@@thesporter4ever559 I do he is great

I have a challenge for Marc: When the season starts (hopefully it does), Marc cannot shave until the Mets go on a 5 game winning streak. Like if this is a good idea👍
Brian Lane gonna be a long beard
That might go into 2024
@@tmed1226 last year they had like a 15 game win streak
Ok. I love this idea
Boy gonna be lookin like Gandalf
Woah I haven’t been here in like 4 months didn’t know he’s rockin a beard now
not shaving till the lock down is over. The Anti-Virus Rally beard.
It’s a little patchy but it works
rocking wouldnt be the word i used lol
Giraffe keep the baby goatee with the mustache but those side hairs gotta go 😂
Jeff James beard wouldn’t be the word I would use

@@dangerousdean5100 That wasn't the question but sure.
They're both incorrect. The Correct way to spell my favorite Cardinal player's name is Ozzie Smith.

Well New York has 2 teams so it’s his choice

"Barry Bonds did a lot of things other players just didn't do."
Like enough steroids to turn his head into a watermelon and *probably* enough to develop the ability of spontaneous flight.
Dakoda OK you don’t know that
He was the best player in an era where lots of the best players cheated.
If you can be the best of the cheaters, while cheating, you are still damn good.
@@testingmyaudioaddiction3452 okay so if 50% of people cheated that still leaves 50% of people that didn't and look at his numbers prior to steroids he was great but no where near GOAT status
Dakoda OK Truth: Barry Bonds willfully took steroids.
Also truth: MLB pushed players to take steroids so they could get attendence back after the strike of 1994. Attenedence was more then cut in half across the league following that year. So the MLB pressured players to take Steroids. Sosa, Palmeiro, McGwire, Sheffield, Bonds, etc. And then they promptly forgot about it in 2007 when the Mitchell Report came to light. Did Bonds cheat, yes. But the MLB condoned that behavior!
Matthew Miller he was a forty-forty player. That had only happened once before, by a steroid user.

