2 things I've learned from this segment: Jimmy Butler is a cool dude that was misrepresented by the media and JJ Redick will be a great NBA coach one day
@bullsi20 exactly the fact he pushed his teammates speaks for his character in so many positive ways and the complete opposite for those team mates if Jimmy don't fwu you not working hard enough
As a bulls fan I love Jimmy g Derrick rose and jokim and of course Deng so I'm a bit bisis on how butler and the rest of them act but then again they all played under thibs
He mentions that he doesn't like being controlled but likes that military style of hard training. There is a difference between instilling discipline, and values vs straight telling how a grown man should act. Love me some Jimmy Buckets
He enjoys working hard and discipline. People wrongly believe that military style is about someone shouting and controlling, when it's about preparing people and making sure they're at their best to perform when time comes.
I'm glad Tyler Herro gets to learn from this guy. All around smart, well spoken business man who tells it like it is and knows how to compete on the court.
I come here every now and then, even 3 years later and have come to the same realization every time that Jimmy is as real at it gets. Everything he has said in this video holds true today: i.e: his relationship with Bam, coach Spo, Herro, telling Duncan to shoot his shots, even cultural stuff. Here we are 3 years later at another Jimmy Butler playoff special, about to make the 2nd finals appearance in 4 years, can't say anything except that no one embodies the underdog better than Jimmy Butler and no one shows greatness like he does.
Derrick Rose in his book "I'll show you" agreed with everything Jimmy Butler said about Towns and Wiggins in Minnesota. It also puts rumors to rest that he and Jimmy had beef because they never did. Jimmy and Noah got into one major argument but Noah spent his entire career yelling and snapping at his teammates and staff. JJ Reddick before the season started said Jimmy was one of the best teammates her ever had. That I know of, Pau Gasol, D. Wade, Taj Gibson, Joel Embid, Jeff Teague, TJ McConnell, JJ Reddick, D. Rose, and more have all publicly testified to how great a guy Butler is as a teammate. At some point you have to wonder if the media makes up lies about him just to paint him a certain way. The entire Bulls behind scenes crew was taken care of by Butler. Millions on them.
@@BC_E91 2014 and 2015. They would of beat Lebronn that year had not Pau got hurt in game 2. Remember? They even had a name for the alley oop Pau kept throwing Jimmy so much. PBnJ.

@Bill Blass not "they" but D Rose and Butler. D Rose said in his book that Wiggins and Towns shouldn't have gotten so much money when they hadn't accomplished anything yet. Said that KAT was gifted and a generational talent but that he almost never saw him in the gym and felt the same as Butler that he didn't really care about winning as much as others did. He kind of criticized himself too because he said that KAT is too quiet just like himself but also said that is why the T Wolves have no leader on the team . He said back in Chicago Noah assumed the role of leadership because of his quietness but there was no leader on the T Wolves and so no one to hold them accountable as a teammate. He didn't really mention Wiggins as much other than to say he and Kat shouldn't have gotten such big contracts. He did also criticize Butler on the whole practice scandal when he beat the starting 5 using 3rd stringers. He said he was right but wrong to do it the way he did.
Even as a Sixers fan if I were in Jimmys shoes I would have left in FA too. Brett Brown has 0 clue how to run an offense and the front office has no control, 0 culture
I remember few seasons ago all the other coaches with great records got fired while Brett brown gets a contract extension for having the worst record. 😂😂😂😂
I get it but they were like a shot away from winning a championship. Bucks weren't ready either way and warriors were hurt. Game 7 down to the last shot against a great team.

Jimmy Butler is smarter and cares more than his GMs, coaches, and teammates at his previous teams. They cared more about their ego, being comfortable, and being in control than capitalising on and matching Jimmy’s qualities. Mentok 302 you don't see much to back it up? Have you seen him play ever ?😂 least once a game someone gets laid out from a screen, you just mad at Adams and baynes for another reason if I had to guess , complexion issues ?
Mentok 302 watch any scuffles where Adams is trying to break up a fight, he literally pushes guys away with one hand. Also it's on record he sets the hardest screens by other players. He's just not an idiot so people don't see him getting in stupid fights or arguments like Pat Beverley.

