Hal Steinbrenner had an interview and said that the yankees current payroll situation is unsustainable. But while many yankee fans were upset about it! I dont think its really what it seems

He"s gonna get at least $50m. It's all good if they win this year. My fear is Boone will make a boneheaded bullpen decision.

Simple math rizzo out Spencer or judge at first. Rizzo 20mill goes to soto current 30 mill and you have soto signed 50 mill. Gleybers 14mill gets freed up for Oswald peraza. Verdugo 8 mill is gone that 22 million coming off the books. It's all about the infusing the farm system.

It's still a ridiculous quote. The Yankees make an obscene amount of money. It's not like they're tied to Ballys like a lot of teams, they have their own network. They make a ton from merchandising, sponsors, their stadium, the Yankees have close to unlimited funds and Hal puts this quote out when Soto hasn't been signed. Plus Yankee fans are still not confident that he cares about winning a World Series.

Take the fanatic out and put your business hat. If your top 5 in payroll then you can't complain about money not being spent. Yankees are well oiled machine and has been for 30 plus year. I'll complain if when we are not making the playoffs and become a 500 team. We are always in it and I thank the steinbrenners from George all the way to hal. Same for Cashman only reason to let him go is becuase he has had the job for too long but not because he can't put a team together year in year

Just because they have high revenue doesn't mean they have unlimited revenue. Their payroll with CBT factored in is over 400 million, even if their revenue is 2 billion (it's probably lower) that is a significant chunk.

hal said they do not need a 300 million dollars payroll. he said nothing about 299 million dollar payroll. he is right mlb is in trouble the rsn cable stations are bankrupt. the company is going completely out of business. the smaller teams are never going to get the same local revenue. mlb is going to try to sell the small teams streaming to their fans. nobody watches the local games the local fans will not pay for the new streaming. who is going to buy the marlins rays and A's streams. nobody goes to the games. this is worse for the nhl nobody watches the nhl some of their teams will go bankrupt.
