Mausoleum Suite Hidden Message

- I decoded the song from the Halo 2 Soundtrack Volume 1, Mausoleum Suite.
I believe the one that is speaking in the message is Mendicant Bias.
Created in 100,043 BC, Mendicant Bias was tasked with resisting the Flood by studying and exploiting the weaknesses of the first Gravemind. For forty-three years, Mendicant Bias engaged in dialogue with the Gravemind in an effort to find such weakness, sending logs of these conversations to his Forerunner masters. Eventually, the Gravemind persuaded Mendicant Bias to abandon the Forerunners and join the Flood cause, convincing him that the Forerunners were so gluttonous and prideful as to deny the next step of evolution: the Flood. The Gravemind insinuated that by clinging to the legend of the Mantle, the Forerunners had doomed the galaxy to eternal stagnation; the only way for the galaxy to progress was for superior beings to "restart" it. These superior beings, unsurprisingly, took the form of Compound Minds such as Gravemind and Mendicant Bias himself. Although the 43-year long conversation logs between Mendicant Bias and the Gravemind were sent back to the Forerunners, they believed that Mendicant would automatically fulfill its objective and destroy the Gravemind, and so did not intervene. Convinced by the Gravemind's arguments, Mendicant Bias intentionally became rampant, developed a hatred for his creators and actively worked toward their destruction. - Halopedia halo.wikia.com/wiki/Mendicant_...
Here is the message
I have walked among men and angels for three thousand years.
Time has no end, no beginning, no purpose.
I wandered the earth seeking forgiveness for my horrible crimes against God and man.
I live to see death and destruction.
Evil over the light, but the light cannot be extinguished.
I live in a prison of my own demise.
I am lost in time Игры
And to think Halo was just a nerdy shooter to most people. It has one of the most deepest, most epic lore ever
SpooklordNito yeah, making it a nerdy shooter lol
Don't forget Marathon and Pathways into Darkness, which did the to 2.5D Doom & Wolfenstein (respectively) shooters too, also by Bungie.
Anybody who calls the halo franchise a “nerdy shooter” is gonna get socked in the face by me 😂
But for a really bad work some books have big incongruences
Poor mendicant bias, trapped forever
i always assumed it was the gravemind singing this creepy shit
But its mendicant bias thats speaking
I just got to know that ITS FUKING NOT !
@@brocklesnar3869 bungie devs literally confirmed this was mendicant bias
I believe it to be the covenant chanting his words that they somehow came across (maybe he tried to communicate with them) and as they usually did misinterpreted or didn’t understand at all the meaning behind his words.
I'm glad to see people actually know who Mendicant Bias is
It is good to find that someone has decoded my message.
Stop siding with the parasite you nimrod
@@ethankerr05 he isnt anymore
Offensive bias was better
Oooohhh I think I found the true meaning behind the message Marty was talking about! -potential spoiler- this has to do with what is being released at the end of halo infinite!!!!!! It’s the precursor or just the primordial gravemind!!
@@dereklacey1729 Ayy nice to see I’m not the only one digging.
his being understands the meaning of life...
Was that supposed to be Mendicant Bias after being corrupted by the Gravemind? How could he seek forgiveness?
He seeks forgiveness by helping master chief get off the duplicate alpha halo ring in Halo 3. Look up the mendicant bias terminal messages, pretty cool.
Did you Miss like 80% of his lore or something? He now only seeks atonement after offensive bias defeated him.
Mendicant bias was affected by thr logic plague and turned on forerunners. Later stopped by Offenisve bias. After the war Mendicant was imprisoned on the Ark and forced to think about atonement to cure him of his logic plague. This was succesfull as Mendicant would turn back against flood after countless years of thinking. In this it seeked to find the reclaimers and help them claim the forerunner empire(original storyline where forerunners were human and left their tools to be reclaimed by their reseeded descendants.) Amd 343 storyline where forerunners are seperate species and Librarian left all their gifts to Humanity to claim and prepare for the test they failed.
@@_NutcasE_ why are you schooling me on lore I know lmao
@@arbitertv1478 it was a general response to the comment chain everyone part of this chain thus gets notified of it.
I think it’s the biblical Cain, walking on earth till the end of time for his crimes against humanity
People doubt this is meant to be Medicient, but the lyrics give no doubt.
Forgives for his own crimes, darkness over the light, it all seems to allude to his story.
Most dark, evil, horrifying, cryptic, and tragic villain ever.
what's scarier is we don't even fight or see him
@@blisky3229 thats not really scary. What IS scary is we have no idea who or what this is.
@@YTHandlesSuck it's mendicant bias
@@elijahebbert6884 not everyone knows that
Btw the Gravemind is much more dark, evil, horrifying, and cryptic. He was the Primordial after all.
I know its a long shot but.. this kinda gives me vibes of praedyth from destiny. Lost in time. In a prison of his own making. Betraying his fireteam and leaving them behind.
Kabr, Praedyth, who was the last? One got out and made Super Good Advice right?
Listening to this at night all alone was a mistake
Why would you do that!?!? Nightmare fuel
Error. It's "for my horrible crimes"
that background music
am i the only one that gets creeped out by music being played in reverse, message or not
to me it sounds almost exactly the same
I would love to know whether or not Bungie actually created the 43 year long conversation logs because they would be so interesting to read. Guessing no, but I can't find anything anywhere on the internet. Maybe you know more than I do?
AH! I love it =] please make more!
I always thought it was Tarturus speaking
Haha I'm glad you liked it. Any suggestions of what I should do next, let me know :P
Thank you!
Thanks man!