Jimmy is real and what we all wish we can be at work. Employers hate his type bc they want people to be yes men and fall in line. We need more people like Jimmy who isn't afraid to sugarcoat things. Even Jack Welch encourages candor.
This aged very well. I’m all on board with Butler. I had no idea how thoughtful this guy was. It’s very easy to see a guy with all the physical gifts to buy into the negative stuff about his personality. It’s sometimes annoying to see people so well rounded but jimmy’s legit. So authentic. Great interview by JJ.
Roy Garza yup culture and leadership. Teams at the bottom haven’t get it. That’s why I’m confused on why Hornets was so bad since MJ Bulls had one of the best culture and leadership from coaching to player.
I wish we had one of those 1 year later type interviews after the success Jimmy and the Heat had before the stoppage and the bubble and making it to the finals. Would've been pretty great
I probably started following jimmy about two years ago, he’s one of the funniest, most entertaining, and the realest grown man out there. One of my fav athletes just cause he’s him and so funny
This is exactly why Wade told him he was built for Miami. It may have taken a little while to get down here but good lord has this era of Heat/Butler basketball been a fucking blast to watch.
Men (especially black men) who are independent, not afraid to speak their minds, and dont always follow lock-step with how everyone else think/ act/feel will always be vilified.
I can see why Pat Riley (who has seen, played with, coached, or was the GM of a lot of GREAT players) loves Jimmy Butler already. He shoots from the hip and doesn’t mince words. Speaks his mind, and sounds like a cool dude who wants to WIN really bad !
I still remember when Jimmy Buckets carried the bulls to the playoffs in that 2016-2017 season. He always represented the Bulls as a winner and whenever the Bulls aren’t playing the Heat, you better believe I’m rooting for his team to win the championship.
3 thing i learned after the finals and watching this podcast: Jimmy Bulter is a winner and will do anything to win, 2nd he is not afraid to call you out if he dosen't think your doing your best ,and third the media creates narratives about him being a ''bad teammate'' when all he was doing was trying to win a chip

Steven Adams should be on that list. Be he's just a really nice guy.
I hear this all the time, but don't see much to back it up? It feels like a cosmetic thing. Nobody was calling him Billy Badass before he grew a beard and got some ink. Somehow GOT came out and all of a sudden Adam's and Baynes are the baddest dudes in the L
@@mentok3027 These guys are strong mate, its not a cosmetic thing for sure
Mentok 302 you don't see much to back it up? Have you seen him play ever ?😂 least once a game someone gets laid out from a screen, you just mad at Adams and baynes for another reason if I had to guess , complexion issues ?
Mentok 302 watch any scuffles where Adams is trying to break up a fight, he literally pushes guys away with one hand. Also it's on record he sets the hardest screens by other players. He's just not an idiot so people don't see him getting in stupid fights or arguments like Pat Beverley.
@@RoYaLLeGiiTHD I'm a white dude with a beard and hair past my shoulders. I look similar aside from being about half a foot shorter. I've seen them both play plenty. Celtics fan. I just always see them both brought up like clockwork whenever the tough guy thing is brought up. It feels like it has more to do with appearance than substance. I'm not saying they're weak or anything, far from it. It just feels like a stereotype to me at this point.
This is one of the best nba talks I listened to. I learned so much just from this one podcast with JJ and Jimmy.
ive watched this like 5 times, best podcast ive seen
Jimmy is real and what we all wish we can be at work. Employers hate his type bc they want people to be yes men and fall in line. We need more people like Jimmy who isn't afraid to sugarcoat things. Even Jack Welch encourages candor.
This aged very well. I’m all on board with Butler. I had no idea how thoughtful this guy was. It’s very easy to see a guy with all the physical gifts to buy into the negative stuff about his personality. It’s sometimes annoying to see people so well rounded but jimmy’s legit. So authentic. Great interview by JJ.
These were two good friends having a genuine conversation.
"I know a place where villains are welcome "
“Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet, be there or be square” LMFAOOOOOO THIS MAN PLUGGED MARK’S CHEVY DEALERSHIP FR FR
What a a great Finals series. Jimmy and the Heat played their hearts out, and nothing but love for them!!
Aged like a fine wine, Jimmy knew Herro could ball.
Chicago, Minnesota and Philly all have good players, but it’s well-structured organizations like Miami that do the most winning
Roy Garza yup culture and leadership. Teams at the bottom haven’t get it. That’s why I’m confused on why Hornets was so bad since MJ Bulls had one of the best culture and leadership from coaching to player.
Miami has had plenty of mediocre years
Philly was a last second shot away from going to the ECF last year.... Remember that gm 7 Kawaii shot..... Minny was legit until Jimmy got hurt.
Angelo Amon needs a better coach
Turk because Lebron leaves teams talentless and no assets because teams he plays for gives up so much in order to build a team around him.
Chicago got love for you too, Jimmy.
This never finna be spoken on by ESPN
It probably will, they ain't got much to talk about
@@dydurr6583 nah, its real. ESPN wants generic, fake crap
Loved this one, it was like a chop up with a friend vibe, JJ and Jimmy just had this convo that was real. Definitely subscribing.
I wish we had one of those 1 year later type interviews after the success Jimmy and the Heat had before the stoppage and the bubble and making it to the finals. Would've been pretty great
Loved this interview. Wish they would have asked about his tenure with the Timberwolves. Or even the fight between Embiid and Kat.
Bryan Hidalgo there’s an older episode w jimmy where he talks more about minnesota
Yeah, I was waiting on them to touch on that subject