Ichiro Suzuki and Ken Griffey Jr were my childhood baseball heroes.
I’d take Pujols for St Louis
Me too and mark McGwire is the reason I'm a cards fan but Pujols is my favorite
Jim Edmonds for me
I always had a soft spot for Willie McGee. I'm a Cubs fan. Cheers.
When mcgwire retired mark would have been five based on what he said at the beginning of the vid
Jacob Spencer yeah it seems like he’s lying about some of these picks. I don’t even believe that he remembers much of randy Johnson as a diamondback or Guerrero as an expo
It’s Marc
Good call on Delgado. I grew up in the town he played single A ball in. He was there for a full season and played catcher. Was awesome to watch him on a near nightly basis.
Love your thoughts man every video is a treat with you!
As a braves fan my all time favorite has to be Chipper Jones or Freddie Freeman
Blaze Rooster Mine too although I’d probably give Chipper the edge. 2 legends right there
Blaze Rooster Brian McCann is also a fan favorite for 90s and 2000s kids
TheJacob Redmond - Yeah
there's so many in recent history to pick from the braves like chip, Freddie, Fred Mcgriff(although he was better with the marlins), greg Maddox, John smoltz, tom glavine, bmac, JHey, or even young guys like acuna, or albies.
The greatest player of all time is Greg bird. Lol
Mario C strait facts
You could make an argument for Todd Frazier too
What bout Mario
And jacoby elsbury
Greg bird is the goat
When Carlos Lee was in Milwaukee he did a reading community thing at my elementary school. After that I fell in love with baseball and he was my first favorite player. This video is bringing all the nostalgia back.
Prince Fielder is my all time favorite player. I'm upset his career ended as abruptly as it did, but I'm glad I got to see him play when he was healthy and in his prime with the Crew
Current Astros players let him down but he's in love with all the steroid guys...
Steroids are not as bad sign stealing
"I'm ok with some cheating, just not the astros sign stealing" 🙄
As everyone ignores all the other sign stealing that has been going around the league. Wake up everyone
I was strictly a National league kid growing so here were my NL favorites...
Braves - Dale Murphy - great player on some really bad teams
Expos - Andre Dawson - so smooth
Mets - Darryl Strawberry - must watch player always
Phillies - Steve Carlton - made hitters look foolish
Marlins - Gary Sheffield - always hated this team
Cardinals - Willie McGee - speed, great hitter, instantly recognizable
Cubs - Shawon Dunston - strongest arm of any shortstop ever
Brewers - Gorman Thomas - imagine slow pitch softball power hitter
Reds - George Foster - hit some epic blasts, boom or bust player
Pirates - Dave Parker - my favorite player of all time, the cobra, nuff said
Dodgers - Fernando Valenzuela - a phenomenon
Giants - Kevin Mitchell - a beast
Padres - Garry Templeton - great shortstop, could do it all
Rockies - Larry Walker - dude could hit
Diamondbacks - Tony Womack, once a Buc, always a Buc.
Keep in mind the Brewers were an American League team it's first 28 years at Milwaukee until moving to the National League, while the Houston Astros were part of the NL until from it's existence until 2012 going to the AL.
Nice video Mark! Miss MLB
Same
I have to say, as a lifelong Padres fan from San Diego, I was kind of disappointed you didn't say Tony Gwynn. But I can understand why you picked Blash for those reasons. Cool video regardless, big fan of your channel.
Chris Kovacs he was probably too young for Gwynn, though I’d think the same for McGwire/Sosa
Marc- “steroids don’t matter.”
Barry bonds- 1986 (age 21) to 1999 (age 34) 445 home runs, .288/.409/.559
2000 (age 35) to 2007 (age 42) aka the steroid era, 317 homers, .322/.517/.724
Sure... suddenly having major spikes in your power numbers over the last 7 years of your career, when most people would show SOME decline, is TOTALLY natural and doesn’t matter at all...
Yeah he was a hall of famer without the steroids, but it’s likely his career without them would have looked more like Griffey Jr and less like... the weird Frankenstein thing we saw.
Pretty sure he meant they won't affect who he chooses
Max S I’m sure it is what he meant. But none the less calling him the GOAT or anything close to the sort because of inflated steroid numbers is silly.
He had great numbers and would’ve been an all time great anyway. But we’ll never know what kind of player he REALLY was because the last 7 years are marred by steroids.
I mean, his entire slash like skyrocketed after age 35, when almost every legit hall of famer saw a decline...
Dude hank Arron spiked later in his career
slither king actually his average went down, but stayed close enough to his career norms. He lost 25 points on his average from 34-42. His power numbers were still good but the average dipped. Notice his doubles went down too. Shows he was swinging for the fences.
Hank hit 40 at the age of 39 and hit 301
My favorite Francesa call was when someone said Jason Giambi could be the next Jets QB
Love from Middlesex county NJ my man. Cheers brotha!

"South Jersey doesn't even count" LMAO

Rip Al Kaline.
Rip al Kaline 😥
When I was in third grade, I got a pack of baseball cards at Halloween. They were from the 80’s or 90’s and I didn’t even recognize the old team logos and thought they were minor league. It wasn’t until a few months ago I noticed one of the cards was Ken Griffey Jr. The guy laminated the card and it was in mint condition
...6 bucks on eBay.
Carlos Delgado was a beast thank you Marc I've been waiting for someone to put him on their team
One top three greatest Jays for sure, but my favorite Jay has always been Tony Fernandez . I think maybe just because that is when i started watching as a kid.
I need mlb the show 20 😭😭

Guy is let down by people like correa, springer, and bregman, but has Sosa, Big Mac, and bonds on his list...get outta here.
Those guys saved baseball and were electric and fun to watch, the Astros completely cheated the game and brutally disrespected it, and won a lot of games because of it.
@@wyattjones570 I'm not saying they weren't exciting to watch. I'm just calling out the inconsistency. All players that I named used an unfair advantage to elevate their game. If he had those 3 and say Bergman I would be perfectly ok with it. But to knock one player for using an unfair advantage while praising 3 others is just straight hypocritical.
I was such a big fan of Micheal Young I remember in 2010 playing my copy of the Show 06 (that's what I had at the time lol) I wanted every single player with the last name Young. I don't remember why but I know it was linked to my connection with Micheal Young lol.