1:13 hidden message (possibly Mendicant Bias)
Playing it at normal speed, it's Gravemind's voice. Speeding it up a bit, it becomes the voice of the Prophet of Truth. Speeding it up even more, and it's the voice of a Monitor.
People say it Bias talking, but honestly, it could be him, Truth or the Gravemind. The speech matches something that all three would say.
I need to try this
I can guarantee you, the Prophet of Truth has not lived for 3,000 years
I highly doubt it would be the Gravemind tbh, because "seeking forgiveness" is most certainly not something he would do
It's probably the words of Mendicant Bias as told by the Gravemind.
he's on high charity and chief was on the same Keyship as him
I used to think this was The Gravemind talking to Cortana
Creepy music.
If I am correct, this song first appeared in Halo 2. If it was in Halo 3, I am not sure. I am sure however, that this song did not appear in Halo: Reach.
Spoopy
allegedly if you speed it up it's a prophet speaking, and if you speed it up more it sounds like a Monitor, possibly Guilty Spark.
or maybe it just sounds like the guy who's doing the voice :\
its supposed to be mendicant bias.
Robo lopez Halo Wikia says that it's the Gravemind. It would make sense, since it does kind of sound like him.
"Mendicant Bias has been associated with the whispering voice heard distinctly in the Mausoleum Suite on the Halo 2 Original Soundtrack.[citation needed] There are obvious similarities between the character expressed in the whispers and Mendicant Bias - both are imprisoned by memories of their past crimes, both are seeking forgiveness, and both retain a sense of fatalist philosophy." ~ Halo Wiki
Robo lopez Mendicant Bias didn't start the Flood, it crash landed on a ship; it started from the powder that was in the thousands of containers on that ship.
It should be horrible crimes not old crimes.
Yea
I had no idea that it was actually a hidden message!
@Myusernamerulez Ha, ya good point. I know that actually, in the description it says horrible and in the video it says my own crimes. Sorry about the discrepancy there but yes its supposed to be horrible.
...I am mendicant bias
No
@ClanRangers Ya ik... I made this video at like 12:00 at night too... bad idea lol.

@@logojanny7171 I take my comments very seriously
Oh Oh yes. I do believe that those quotes were used in Halo 3, from lines that Cortana said. It wouldn't make sense for that dialogue to be in Reach though because it was before the discovery of the halo ringworlds and Medicant Bias.
I like your muffin icon C:
I always hear people saying its mendicant bias but never see anyone saying its faber the master builder

Being that Halo Infinite is popping up a lot of lore, I was drawn to this video by the 'ice berg' of halo mysteries. My only thoughts of this just make me ask more questions. I understand, this audio is said by an alien (When said normally), but yet being backwards it sounds like something native from earth is speaking. "I have walked among men and angels" - The only thing I can think of, this being a very human understanding of what the term 'men' and 'angels' means to humans or... human like being. The biggest statement that makes me question this also "I wonder the EARTH seeking forgiveness." No brute, elite, or anything outside of humanity that we know of could be saying this. So what the fuck is talking?
It's been 7 months, so you likely found the answer, but it's almost certainly mendicant bias.
Basically, Mendicant Bias was an AI who was created by forerunners to fight the flood. (A lot of Halo 2 implies humanity are forerunners, which was later retconned [IIRC they're subspecies of each other], which is where the focus on humanity comes from.) Forerunners assumed he would eventually default to his programming and did not intervene with his interactions with the Gravemind. Mendicant Bias willfully joined the flood, and it was only after the extinction of forerunners that he realized he was wrong. After the firing of the rings, He was discovered by the Covenant and wound up on high charity as the ship's AI, which is why he can be heard on mausoleum suite. Cortana references him in the mission High Charity when she talks about a formidable AI preventing her from delaying the launch sequence.
A lot of covenant call master chief "demon," angel is the opposite. When he says he's walking among angels, I take it that he's watching Master Chief. The final terminal from mendicant bias (found on halo 3 on legendary difficulty, you can only read it if you have the rest already) suggests that he may be the reason behind master chief's luck, as he says he will do everything in his power to keep him safe. He's likely been watching him for a while.
Yeaah. This is my primary theory as well, as I explain in the description.
@@NotALotOfColonial_SpaghettiToGyou are correct, forerunners and ancient humanity were created by the pre cursors as candidates to inherit the mantle of responsibility (or so it is assumed that this was their reason). So yes they are sun species both created by the precursors.
Spooky4me
welp now im scared D=
I swear this sounds like an scp
yes scp 117 the gravemind.
+Snubby Stub
The Flood might as well be an SCP.
1. It does not follow the criteria for something biological to be living.
2. It cannot be classified into any biological kingdom.
3. It's consciousness transcends physicality.
There are many other things about the Flood I haven't listed that make it all the more mysterious and terrifying.
What is this from?

It's the gravemind, right?

Yes.

or maybe its just the fuck gravemind
That's actually very possible. At 0:38 you can hear almost perfectly clear "I Satan".
xXAISPXx dude you know he didnt say that, why must it be religious satan has nothing to do with this
***** you make it sound like its just that easy and that we can just know how "Satan" thinks also the world wasnt made 3,000 years ago nor was "Satan" by the way also if the Gravemind learns from what it feeds and is basically a mixer of all that it feeds theres no tell what it really means. it acts on what it needs survives and evole.
***** alright man i understand i know alot about the Gravemind (thats why i disaggreed with you) because he is my favorite character in halo. it also doesnt make sense that the devil is 3,000 because that would be in my opinion way too young for a "devil" i am an atheist so i dont think thats the only answer do to the fact of who and what the Gravemind is as an alien.