Slim when he said he was a number 3 pick 😂 slim I laughed for real 😳 when he corrected it and said I was really the number 30 pick 😂
23:33 is where the 76ers talk starts. Thereal reason we're here
You’re the real mvp
True but honestly the rest is good content too. I enjoyed it
👍
airmcnair06 thanks bro
airmcnair06 real shit smh 😂😂😂 get rid of Brett Brown Ctfu REAL SHIT if you was in question of gettin rid of em dis is Factual dis all you need to see
maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan this interview just hits diff now 🔥
Jimmy has a winning attitude , that’s why he feels comfortable in Miami cuz everybody works and everybody wanna win
"He's Batman... So I like him." .... Truer word, Jimmy Buckets! LOL
I have so much respect for Jimmy, such a great guy.
Jimmy got the break he was asking for.
I probably started following jimmy about two years ago, he’s one of the funniest, most entertaining, and the realest grown man out there. One of my fav athletes just cause he’s him and so funny
I'm so glad that Miami got Jimmy because he fits their system and how they run an organization
13:30 as a Bulls fan , this warmed my heart....#JimmyGBuckets
Jimmy rocking those dope red puma suede's. Good guy. Enuff said.
Who else is PISSED that we won't be able to see TJ Warren vs Jimmy Butler soon??💀
On God
LMFAO, I forgot smh.
Me !!! Was supposed to be at the game Friday
Jimmy would smoke that fool
You just reminded me 😭😭😭😭
This is exactly why Wade told him he was built for Miami. It may have taken a little while to get down here but good lord has this era of Heat/Butler basketball been a fucking blast to watch.
Jimmy is the best nba personality off the court, would be amazing playing with him...he is cut from that early 2000’s cloth
Did my boy JJ just admit to smoking that gas. Even more respect for the duke boy haha
Call Me Krozz have you seen his sleeve? That man for sure has hood tendencies

Fantastic interview, great inside of the lockeroom, we want more!
Damn
Ur like a black white guy to me 😂😂😂 j.j face was hilarious
He loved it 😆

I wanted to hear the Minnesota practice story lol
Duane he already talked about it though
He talked about in his first Redick porcast
Hey JJ. Great podcast. Your my favorite player of all time. You inspire me to work hard to make it to the nba.
Keep working hard and taking care of your body, brother. Good luck on realizing your dreams!
This is one cool ass podcast interview!!!🔥🔥
00:55 Lol JJ blushing so hard when Jimmy calls him a black white guy
Jimmy’s personality reminds me a lot of Anthony Mackie’s having watched interviews with both of them recently
Michael Dayton wow they have a similar tone and dialect as well, nice catch
I think that anthony mackie thinks that he’s funny. He makes a lot of jokes that don’t land. I honestly can’t see any similarities besides tone
One of the most enjoyable interviews ive seen. Didnt even realise an hour had passed

MJ definitely Proud of his favorite kid JB low key.
Anybody watching this after the Heat are up 3-0 to the Bucks? hits a lil different
Now two up on Boston. Very great chance they in the finals this year! Lakers v Heat I reckon. Will be a great series.
I love how this vid is suddenly relevant again.
Sixers the season is officially over. Time to fire Brett Brown.
realitycheck 111 fired? what
he’s talking about how you have the grammar of a 5 year old.

Awesome video and even better man. The interview is so much better now that he's made it to the ship.
This guy is may favorite player now. Very direct. Smart. Bold. Hard worker. It’s teams with no structure that he cannot deal with and they can’t deal with him letting them know.