Love this. You don’t have to explain your own favorite players and why they aren’t players from the 60s!
love you for the Galarraga pick!
Marc, Healy banned half your discord server because one idiot said the n-word so we pinged the mods. He banned us for trying to do good, plz help unban us and idk Healy was just being salty
Bro, THE TRIBE HAD JIM THOME AND YOU CHOOSE SOMEONE BESIDES HIM!!!
Love Arenado as your Rockies pick. But I also like Vinny Castilla. A great player at 3rd base or also Tulo for his wonderful time there
I actually went back and looked at Ken Gieffey jr.'s fully Carrer. With his home run pace, if he had played AT LEAST 140 games every season, he would have hit close to 740 home runs.
Nick Castellanos is JD Martinez 2.0
Who’s Cabrera I have only have heard of Miguel andujar
Jk Im sorry migi Cabrera you are the 🐐
Hey Marc, can u do a ranking or tier list on each team's announcers?
I'm so glad you put Ichiro lol, favorite player of all time
Saying steroids don’t matter and bonds is the greatest player ever is like saying the astros 100% deserved to win the world series
Baseball Thor34 I agree with you but Barry Bonds was the goat, then he did steroids.
H Marks I don’t know about the goat but he was good
True but you wanna talk about getting framed for steroids then look at my boy Mark McGwire definitely didn't take any Gym Candy the MLB was just pissed off that a Cardinals player hit that many bombs in a pitching stadium
@@henrymarks2237 trout is the GOAT
Baseball Thor34 you can still be juiced up and strikeout, but if you know what pitch is coming you’re bound to put the bat on the ball
Barry Bonds COULD HAVE BEEN the greatest player of all time. He ruined his chance when he CHEATED
Morale is not congruent with skill. Sorry kid.
Dee EM then why do we give McGuire and Sosa shit for takin steroids. Just because you have emotional ties to a player doesn’t mean he gets a pass. My favorite player all time is Albert Pujols, and if it comes out that he took steroids during his prime I’d be one of the first ones to say he doesn’t belong in the Hall of Fame.
Dee EM he had tremendous amounts of skill in Pittsburgh, then he started juicing and became a masher. I’d respect the hell out of him if he would’ve stayed a 40-40 guy instead of chasing homerun numbers the wrong way.
@@kenny2k822 1) Bonds didn't strike out at a high rate ever in his career. Only once hit 100 K's and that was his rookie year (101). Sosa and McGwire both led SO's at least once in their career 2) 8 gold gloves; 5 of which he obtained in San Francisco. 3) Elite baserunning well into his 30's. Sosa was good for a season or two 4) Again you are placing a moral compass as if it is congruent to talent (i.e. your HOF statement)
Dee EM it’s not a moral thing he broke the rules of the game. He used a BANNED substance. It’s especially sad because he was on pace to be the greatest of all time. He BROKE THE RULES. Just like the Black Sox. Just like McGuire and Sosa. Just like A-Rod. Just like the Astros. Rules were BROKEN. He was an amazing talent BEFORE the steroids, but no casual fan who has heard about Bonds remembers his clean days in the 80s and 90s. They remember the masher from San Fran. The dude with the gigantic head (literally and figuratively). From the research I’ve done the first time Bonds did steroids was 97. And he was definitely still doin them when he was breaking all the Home Run records. He was the best in the game for a while, until he CHEATED. Again not a moral thing, if you go out of your way to break the rules of the game to give yourself an unfair advantage, that would be by definition, CHEATING.
Hey respect for just going with guys you’ve seen! You should do a video on your opinion for the best players on each team regardless if you’ve seen them you so could go with someone like Gehrig but you could also go with Griffey or Bonds
Adam Rosales is my favorite A’s. He is super nice and sprints for every homerun. Love him
5 days left steal a player or un sub
pretty sure half us Yankees fans forgot Miguel Andujar existed, so we don't have our panties in a bunch of the "Miggy" nickname
Also as a non Mets fan if there was an honorable mention for them I would give that to David Wright. I know he battled injuries but he played the game the right(no pun intended) way and just seemed like generally a great dude.
It's funny that I am opposite of Mark in that I don't know too many current players, but I know the old players. My favorite current Brewers player is Christian Yelich, but I remember Robin Young, Paul Molitor, Rollie Fingers, etc. But we agree on the Big Hurt and the Big Unit, and I was a huge fan of Prince Fielder too!
Andres Galarraga is my favorite player of all time. Glad to see The Big Cat got a shout out !
As a Red Sox fan I loved Billy Wagner on the Mets. Adam Dunn for Cincy, Smoltz for Atlanta, Mo on the Yankees, and I agree with you on Delgado even though there were A LOT of good 1B's during the early 2000's. Also gotta go with Todd Helton for Colorado. Nolan is great and all but his career hasn't even peaked yet. Solid list otherwise.
I’d be interested to see like a top 20 players of all time or something along that line
Granted it’s just before your and it was Colorado but when you mentioned Galleraga’s homers it made me thing of Sid Bream’s check swing homer.
@ Greg Diamond, how 'bout a homerun on a bunt by Bryce Harper against the Mets
These lists are fun, honestly though I have a hard time having favorites for any team other than the Dodgers.

