Perkins is not qualify here, he's not at the same level of Draymond of communication, I don't know why ESPN hired him to be an NBA analyst, all his talks, speak and communication are still in the hood, he needs to change the way he talks cuz it embarrassed to him on the TV and Draymond knows how to get it out of you...