Dude. Aging like fine wine is an old old old saying. You did not create it lmaoooo
My favorite baseball player of all time is Barry bonds I could watch that guy play all the time and I grew up with two giants fans as parents so I loved watching him play
I'm a Twins fan by your way of seeing that player in your life my favorite Twins player of all time is Joe Mauer
I get the Big Mac love because we literally followed that home run chase during summer baseball after every game the first thing we did was check the Cardinals box score that night but as a Cardinals fan Albert was wayyy more fun to watch as a complete player. People forget how good of a fielder he was and he even played some third an outfield when he first came up. Also helped that he was a huge part of a winning era in St. Louis. As a Cards fan I would say Albert easily. Big Mac may have had a few historic years in St.Louis but Albert had a ridiculous stretch his entire time in St.Louis.
This would be my top 5 favorite Cardinals from my era as a 33 year old.
1. Albert
2. Yadi (Clutch hitter and in his prime you weren’t running on him. Always great with the pitching staff)
3. Chris Carpenter (Bulldog, he’s the guy you want on the mound in a big game. You knew he was going to give you everything he had even if he didn’t have his best stuff.)
4. Edmonds ( Always guaranteed a few jaw dropping catches a season and when he hit bombs off high pitches that swing was crazy)
5. Rolen (I could watch Rolen play third all day, he was a machine )
Very Honorable mention: Wainwright- Love Adam and I know I’ll get killed for not putting him in my favs but it’s mine.
Big Mac - Loved watching him at the time but that entire chase and what Bonds did later just felt like a lie to me when everything came out. They are still amazing players but yeah it doesn’t feel the same to me anymore.
I'm a big yankees fan but for whatever reason... I loved Nomar Garciaparra on the BoSox.
I was watching the cast with D-Train when he said JV was like a fine wine and I knew he took that from u😂
Good idea, man, about working with people from the modern era, not those guys in the pre history of baseball, for the same reason you handled. I loved your choice of McCutcheon from the Pirates ;Arenado from Colorado Rockies ; Ichiro from Seattle; Beltré from Texas; Trout, for the Angels. Now ,for the Toronto Blue Jays, my Choice was Tony Fernandez. I don't object to Carlos Delgado being a Hall of Fame; he deserves that honour.
chipper jones has been like a father to me since i was put into foster care at the age of 1 and was adopted at the age of 4. it is definitely him. he represents baseball on and off the field.
Awesome video
My dads favorite all time Tiger.....Al Kaline. Unfortunately passed away a couple days ago. I thought he’d live forever. RIP Mr. Tiger.
"Big Hurt" is what people should call Giancarlo Stanton. The man hit a 121 mph, 440 ft home run. How??
Michael Viner - No, there should be only one “Big Hurt” and that’s the White Sox legend Frank Thomas.... Also, look @ the guy... The nickname fits him and he’s smashing home runs.. He’s absolutely huge!!!
My favorite player all time from the Bucs is Marte with Neil Walker at a close 2nd, both have done so much for the Pirates
*Need a Vid of Greatest All-time Team of 'players by year' per position:* 96'Maddux, 94'Gwynn, 96'Caminity, 98'Mcguire, 41'Williams, etc...?
